Besides being a person…read morewho is friendly and easy to work with, what stood out to me the most was how passionate he is about his job. Charles is a perfectionist with great attention to detail, and really cares about his craft. My job was fairly simple (covering up a small scar), but he still treated it with care and precision. He understands that he is in a unique position to positively impact people's lives, and that is the driving force behind all that he does. His prices are very fair and his consultations are free. His studio is clean and comfortable, and scheduling with him was a breeze (he is super responsive in communication). I highly recommend you check him out if you are at all interested in SMP!

Charles gave me my hairline back!…read more I'd been bald for over 30 years and had just accepted it as a way life. I was never really comfortable with the way I looked, wearing hats and beanie's whenever possible. When I was hatless, I felt my forehead looked huge, and I had low self confidence. So, finally in my early 50's, I decided to make a change. I looked into hair transplant surgery, and kept feeling unsure of the outcome. I had a couple friends go to Turkey and get full procedures completed, and they really didnt look that great. They spend thousands, and still had thin looking hair. One of my friends went for 3 procedures, each costing thousands of dollars, and finally got results he was ok with. These experiences kept me on the fence for years. Then I had a friend get an SMP procedure and I couldn't believe the change. It was instantaneous and amazing! So I started to look into SMP for myself. I did a couple consultations, but when I met Charles I knew this was the guy I wanted working on my head. The shop is absolutely beautiful and very private. Charles is a perfectionist and did his SMP schooling at one of the top schools in Florida. He explained the procedure very clearly to me, and explained what to expect after each session (there are 3). His pricing was also very competitive and reasonable, especially in comparison to any type of hair surgery. I was a bit nervous on the first session, but after we started I realized it was going to be a piece of cake. Pain was minimal, and results were instant. Charles is very diligent with cleanliness and provides top quality work, and he's also a pretty cool guy that's fun to talk to. After my first session, my friends and family were shocked at how great the results were. When my mother saw me she even got a little teary eyed, she thought I looked so good. Each session just enhanced the look and built up my confidence even more. I am incredibly happy with my results. SMP also works for females who have thinning hair too, so regardless if you're male or female, this procedure can change your life and bring back some confidence that is lost with hair loss. If you've even been thinking about SMP give Charles a call. He's always happy to do a free no pressure consultation. Trust me you'll be glad you did.

The first time I called, I asked how much would it be to remove several moles and skin tags and the receptionist said that I needed to be seen. The visit estimate was close enough, so no complaints here. I saw a dermatologist and we went over the things I needed removed. I asked if they'd charge me per mole/skin tag or if it would be included in the cost of the visit and her exact reply was that they would need to send the moles (not skin tags) to the lab for biopsy and she was not sure how much the lab would charge but it was something like $60 per sample (and I needed three or so). I asked if they charged the same per each and she said there should be a discount after the first one. She said she could do it right away or I could come next week. I asked if it would cost more to come next week (meaning if I would need to pay for another visit) and she said that I would not, so I decided to do it next week. I asked several times about the charges and the only thing the dermatologist and her assistant mentioned was the lab biopsy charge for the mole samples. In my mind, the total would be $175 for the first visit plus $60x3=$180, totaling under $400. Next time they charged me $150 for the visit, which I did not expect, but this could've been my fault, so not complaining here, either. After the procedure, the assistant and I went to the reception desk and she spent a few minutes typing something on a calculator. Then she gave me a $390 bill for the biopsy, which I assumed was for the lab biopsy. It was more than twice more than I had expected, so I asked the receptionist why, and she said that the biopsy was something like $120 per sample, and I was not really sure how many samples they had to send (I had a skin tag that was pretty big, so maybe I needed more than 3 to be sent), so I let it go, even though I was upset. I thought my deal with Berman was over, but a couple of weeks later, I got a $160 bill from the lab and I was totally puzzled since I assumed that my $390 payment covered the lab work. I called the lab and they told me that they never got anything from Berman. I called Berman and they finally told me the truth. The $390 charge was not for the lab biopsy work. It was for the removal procedure, which they also call biopsy. Yes, it cost about $120 to remove a mole (there is a formula that is applied to remove multiple moles/skin tags, so it's less per sample if you need to get a few of them done). In my case, I had three moles that needed to be sent to the lab and three or so skin tags. So, my total was $875: $175 first visit, $150 second visit, $390 procedure, and $160 lab. I do not know if this is how much places charge for the same kind of work, maybe it is, but my problem with Berman is that they tried very hard to not tell me how much the procedure would cost. And every time I asked (and I asked multiple times), I mentioned that I would be paying out of pocket, so it was not a question of how much insurance would cover. It should have been pretty simple. I called the Roseville office and talked to the billing representative, but it went nowhere. She claimed that I was told how much it would cost in advance, which was not true. I could not be told in advance because the assistant calculated the $390 amount in front of me right after the procedure when I was waiting to pay. I asked to escalate the issue and was told that a regional manager would call me, but nobody did. I checked online to see if I can file a complaint, but one of the few articles I found mentioned that the amount should be over $400 and the only amount I would dispute would be $390. I am wondering if the amount was intentional for that sole purpose, but I'd be speculating here. Anyway, if you are planning to get some skin work done and pay out of pocket (at Berman's or anywhere, but especially at Berman's), make sure you get a "good faith estimate" with the charges outlined in advance. I did not know about it and I did not realize I needed one because the responses I got made me think that I would only need to pay for the visit and the lab work. I can't say if this is a standard practice at Berman's, or if I am an unlucky one, but if not criminal, at the very least, it is not ethical, and one would expect medical professionals to be on the right side of ethics. P.S.  One more thing: when using an HSA account for mole removal, you need a letter of medical necessity (LMN) from a doctor. I got a notice from my HSA processor asking for LMN and I could not get one. I sent a message via Berman's web portal, called their billing, and left a voicemail for the dermatologist, but nobody called me back. I was able to carry $390 over the next year, but it showed the attitude.

Trusting her, I went to Dr. Prasad for a FREE consultation on weight loss medication. I only needed to lose 10-15 lbs but struggle with stress, thyroid, and menopause to lose weight. All I wanted was phentermine which I've taken before. Dr. Prasad has the worst personality. She's not friendly at all, couldn't laugh at anything I joked about. I told her I'd taken this before and it worked well. Having to only lose a small amount of weight, I didn't need a lot of direction. This consultation lasted 45 minutes because she felt it necessary to counsel me on sugar in the diet, getting your system into ketosis, how your body attacks sugars, etc. She repeated herself a lot too. Anyway, after 45 minutes she sent the rx in for me and I checked out. At check out I was told it was going to be $150. I said what, this is supposed to be a free consultation. They said the Dr. said it was because she spent a long time counseling me. I said I didn't ask for her counseling and didn't need it to be honest and that I didn't have a choice. I couldn't just leave and had no control over the visit or what to expect. She chose to spend that long with me. I paid it because I didn't want to make a scene purely because of Olga and my friendship. But it was brought to the office manager's attention and addressed the next day. I was offered a refund which I was thankful for. But that is simply bad business. Now instead of getting follow up visits at $100 each and future skincare with Olga and continued business, or referring anyone there, I will never go back to that practice and add yet another 1 star review to the 27 that currently exist. That should tell you something. Lastly, their intake form has typos and my receipt had a few too. That's super unprofessional.
