Unfortunately, my labor/delivery Doula became unavailable and her backup was not around either. Franciska ended up picking me up from my home and taking me to the hospital as I was in active labor and I was alone (Due to unfortunate failures on the other doula's not affiliated with Fran). She stayed with me for a couple hours at the hospital while I was continuing to labor until a back up doula arrived. Her methods to sooth me during labor (without epidural) were very helpful. Franciska then returned a couple of days later on my day of discharge to take me and the baby home. She spent the next 8 weeks supporting us day and night. She set the bar so high that anybody else always fell short. My daughter and I adore Franciska. Her foods and snacks were delicious and it helped me significantly recover postpartum and while I was breast-feeding. She also paid very close attention to my health when my OB's dropped the ball on so many things. I ended up getting preeclampsia postpartum and if it wasn't for Franciska, I might've ended up hospitalized. Truly, owe my life to her! She is absolutely amazing!

I felt that she was connected to me the entire time, physically through gentle touch or guiding me through various positions, as well as mentally, offering mantras, listening carefully, and helping me navigate tricky decisions as my labor presented some challenges--she felt like my ally and advocate at every moment, never putting pressure on me, letting me lead and supporting my instincts. Ultimately, we achieved the tremendous feat of an unmedicated natural birth together, and I absolutely know that I would not have been able to reach that goal without her help. One key strength of hers was the way she skillfully navigated working with the rest of the L&D team. Our doctor told us afterwards how impressed she was with Sooo-z's professionalism, her ability to collaborate smoothly with the nurses to get me what I needed, and her absolute focus on me--something they don't always see with doulas. She was extremely knowledgable and able to see me the same day I called. The office was very clean and comfortable and I did leave with pain level at a 3 instead of a 10. However, I can only give three stars as the session was only for 30 minutes and the price was $175! She also did not do any medical-type massage beforehand which I've had done with three different acupuncturists in the past. I have NEVER ever paid that much for acupuncture, let alone for a session under an hour (I've paid $80-90). I really regret not asking for the price beforehand. She encouraged me to check with my health insurance about coverage (which it does not cover) but even with insurance potentially picking up the tab, I don't know how you justify $175 for 30 minutes.

The dentist couldn't do anything for the pain, and Advil wasn't working, so I decided to try acupuncture. Within one session, Dr. Jing was able to relieve the pain, and with a second visit I was completely pain-free and able to close my jaw again! It was like magic. It was my first time doing acupuncture, but she made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She explained her process thoroughly, and was extremely gentle and caring during the session. Her service is reasonably priced and worth every penny - I could not find instant pain relief like hers anywhere else. I was skeptical of acupuncture at first, but Dr. Jing has made me a believer. I have come back to her for other problems such as cramps and headaches. She is able to cure them all. I highly recommend Dr. Jing to anybody looking for pain relief. Terrible. They had been requiring unnecessary anesthesia to pad their bills. This had been going on…read morefor years until the insurances caught on and stopped it. That not only caused excess billing, but also made it much worse for the patient. Not only the negatives of excess anesthesia, but, they used that as an excuse to insist on patients having someone give them a ride. They also insisted it not be a taxi or Uber. Who then is left? A company called Care Rides that they were affiliated with, and charged enormous amounts of money. One time a patient couldn't afford Care Rides so he had to drive himself home, which he did with no problem. Then Wilton Surgery Center sent the police to his house, claiming that he was driving under the influence of drugs. Now the insurance companies have caught on to the unnecessary anesthesia, and stopped it. Thus, Care Rides no longer operates. In addition to this aforementioned horror, service is rude and all around terrible. The phone is often not answered. Messages are often not answered. Appointments are cancelled same day. The staff is often rude and insolent. Hours are limited. Forget about anything like going after work. Count on missing a day's work if you go here.

Several days before the Corona Virus became a topic of any sort, I moved my mother to Ridge Crest…read moreat Meadow Ridge due to declining health. This was a very difficult decision as it was going to separate my mother from her husband. However, as I would soon learn, it became the very best choice I could have made. From my initial conversations with the Admissions Nurse Daneen, my mind was put at ease by her expertise, her overwhelming compassion and complete sense of caring about all aspects of the move. Soon after the move, I met Danielle, the head nurse of the wing where my mother was placed, and found the exact same wonderful and comforting set of values in her (I am able to talk with Danielle daily to get updates on my mother's condition). This was followed by the rest of the staff, who, again, continue to impress me in every way. Then the word of the Corona Virus made the news. Ridge Crest under the direction of Kim Held, the Director of Nursing, took decisive and immediate action and locked down the facility to all visitors. This was far in advance of other nursing facilities,and has played a pivotal role in keeping the facility safe. This meant my mother's husband and I would no longer be able to visit her. However, once again, the Ridge Crest team stepped up. They understood the social and emotional toll this would take on their residents and their loved ones. Through the staff's loving and compassionate ways they put the residents at ease, as well as their family and loved ones. I am able to be in regular contact with the nursing staff by phone, my mother via FaceTime (set up by the staff). I cannot imagine a better, safer, more professional and loving place to have placed my mother. Ridge Crest is simply an outstanding facility.
