What an awesome little find this was, although I can't take credit for doing so (thanks Bec). It's…read morea cute (in a good way), cozy little spot with fresh, tasty, well priced food, a great range of drinks and friendly, welcoming service. Try the Caramel Shake with a shot of espresso (Dirty Caramel Shake?) for something deliciously different and apparently the Insane Stack is amazing (if you like Avocado) although I couldn't go past the classic Eggs Benedict.

This little cafe sits on the main street of Blackwood, opposite the Coles supermarket. I have had…read morefood and coffee here a few times and they are consistently great. The decor is as the name suggests and quite simple but lots of seating with also spots outside. Magazines and papers to read if you get the time on the weekend. The food: I have had eggs benedict here, great sauce and well cooked eggs - the mexican nachos are to die for! SO yummy and not too spicy - they came as a recommendation from our waitress, Marie. She also suggested the mexican jacket potato but I went with nachos. :) Marie was very helpful, very patient with my indecisiveness! Also one of the few places that sell hot dogs! I have gone with the Hillbilly's special before with avocado, tomato, cheese and aioli and their special sauce - so delicious! I love a good hot dog and its a decent portion too. As you can probably tell, I have always had consistently good food here and I just love Blackwood so I come here often. I forgot to mention the juices are also pretty good - go the immune boost! Only negative is that the hours are not always consistent - the manager sometimes will close if its not busy. I completely understand but as a consumer this can make it hard to plan a visit.

The cafe channels a hipster vibe with mismatched furniture and an eclectic use of items as display cases, but the owners have really maximised the space here whilst allowing the patrons to have enough breathing room. Staff are friendly in store and always up for a chat and happy to give you their recommendations on food or tea blend options. The Menu has a good range of breakfast and light lunch options and vegetarians will find themselves relatively well looked after. I'm a big fan of their pancakes (which are really pikelets) as they are very generous on the portion sizes as well as topping options. The coffee here is a wee bit bitter for my own liking but their lattes are crazy creamy. The Litttle Leaf also mixes their own tea blends you can buy in store, whilst I'm not a tea drinker myself, friends have assured me it is top notch. The Leaf 'n' Bean also puts on regular events with live music, exhibitions and dessert nights on their cards. Worth the trip up the hill, check out their Facebook page to see what is happening instore.

Homemade cakes, muffins and slices (a large range of those being gluten free) taste like nanna has baked them herself. We tried the "Lemon Situation," GF Orange and Almond Cake and GF Apple and Rhubarb Crumble muffin thing and were all impressed and received our sweet quota for the week. The Iced Coffees were very creamy and rich with vanilla ice cream - made with real coffee but perhaps a tad too sweet for me. The atmosphere of this cafe is comfortable with a range of seating options from couches to large share tables and cushioned seats in the corner. They also have a lovely courtyard for sitting in during the day. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive and seem to really love where they work. I didn't manage to try their breakfast or simple lunch options of soup, sandwiches and quiche etc on the menu but will definitely be back.

As Milena wrote, the doors here open at 5.30am so it's a great spot for soccer moms to come in early at 8am, grab a couple of warm pasties or sausage rolls, with a hot cocoa and hit the road! Their breads are freshly baked and an absolute treat to take home and eat with fresh cream and strawberry jam. Strategically located along Main Road, just opposite Cafe Primmo. You can't miss it.

Hmmm, me thinks there was something in the air that fateful night. Baked goods such as bread, pastries, cakes, sausage rolls, pies, pasties are all on display. I had a sausage roll which was the hottest I've ever had from anywhere else, the rest are always lukewarm but at least can be eaten quickly. And yes it was tasty. They also serve coffee which was good and it is the cheapest I've seen in my travels. The pie warmer cabinet contents range in price from $3.10 for a sausage roll to $4.50 for a Steak and Guinness Pie, so there's a range of goodies in between according to your taste and if you prefer meat or vegetarian. The sweets display is also well priced and there's a big range to choose from, they also take special orders. By the way...the shop opens at 5.30am if you're really keen!
