I gave 4 stars only because the one item I got wasn't the best. The Dubai chocolate, mango ice cream and nuts are good. But this one item I'm about to post wasn't good at all. Walked by on a random Thursday evening on my way to a workout class and was tempted to come in to get some nuts and chocolate covered nuts. I'm a big lover of cashews and pistachios and eat them often. I didn't get anything fancy I just got the roasted cashews from here but let me just say it tasted SO INCREDIBLY good. Idk how they roast or what kind of process makes their roasting different but the roasted cashews I had were SO divine and meaty and warm and just perfect. A lot to say on just one type of nut but truly so so so so distinct and so good!! Yes the place is pricey but from what I got and tried I kind of get it. Yes they have the Dubai chocolate here - didn't get it but have heard great things from here. The customer service was very friendly and the guy at front got me to try some of their tea on my way out. I will have to stock up on this place for my trip back home, cannot belive I didn't come sooner. read more

Based on my other visits and this one they get a 2 star. I visited them a couple of times before today and it seems like the customer service is worst every time. The staff doesn't look happy to be there. Other customers ask him questions and he doesn't want to acknowledge them. I walked into the store and he gives me a look as if I'm bothering him when I said hello. This place has so much potential because they have really good treats and there's so much varieties, but just don't ask questions because the staff will make the shop very tense and awkward. I have gotten their halva, Turkish delight and nuts. And they're all very tasty. They also have so much varieties to choose from. They also have many things covered in chocolate. read more

I am only reviewing the "dubai chocolate". I randomly walked past here & saw the sign that they sold it. Went inside & got a bar to try. It is quite expensive but it was soooo damn delicious! Super crunchy, some pistachio butter taste & super chocolately. So much favors going on in my mouth! I came back a 2nd time today & bought 4 bars to give to my family & myself. Deeelish! read more

En route back to the subway after a sumptuous dinner at the nearby Chela, we strolled past this alluring storefront, its lights brazenly spilled across the sidewalk. Through the windows spun a massive set of decorative gears. The window dressing tempted with tantalizing treats of unspecified design -- colorful ribbons of confection. I briefly oohed and demanded my party explore inside... only to be spellbound in greater and great wonder. Rows upon rows of candies; nuts of every type and flavor I've ever encountered, and then some; exotic spices I've not encountered outside of Kalustyan's; fruity tea infusions that were available for sampling; even prettily wrapped babkas and other pastries, all neatly bundled with scrolling Israeli script. Of course, we left with several bagfuls of nuts, spices, and teas. A friend overheard one employee explaining that our visit happened to have been their opening day. What a lovely addition to the Park Slope neighborhood! This is the type of shop I wish were closer to home. Fortunately, I later discovered that Nuts Factory appears to be a mini-chain, with a couple other locations throughout the city. I'm looking forward to seeing if their Flatiron spot is as lovely as the Brooklyn outpost! read more

My friend and I were delighted to stumble upon this new spot in 5th Avenue in Park Slope the other day. There are so many scoop yourself bins of nuts, unique gummy candies, dried fruits, teas, some herbs and spices and other dried goods. Everything is priced by weight based on half pound. We tried dried strawberries, dried kiwi, lots of gummy candies which were all the same price so it was easy to mix and match and try a variety of things. It felt like a brand new store and was super clean and well maintained. Service was great with free ice tea samples too. I was surprised to see a store like this in NYC - even at Sahadi's you aren't really allowed to scoop your own stuff - at least the last I was there. I've always thought something like Canada's Bulk Barn would do well in NYC and I'm happy to learn about this mini chain and look forward to checking out their other locations. Hopefully they will start offering sustainable and reusable packaging options too. read more

So many options - raw nuts, spiced nuts, granola, spices, candy, dried fruits, chocolate covered nuts, and other delicious items (Oreo-covered pecans, halva-covered pecans). Not knowledgeable, arrogant stuff. So they actively advertise Dubai chocolate and I wanted to see what the hype is about. Asked the employee what is so special about this chocolate. She answered literally(!!) "I don't know(!!) but I buy it my self and I like it." That was not the end of our conversation and her not-so-knowledgable answers. There were several bars of chocolate and they clearly looked like one was milk chocolate (light color) and the others were dark chocolate. I asked what the difference is between these two kinds of Dubai chocolate. She answers again "I don't know". It's basic common sense to see the difference between milk and dark chocolate. But no, this chocolate store employee chose to say 'I don't know" to all my questions. I asked her one more question-what's inside chocolate bars? She naturally said "I don't know". At that point I felt like I was begging her to tell me about their products and I was terribly annoying her with my questions and presence in the store. I ended up buying one bar. The NAME of the chocolate that I read in my recite is Dubai PISTACHIO chocolate. How can am employee not know what's inside a chocolate bar if it's in the name?? Just a note-the price of the chocolate is $18.99+tax. The name of cashier on my receipt is Meinwaitie P. Time of the purchase-August, 13 at 1.40pm. If I were an owner/good manager of a store I would not want to give job to an employee who says "I don't know" about products to customers. But also there must be some at least basic customer service training to all employees. read more

She said she would bust a nut open in a New York minute if she enjoys how fulfilling the nuts are each not she stated has a difference not all nut are created equally and this was the most perfect time for me to introduce her to such a place with a cool ambiance surrounded by nuts. At first glance, this shop looks to just sell nuts but once you step inside, it has an assortment of goodies, from nuts, to dehydrated fruits and teas! It was a wonderful experience. I have been to this location several times and bought lots of good stuff. I have also ordered things on line from them. Last night I went to go pick up some chocolates after dinner and I got there at 8:55. The doors were locked but there were people by the register. They saw me and waved me away, indicating that they were closed. If you have a sign that says that you are open until 9PM, then that's when you should be open until. They lost a sale and maybe they don't care but I would hope management does. read more
