I then go into a consult room, which is fine (I guess) but the man helping me, like the receptionist didn't utter a word. It was so strange and awkward. Meanwhile, (to make up for it?) the music from some oldies radio station is absolutely blaring. Again, awkward. No one wants to be subjected to "EVERYBODY MUST GET STONED!!" when they're shopping, especially for something so emotional and personal. After sitting in silence we go back to the room with the wigs. IDK if this person was on drugs or what (I'm serious, maybe he actually was), but he just kept wandering in circles around the room, while I sat in a big mirror and watched. I brought two pictures with me, which he could NOT grasp. Just kept putting random things on my head. I also let him know I was only interested in human hair. He smugly asked me what I thought the wig I was currently trying on was made of. "Polyester?" "Yes, but it feels pretty real, right?!" Wrong. The longest sentence he said was that if I wanted a human hair wig and in the color I wanted I would have to wait for someone in the world with hair like that to donate theirs, and in the meantime they would take a plaster cast of my head?! It would be around $5k and take A YEAR?! I then get to the register, and maybe this was my fault, but there was a $68 consult fee?! FOR WHAT?! I was so incredulous and anxious to get out of there I just paid it and made a beeline for the door. DO NOT GO HERE! It is absolutely bizarre.

The moment I walked into the clinic i was made to feel awful!! The sales man was on the phone and did not greet me at all and waved me off as if I where a stray dog in his way. I refused and told him my appointment was for wigs only, he then proceeded to then insist I had to fill out paperwork which I refused as well. There is no reason for them to have all of my personal information when I am only interested in buying one product. Finally they allowed me to go into the wig room which was lined with very used looking wigs. After several questions which where answered very rudely this man finally decided to do his job and help me get fitted for a wig. He made me feel terrible and when I was trying to place the wig cap he kept digging his fingernails into my head and wrenching my head around. I tried on one wig and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I decided it looked nice enough and enquires how much to buy it, he pulled it off my head and threw it on a table and left for about ten minutes. When he came back he informed me of the price and I was fine with it, until he told me I would have to buy THE USED FLOOR MODEL FOR FULL PRICE. This is completely unacceptable and I made that known and he proceeded to become very short with me. I excused myself and left. Never, ever in my life have I been treated with such disrespect especially when I am dealing with a life changing illness. The staff here is inept. This place should be shut down. Do not waste your time. They are snake oil sales men and clearly misguided individuals. Go anywhere else and you will be treated like a human.

This was the worst hair appointment of my life. I came in with a brand new unit in hopes for a cut…read morein. I was at this salon for over 8 hours only to get the brand new unit completely destroyed. During my appointment my stylist Chanel said several times that she needed to buy me new unit and that she doesn't usually do these. Here is what went wrong. They did not have the correct glue for lace. The glue was applied to both the lace and my scalp (a huge no-no to the lace). I even mentioned it. Five minutes later the glue had seeped all the way through the lace. This caused a disaster. My hair was covered in glue. I then had to have someone come drop proper glue off (why offer a service if you are not even prepared). Then once it was on she literally cut the hair on the back shorter than my real hair! Between the glue disaster and the cut my brand new system was ruined. My stylist kept apologizing to me says she would buy me a new unit and she is sorry that she doesn't really do these. I got sent home with an awful cut, my day wasted and glue was coated all over my hair! I then stopped in the next day to show them the disaster and no one was at the salon. I had left a voicemail with Debbie and she eventually got back to me. I told her what happened. She refunded me the money for the cut in service but not the unit. She even expressed how she shouldn't have even taken me as they normally only do woman's hair. I told her that I would then like a refund for my unit that her inexperienced stylist had botched. I told her how much my hair cost, she than said " they don't cost that much". Again why would she know if she doesn't use this hair often at her salon. I sent her an email with the invoice. I got no response. The super frustrating part is that I waited 6 months for this hair to come in from back order (350$). I ended up having to wait 2 weeks with an awful head of hair on to emergency fly to New York City to have my unit done correctly. The stylists jaws hit the ground when they saw what hairlab Chicago had done to me. The whole experience was traumatizing and stressful and I wasn't heard by owner! In my opinion if you knew better and even admitted that she shouldn't have accepted me as client, then why make me responsible for your mistake! I would never let a client walk out looking like this and then hold them financially responsible. Over all Debbie doesn't want to take responsibility for the mistake and I'm here to warn any further men to not come here! I am completely disgusted and disappointed with my experience here. Apparently it's my fault for getting my hair done there? I just don't get Debbie's logic. They should really take full responsibility to make this right on their end.
