My mom and I have been going to Nunos for years. The entire staff is awesome! They see me roll up and come out to great me. I have great conversations with the office guy when I wait. They always cut me deals and work with me. And when it is a service they don't do they always know someone that can do it and will get me taken care of. They have always been way cheaper than the dealer and a hell of a lot faster. They ALWAYS give a break down of what needs to be done and the cost and urgency before doing the work. And you DO get a break down of cost parts, disposal and labor upon payment. And because I live close they have even gone out of their way to drop me off and pick me up!!!! If anything (which has rarely happened) happens after a fix they take of it without charging again. 100% recommend this place!!!! My guess is the people complaining here are tightwads and or were rude themselves. read more

I will say right up front that this shop is a little pricy but they are worth it! I'm a Sunday mechanic and can fix most things on a car with a You Tube video. I had an antifreeze leak that I could not fix. This shop fixed the leak AND an unrelated issue at no additional charge. Car is running perfectly! It is true that you pay for what you get. They do a great and efficient job here. My oil changes are done so quickly that I don't even have a chance to get bored waiting for them. I was also pleased when they offered to take off the rattling heat shield from underneath my car. I'd say the only downside is that they are only open til 5 on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. I agree with the other review that they don't try to sell you on unnecessary extras, which is always a good sign. read more

We had them fix our power steering only to have the power steering hose break. Although the power steering was under warranty, they charged for the hose. We had over 2k in repairs done here but they had to rip us off. Well, that was the ladt time they will see our business. I hope it was worth the 269.00 dollars they charged for the hose that should have been replaced in the beginning. Unfortunately, our check battery light came on and since Nunos replaced our battery, we went back because it is still under warranty. Nunos claimed it was the alternator not the battery. We left because 3 other places told us it was their battery. Nice try Nunos but never again. read more

This place is a total scam repair shop. Had a starter replaced and within 2 days the same problem as before and i highly doubt it was the starter in the first place. And then they even wanted to charge me for another tow charge .Then they tried to get me to pay 55 dollars for an oil change when the sign out in front says oil change 19.99. Am hopeful that the car will still start in a few more days. The only reason why i went there is my car broke down accross the street. Had to pay 100.00 for a half a block tow. Beware of this shop. They do not know how to diagnose anything and will rip you off ! read more

If I could rate zero stars I would. Unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow any ratings less than 1 star. It's sad to say auto repair shops like this still exist and take FULL advantage of selling unnecessary repairs. BUYERS BEWARE! These guys will quote you and squeeze whatever they can out of you. Any grease monkey can change parts, these guys can't diagnose to save their lives! A good friend of mine was told he needed a power steering rack in his vehicle, because of a slight creaking noise heard throughout the steering gear/shaft assembly. Nuno's showed him that his power steering rack was 'leaking'. Yet, the power steering fluid reservoir was still at the proper level. Mind you, the quote was well over $1,000. My friend took his vehicle to another local shop and they FIXED his creaking noise while adding grease to his steering shaft. The noise was completely eliminated. Let's do some basic math here, $7.00 of elbow grease added to some rusty joints sure as hell beats the mere $993.00 (before tax). Don't get me wrong, regular maintenance is always needed! But damn near stealing from customers is just wrong! My friend has been a loyal Nuno's customer for several years now. Even bringing other vehicles in his household to this sad excuse for a repair shop. For Christ sakes they don't even have an alignment rack machine there! What kind of 'full auto repair shop' doesn't have an alignment rack? Stay away from this little shady business, I bet you they won't be around for that long! read more

I called about a LivingSocial deal I purchased where Nuno's was listed as a participating location - and not only would they not honor the deal, but the person who answered the phone had an attitude with me when I was trying to say that they made an arrangement with LivingSocial and should therefore honor the deal. I will never go to this place again. I am appalled at the way they treat their customers. I work in a client-serving role and there is never a reason where you are allowed to raise your voice at clients/customers or sound aggravated with them. I hope the managers of this place talk to their employees and give them any necessary training, because they need it. read more

We brought our vehicle into Nuno's to have an oil change, wiper blades replaced and wiper arm bolt secured. We were quoted $169. When we requested an itemized breakdown of the costs, Alex, the manager, was very short, rude, and unprofessional in his tone. We left and called ahead to Bartel's in Plainfield. They were very courteous and accommodating. They had us in and out within an hour and it only cost us $50. We hear it all the time that we should support local businesses. However, just because you are a local business does not mean that you can lack in professionalism and great customer service. Attention!! Attention!!!! Don't spend your hard-earned money for sub par service or goods. Nothing is going to change until bad businesses take a hit to their profits. I brought my car in to get waterpump replaced. I never had any trouble with my transmission now it slippes and rattling under my hood. I Went back twice to tell them and their refusing to acknowledge their wrong doing. If your an older single women you would be wise not to bring your vehicle there. This was my 2nd time going to get my oil changed. They were very professional, efficient and fast! The first time I was there, I was told I needed new breaks and 2 new tires. This time I was expecting that they would have another list of things needed to maintain my car but instead I was told my car "is in great condition"! Even though I'm a woman and was there with my baby, they didn't try and take advantage of selling me services that weren't needed. Unless you have a couple grand laying around for them to steal from you then go ahead. Our truck had a check engine light on so we weren't able to pass the emissions test. We took it here since it is close to our home and most convenient. They did not fix the issue and upon return the next day they wanted to charge us another $2700. Why on earth would they charge us again for the same service if they did not properly fix the issue. They have the worst customer service. Total ripoff. If they couldn't fix the issue then they should have just sent us on our way instead of taking $1400. Screw this place. We will never return. Basically this place is full of cheaters! My Honda Pilot 2004 air condition was not working and I took my car to this place which is very close to my house. I paid $325 for which took just an hour and as per the break down they charged me $169 and rest was labor. I had a doubt, and I checked with Lisle Honda for part and it was listed there for $32. Not happy at all I had my 9 month pregnant wife's car in for brakes and it cost me almost $600 I needed brakes and rotors but then they tell me that the caliper was no good which is fine because I know that it's needed. But then within a day the car starts giving me a really bad smell I thought it was just some fluid that might have been on the brakes but no 4 days later my wife is driving home and the brakes lock up on her...WTF. I do not recommend these people for anything or to anyone. So my next step of course is to contact them and I get my wife's car towed to their location at which time they tell me it is not common practice to double-check the brake hose before connecting a brand new caliper on which is complete BS I have a mechanic friend I went to and a different mechanic as well and I asked what the process is when changing out a caliper and they both told me they always check the hose now the guy at the counter not Bobby because he wasn't there and I'll get to him in a minute. The guy tells me that they checked the hose and that it was functioning correctly that they don't mess with it but how in the hell can you tell me that it was functioning correctly if within a day I get a horrible smell and within 3 days my wife could have gotten into the worst accident of her life and could have caused my unborn son's life in the process all because the hose decided 4 days later that it's going to malfunction really!?!? Now for my bad luck my insurance company won't pay for the towing so of course they have to add that on to the bill at this point the guy at the counter tells me he's going to give me a good deal he's going to try and help me out and only charged me $80 to redo the work that in my opinion and the opinion of other mechanics should have been done in the first place so we're talking about $80 for the work and then another 80 for the towing I mean hell they could have at least taking a loss on the towing considering this was less than 4 days ago that I had the work done on the vehicle and what they worked on malfunction but it was the hose because the hose decided I'm going to crap out in three days which mind you could have been the first day because that was the day I started smelling that really bad smell but again according to the guy that the hose was functioning properly I'm not a mechanic but I'm not stupid either. Now as for Bobby his mechanic on the day when I returned the vehicle tells me that he informed mr. Bobby about the hose and the potential situation and Bobby neglected to mention anything to me just hit me with a $400 bill and said on your way thank you for your money I mean business. and on the day when I return from my vehicle after they surprisingly find that the hose is no longer functioning correctly they fit me with another $160 bill of course for the work that they've done and the $80 for the tow truck I would have been better off had I just called my own damn tow truck because it would have only cost fifty bucks and I could have saved a 30 but nuno's gotta make that money somehow and I suppose not being honest and upfront with their customers is their only way they can do it I do NOT recommend this place to any of my friends any of my acquaintances any of my coworkers maybe someone I hate I would recommend them because I know their cars going to be jacked up and the price is going to be nasty for a routine break job and then to top it off they will probably have to come back a couple days later after their brakes and rotors have failed on them and get hit up with some more money. read more

Horrible place. My car had a battery problem. Came here to get it fixed. 2 days later. The radiator cracked. OK. Got it fixed. The next week. My wiring "rotted" and I needed a new distributor cap. 24 hours later. The plastic board under the car wasn't screwed on right and started scraping once I go over 45mph. Call them about it and they just brushed it off saying they never touched that area of the car. Also. This place is So dishonest. I was charged $90 for diagnostic fee. Been here 3 times and was never charged that until now. I called to ask about it and the guy Walter said they always do this and everywhere else does the same. I understand if I didn't get my car fixed there but even if I got service done there. I was charged this fee? That means I have to pay $90 for them to begin servicing my car for anything. Doesn't sound right at all. It makes no sense. This place is down the street from me but after this time. I'm never going back. Neither will any of my friends.
