The appointment was lighting fast and super affordable. The staff and Dentist are amazing and go above and beyond to make you feel super comfortable. The only issue was getting connected with someone at the elston location. The number listed on Yelp is disconnected. I recommend calling the Lombard location to get an appointment in Chicago. The office is super clean and very state of the art. The only feedback i have is i felt the dental assistant forgot to provide post op care instructions and I had to ask for the paperwork. I love at the Chicago location they have a pharmacy inside and I was able to fill my prescriptions right there on the spot.

The family friendly and welcoming environment that the ladies at Dr. Nikki's have developed is top notch. From the updated magazines in the kid friendly waiting area, to the cutting edge technology they use to keep track of patient records and X-rays, it's about as pleasant of an experience as you could ever hope for at the dentist. I spent 30 years of my life neglecting my dental health due to nightmares stemming back from my youth, but since I've started going here, those nightmares are a thing of the past, and I look forward to that 6 month post card showing up in my mailbox. Unfortunately I will be leaving the practice after all these years because of the women at the front desk. I had 4 visits within one month. At 2 of the visits I was told they would be billed to insurance and I would receive an invoice for anything not covered. At the other 2 visits I was told I needed to pay upfront and would get a refund for whatever insurance covered. I was getting whiplash from all this back and forth, unable to predict if I would need to pay upfront or if it would be billed to insurance. After receiving an explanation of benefits from insurance I called the office to discuss my overpayment. I was told they had not received the insurance checks yet and would put a note in my chart to call me once they were received. I never got a phone call. I ultimately followed up and was told the checks were received and I had a $900+ "credit" on my account and they could write me a refund check if I wanted. When questioned on the practice of making ONLY delta dental patients pay upfront and only at some visits the women became quite defensive and rude. All she kept saying is "this is the way the doctor wants it done". Well if that's the case why isn't it followed at every visit? Had I not followed up would a refund check have been written or would I have just had this credit sitting in my account there? This seems like double dipping, keeping the money I paid out of pocket, while also keeping the check from insurance and just having a credit sit in my account. Something just doesn't seem right about this. In today's economy when every penny counts I can't be going to an office when I don't know if I'm going to have to pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars upfront and if they will actually refund me once insurance pays or if they will just keep a credit in my account. I'll be finding a practice that has followed their previous practice of billing insurance and sending an invoice for what wasn't covered. The longest it took insurance to write a check to the dentist in all of these visits was 8 business days. So the woman's explanation of "it's taking insurance too long to pay, that's why delta dental patients have to pay up front" doesn't make sense.

We called this practice hoping to get a temporary crown placed until we could get back to our dentist in TX. We were able to secure an appointment for Tuesday at 2pm. The practice staff were all amazing! The temporary crown blends well with the other front teeth! We definitely recommend them and will use them again should the need arise!

Just get back today from a quick root canal follow up visit with Dr. Burgener @ Wheaton office ... Couldn't be more happier with the result of root canal.( All the issues with tooth were fixed in just one previous visit ) ************************************************************ Below more details: ( For patients whoever want to know more) The Situation with my tooth was complicated (before root canal).. During the first visit , Dr. Burgener immediately point out there was serious Periodental Pocket around the tooth..If it is left untreated.. The tooth probably can not be saved eventually (even after root canal)... From that moment , I realize why she become Excellent Surgeon..(Looking at the root causes of a issue, foresee all other problem in the mouth that will cause future root canal failure...) Gum issues/ Disease is a different function(Periodentist) I was expecting her to say " After Root canal.. Suggest to see Periodentist) But she never say anything like that... To my surprise, As a talented Endodontist, She come up with a creative solution( Special filling with medication to cover the gum area).. So here I am , Within 2 Weeks after root canal.. My Gum @ that Problem tooth area come back( almost fully recovered) As we all know, Periodental pockets / Disease are difficult to treat...and very very slow recovery.. or in certain cases.. Can not be reversed at all. I feel I owe Dr Burgener a Big "Thank you".. She fix both the tooth problem( Root canal) and Periodental issue( Gum Pocket) in one visit for root canal. She is doing extra work( not her function at all) and don't even mention about it...( My original thought was I might need Periodental surgery or at least root scaling and planing with a Periodentist) Really appreciated for her Kindness. ************************************************************* BTW. One of my friend check on me lately and ask me how I am doing after root canal.. During the conversation , We find out we are seeing the same Endodontist(Dr Burgener) I was thrilled to know she drive all the way to Hinsdale ( That is a one hour drive for her..) to see Dr Burgener two years ago for a front tooth root canal.. The minute the two of us find out we are seeing the same doctor. Both of us smiled with a big relief... as we know we are in good hands and get top notch Endodontic care.
