LW is my weekly safe space to connect with other parents who are going through the same struggles, to build community, and to steal everyone's best parenting tips! The teachers create the warmest environment and a safe space for parents to ask questions and learn. Watching my son (and now my daughter!) thrive and grow into kind, curious humans and getting to spend precious time with them has been such a gift.

They create a space where children can explore, get messy, build confidence, and simply be kids. One of my favorite things about Little Wonders is the sense of connection. I've watched friendships grow not only among the children, but among the parents as well. Parenting can feel isolating at times, and having a community of people who are going through similar stages of life has been invaluable. The play-based philosophy is something I love. There is no pressure, no rush, and no expectation for children to be anything other than who they are. Instead, they are given the time, space, and support to learn through play, curiosity, and building relationships. For me, Little Wonders has become so much more than a children's program - it's a community that has brought joy, support, friendship, and wonderful memories!

We were really fortunate to find our birth doula (who we love!), but the other 2 candidates were not very impressive. The first doula missed our appointment with no follow-up communication. We were initially confused and thought she was the coordinator for BB, because she only communicated by text. The actual meeting was just by telephone so there was no face-to-face interaction, which felt strange. We could've easily FaceTimed or Zoomed. So communication and reliability were not great. The second doula abruptly canceled our half-hour appointment when we were 10 minutes late for a 30-minute appointment due to my husband wrapping up a Zoom meeting. During our appointment time, she was responding to my emails (in which I apologized for being late), but insisted she could no longer meet with us. I thought this was a really bad sign about what she would be like to work with - labor and delivery is rarely precisely timed and some flexibility is needed. In addition, her email said that she lives in Portola Valley, but we live Berkeley (also where Brilliant Births is located). This also struck me as strange, because it would take 1.5 hours for her to arrive to meet us at the hospital, which is not ideal.

My son is within autism spectrum and at Modern PlaySpace all the activities are so supportive of his needs. They do lots of sensory friendly activities and the kids practice living skills. She's both honest and professional while giving instruction and critique. Giovannie can give you the advice necessary to succeed in auditions as well as actual film/tv roles. I've learned that the audition process is a different animal than the the work you do once you get the role. Sometimes auditions will give you very little info - those running them will expect you to know what to do! If it weren't for Gio's instruction, I wouldn't have been mentally prepared for a lot of auditions. And as much as I would like to hear "great job" everytime, there is great value in having an instructor/coach who challenges you to become better than "good" - good reads are good but "great reads" get the part!!!! There are a lot of good actors out there so you need to have an edge! Giovannie is great with kids too as she is a mother herself!
