I know many people with good reason bash Whole Foods. I will not argue with them. Still for me,…read moreWhole Foods is a godsend. Even with the recent increases in delivery charges for fresh groceries with an added tip, the service is helpful to me. I am a semi-invalid for whom travel is by public transit and difficult. I think Whole Foods beats everyone but Costco and actually beats them for my needs. Whole Food products are as good as they ever were. Allegro coffees are top shelf. Produce is fresh-always. Prepare meals are expensive but fairly priced. Fresh baked breads are terrific. Cheese selections are a boon. The speciality cheese department IS wonderful. Frozen goods are varied and delicious. I can usually get grocery delivery eat a time. convenient to me. That mean a lot to me. Baton Rouge CATS does not stop conveniently near Whole Foods-well, it is near but hard to reach from the store. In inflationary times, we wonder about our ability afford groceries, but as long as I am able, I hope to access Whole Foods Market. I am thankful I live near a Wholes Foods Market. I have not shopped in person now for several years. I do not know how in store service is. I used to stop the Junior League types who shopped there. I would say they looked like they worked for Whole Foods and then asked from directions. Whole Foods is head and takes superior to Target, Rouses, and Walmart. It is still a great resource.

I really wonder what happened to my fav enlightened cookie & brownie dough ice cream- unfortunately, they don't carry it anymore. I absolutely love the cheesecake & berry chantilly cake! The flowers are always fresh and beautifully put together. The service is always great & the store is always clean which is a major plus!

Our Daily Bread is a bakery, organic food store, restaurant, and health product store all combined!…read moreIt has been at its Florida Boulevard location for many years, but now also has a location at the Main Street Market Downtown. The Florida Boulevard location is the mothership though, where the baking and making occurs, and where the biggest selection of products can be found. I think they have a fine line of their own branded vitamins, supplements, and even preserves. I take their vitamins and a supplement on the daily, and I know they are the right formulas because these folks pay attention to the products that bear their name. You can find whatever vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other supplements you might want, in various brands and formulations. Then there are the groceries and food products, it is a full-fledged old-school health food store. You can buy everything you might need here, in a nice small local store, run by friendly and helpful people who want to connect you with products that are good for you. It seems a better place to buy things that you need. But that's not all folks! Remember the name is Our Daily Bread, and boy do they have that as well as other baked products to enjoy. They have healthy hearty breads, from sweet to savory, in various forms from loaves to po-boy buns. Then there are cookies, muffins, and carob bars! So much baked goodness to choose from. And in recipes that are good for you, without all the additives and preservatives. Then there are the prepared foods. These include a soup of the day (roasted root veggie is my favorite), sandwiches made with their breads, and salads. Other options are also available, including healthy juices and smoothies, for those who prefer their nutrients in liquid form. Go shopping around lunch time and have a meal while you are there, you'll be glad you did!
