I was in the middle of a bad experience with a dentist and Dr. Shuaipaj was excellent in recognizing what it took to finish an implant and placing crowns. First, let me say that I have dental anxiety, thanks to a dental trauma I suffered as a four-year-old, complicated by the painful/scary treatment I received afterwards. I still don't know exactly what happened; what I do know is that I am extremely nervous/anxious about any dental treatment, even cleanings. And--I've been seeing the dentists at Dentique for 20+ years (since back when they were at Elite Dental). I have had dozens of cleanings, several fillings, and even a couple of crowns and root canals (!!!) and they have never hurt me. I sometimes opt for sedation for major work, but am so comfortable there I've been able to get through minor care and even the seating of a crown without needing anxiety medication, or feeling anxious/scared. That to me is huge and has made taking care of my teeth much less stressful for me. :) The staff is friendly and professional, and I've recommended the practice to several friends, who also take their families there. The dentists and the staff are the only dentists my teens have ever seen, and I am grateful to report that they've never had a negative experience there, and so don't have the anxiety I have had. In short, they're great, and the care they provide is great, and I'm very pleased with the care I, and my kiddos, get there. Highly recommend. :) read more

BEWARE . Once they found out that I was there to just look at implant options and wouldn't be there for a treatment plan they didn't want to work on me. I went in because I have a molar that is hurting cold/hot things bothered it so something is def wrong. they took x-rays and the doctor talked about how unethical it would be to perform an implant he said my tooth was ok and never clearly gave his opinion on what should be done he danced around providing a solution. Since I had a bad experience with a root canal before I mentioned that an implant would serve me better and he refused to entertain that. You go to a dentist to get a solution you have the information available to you through the x-rays but you don't want to perform the work possibly because you know I'm there to specifically take advantage of a Groupon and you figure that I won't be going there for other things and I'm paying cash. Their practice is ran like Aspen Dental where they refuse to do work unless you do the other things they want you to do. The dentist even mentioned seeing a specialist. Why would a specialist need to be involved when you have X-rays in front of you? On top of that seeing a specialist would delay treatment by weeks . You should be Providing a solution whether it's a root canal, filling, or something else. I left there with no viable solutions and a dentist that basically said " No I won't do an implant". I need a dentist who can provide solutions and you failed. As soon as they find out you know about their Groupon deal for implants and you won't be coming back for a normal treatment plan with them , they then selectively choose who they want to work with. Instead of taking care of your customers you primarily look and approach it like a business first and because of that you didn't give me the opportunity to even switch to your practice because you couldn't properly diagnose a tooth that's hurting . read more

When I explained to the office manager how concerning this was and how I wanted to switch dentists to get a second opinion, they tried to convince me that everything was fine and to just see the other dentist in their office. clearly, they cannot handle losing business, even though their mistakes drove me away. read more

Dr Mazar placed numerous composite restorations which were not necessary. Dr Xhelo redid some of them, but I continued to have problems so I got copies of my xrays and had another DDS review them. They could not find one single area of decay. I asked for Dr Mazars documentation several times and have never received any. read more

While I feel weird giving a dentist 5 stars, I think that yes, they are as good as it gets... in dentistry. I originally went here with a Groupon for two dental implants. You may be surprised that Groupon offers these kinds of deals, but there are actually many, especially Summer '12. However, as someone who was looking at these deals specifically, I know that this one was the best because they were the only ones offering temporary and permanent crowns with this cost. The rest just offered the screw. I snatched it and made an appointment immediately. (They also have coupons for cleaning in ValuPak envelopes.) If I were treated any differently because of the Groupon, it would be a positive difference. They charged me for the sedation, but at a discounted price, and got the second sedation for free. They worked with me and gave me a flat low rate for bone grafting, no matter how much I needed. They have worked with me to pay as little as possible, and always fit me into the schedule. The staff is incredibly friendly. With my (now fixed) oral predicament, I've seen many the dentist in my lifetime, and this office is the second friendliest I've ever been to. The reigning dentist is cheating. He was our TX realtor's boyfriend and he had a free arcade machine. To a 5th grader, this is very important. While they tend to run late getting you in there, I blame this on being friendly and thorough, the waiting room is really comfy and offers their patients drinks. (I am too scared that they charge for them, so I've never taken one. Who offers Starbucks frappuccinos for free?!?) While very few, there are some negatives about this place. The lateness, yes. I do kind of get a feeling of a car salesman or repair shop, always finding something wrong, always getting me a "good deal", but I do have a lot wrong, as well as trust issues when it comes to dentists. However, I think they are for your interests and not purposely swindling you. Finally, I was a bit concerned about the guarantee of the implants. 1 year no questions asked, 5 (additional?) years if you keep up with your cleanings at this office. I have been quoted at a 800-implants place for lifetime warranty, but no such luck at this office. "Life is a long time". Let's hope that these puppies don't break! SHADY SHADY SHADY!!!! LIARS!!!!!! BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS TRIED TO TELL ME I HAVE DECAY ON TEETH I DIDNT!!! I dont think I have enough room to type about how sketchy this place is 1st I would like to say I dont have dental insurance and had to get some costly work done so I was "shopping around" and saw a few dentists to make sure I was getting a good rate for a dental implant. I found this office bc of Groupon. I scheduled a consult before I bought it. I informed the receptionist on the phone that I had the dental savings card Cigna (very well known) and she told me whatever wasnt covered under the Groupon I could apply my savings card to for additional discounts. This made sense. I then asked again when I got there for my consult about my saving card and was told they would honor my rates (twice now before I saw the dr) I get there and they immediately want to do a CT Scan ($375 cost). Luckily, I actually got one 2 days prior at another office visit (only $100) and provided that to them. They told me the dr didnt see what he wanted to see and wanted to charge me $375 for another. I denied and they finally did it for free so they claimed. I still dont know why, but fine. The DR also tells me he sees some issues on another tooth based off his scan. This is interesting bc I saw 3 other dentists prior and not one mentioned this. I called my dentist of 15 years after I left (hes not an oral surgeon so couldnt perform what I needed and said this is B.S. hes looking at my scans and doesnt see anything wrong with that tooth) THEY CLAIMED I HAD A PROBLEM ON A TOOTH THAT I DIDNT - TRIED TO CHARGE ME $313 TO "FIX IT" WHO DOES THAT? SO SKETCHY I talk to the Dr about my procedure and he proposed his treatment. All seemed ok so far. I go to set up my next appointment and before they even set up me up with anything they want me to pay in full on the spot. I look over the charges and notice it doesnt have any of my dental savings on it, like we talked about, and also TRIED TO CHARGE ME $375 for the CT SCAN after they said they wouldnt. Tried to get that one past me I guess? She said she would look into the savings card and let me know on the updated prices and that at least 2 of the additional cost should be covered. Ok, why wasnt that checked out now? Whats the hold up? It takes just a few mins to look up.... she said shed call and let me know I called numerous times to check in on this, never hearing back. With other dentists I had seen, my card saved me a few hundred dollars at least. Plus this place told me numerous times they would honor my rates for the card. I was even able to look it up on DentalPlans.com and prove to them the rates they gave me werent right. It should be $400-500 less. After a lot of back and forth they told me they couldnt honor it because the procedure was covered under the Groupon....ok then why are you charging me for it?? That makes no sense what so ever. Finally, they just flat out said they can't honor my saving card rates (after they said they would and every other dentist I saw did) and then informed me the dentist had reviewed my case again and thinks its best I go elsewhere. Ya, I do to considering you are trying to fix teeth they dont need to be fixed and just take my money. He decided I should go else where because I fought for the prices I should have received and he didnt want to give them to me. If you decide to be a part of the Cigna Savings Plan you are suppose to honor the rates not try to scam customers out of them. A true artist! My dad, Lord rest his soul, was one of the best, most talented artistically, and kind dentists. I guess that's why I love Dr Xhelo so much.... a true artist who is kind, does his own work, and to your specifications. You literally get what you want! Your teeth and smile aren't put into a "category", aka "just like everybody else's". I had some slightly crooked teeth on my lowers, all my life, so I asked Dr Xhelo if he would do that on my new implants, and even my own family didn't know it was a denture!! First, my biased opinion: Nice assistants, but this practice is not worth recommending to friends or family. Facts: 1. On my first visit, Dr. Shuaipaj recommended some $1600 worth of treatments. Practicing common sense, I sought a second opinion with another dentist who told me I only have 1 cavity, cost: $250. 2. Not sure why, but they've been billing the WRONG insurance for the past year. Finally I received a bill a year later stating insurance denied payment, and that I owed $800+ in dental treatment. Called my dental insurance, who told me they never even made the claim, even though I've called their office many times to let them know they were billing the wrong insurance. read more

Went here earlier this week, I found a lot of reviews for Elite outside of Yelp (I know... for shame)... but the reviews were all good. There was no waiting and Dr. Shuaipaj was very honest about my teeth... it of course helps that I basically didn't have any problems, but again he didn't push for anything like the first review had mentioned. The assistants were very friendly, but they did not offer me a gold star for no cavities :) I've already told my wife to make an appt here and once my kid is old enough, I'll be taking her there as well. read more

Dentists were awesome, along with the front desk staff etc. From what I understand it was recently sold out, and is now run by a commercial company. Big difference! I wasn't aware of the changes until after I had work done. Big surprise once I recieved my bill. Of course they didn't let me know that they also changed insurance companies and would only take a certain percentage of mine. Raised their prices, and changed thier insurance, but don't let you know what your bills going to be until your done with your service! By then it's too late! I suggest you stay away! Really liked this place then they started canceling appointments on me. They called me on the day of my appt asked if I could come an hour and a half earlier. I could not since I was at work. They said ok and hung up. Then as I'm driving to the appt after leaving work early, they call and say the dentist has an emergency. I was in a lot of pain too! It happened more than once. Then when I asked for my X-rays so I could move on it took 4 calls before I actually got them. Not sure what changed over there but it's unfortunate. read more

Excellent dentists and technicians. The billing process and office manager are an absolute NIGHTMARE!!! I've received statements saying I owed several hundred past due dollars. When I ask for an explanation the office manager refuses to provide a breakdown showing procedure cost, what I paid, what insurance paid and what's still open. Not a lot to ask for just to ensure they are accurately billing me - important as I've found major errors 3 times in the past. What I'm told to do is contact my insurance company. Definitely NOT a customer focused process. I've been going for several years and have finally reached my breaking point, especially after a recent call when the office manager told me she was not going to provide a breakdown until AFTER I paid the outstanding balance - which I have no idea why I owe. read more

They are awesome! here is why I needed three implants and one crown. I shopped around and visited 6 Dentist. I was found out that the dentist at Elite Dental Care were the only dentist that use a fixture to drill into your bone for the implants, all the other dentist were just drilling free hand and i didnt feel right about that. Not only did Elite have the best procedures they worked with me on price and were just awesome to work with, my implants are in and work fantastic for the right price. Buyer beware. One star is too much. These types of dentists give the profession a bad name. I went here using a Groupon for a dental implant.( $1999). The doctor and staff were extremely nice. They addressed my implant groupon with ease and explained all of the extra items needed that were not included. Then they suggested while they prepare the implant that I should really replace the filling on a tooth next to it with a crown. ok...it sounded be proactive, so I said yes. Total bill incl. groupon $4281.80. Months passed and I went 2 times to get the mold made for the included crown on my implant. The first visit they didn't have the material needed to make the mold, but really pushed that I needed a root canal on another tooth. Dr. Xello banged on that tooth and raised his hands in the air and carried on and on how he couldn't believe that I couldn't feel the pain- that I must have such an incredible threshold for pain. (not true- I am a big baby when it comes to tooth pain.) Something just felt really wrong, so I went back to my regular dentist for a second opinion. He took x-rays and couldn't see anything that would warrant a root canal. He suggested that if I wanted another reasonable opinion, I should go to Midwest Dental Clinic in Downers Grove- at the time they were giving free root canals and another set of x-rays would be about $30. I went to the dental clinic. They also confirmed that I didn't needed a root canal. Had I not been suspicious of Dr. Xellos diagnosis, I would have had a root canal on a healthy tooth and spent at least another $1200.00. Bad way to drum up business. read more

Today I officially completed my Invisilign journey and couldn't be more ecstatic! The journey was a piece of cake till I received my retainers. Since I only had to wear them at night, I realized that during the day my gap in my front two teeth were shifting apart a little. I contacted Elite and they got me in right away and we decided to go with permanent retainers which definitely put me at ease about them ever shifting back. Also I saw Dr. Mazar Shuaipai at that appointment because Dr. Xhelo Shuaipaj was off that day; he was awesome and he was hilarious. He had me laughing the whole time when him and the dental assistant were molding my mouth. A few weeks later, I was called that the permanent retainers have arrived and we made an appointment. Dr. Xhelo Shuaipaj put the permanent retainer on me when my gap was completely closed again (I took my overnight retainers off prior to the appointment so the gap would be closed). The day after I had the permanent retainers put on, I noticed my gap came back and it was even bigger than last time. I was so upset and felt helpless at this point; my gap just refuses to stay shut. I emailed Elite with pictures of my gap forming again and they contacted me and told me to come back that we have another solution; she told me about bonding my front teeth and that it would match the color of my teeth. It sounded great but my concern was cost because I know that procedure is expensive; she tells me its free of charge because of the hassle I went through! I was so happy that I was even swearing in excitement lol. Well this morning I went there and Dr. Xhelo Shuaipaj told me he was going to bond my two teeth together and that I will still stay with the top permanent retainer; I am desperate plus I trust him so I said lets do it. He did the procedure and not only is my gap nonexistent but he even fixed this annoying small chip on my front tooth. I was lost for words, he didn't have to do that but he takes pride in his work and aims to please his clients. I am beyond pleased with my teeth and the whole staff is amazing, even the receptionists. Oh and if you want a boost of self confidence, definitely see Dr. Xhelo Shuaipaj because he makes you feel like a model lol. read more

BEWARE!!!! Unless you have a pile of money to hand over to the dentist DO NOT go here! While their work is very good they are not HONEST about what the total COST is going to be. After apply for GE care credit for $3600 and my dental insurance paying $2000 I was under the impression that I had covered the total cost of my treatment - but NO when I went for what I thought was my final appointment I was told I owed an additional $2000! I am still paying off GE and have a missing tooth since I was unable to pay the additional $2000. I feel I was not FULLY INFORMED of what the TOTAL treatment was going to cost. If I was fully informed I could have just had my tooth pulled - which would have been covered by insurance instead of ending up owing GE and having an unfinished procedure. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this dental practice!! An intense fear of the dentist kept me away for years and when it became necessary to seek treatment, I turned to Yelp for help. I chose Elite Dental Care based on their positive reviews and I was not disappointed. The staff has a genuine affection for one another and they extend that to their patients. Dr. Manzar and Melissa make a great team and it is apparent they have worked together for a long time. I opted for sedation, but for future care based on my comfort level with this practice, I don't think it will be necessary. I'm sure there are many qualified dentists in the area, but if you want to understand the treatment necessary, the costs associated with it, AND get great results with excellent follow up care, don't look any further than this practice. Almost same exact experience as Danny's. Same insurance scam regarding a prior balance. I paid a portion of it, and several times asked for specific details. None ever produced. Same high quote. Root canal and crown, over $2000. Went to another dentist, root canal and filling, about $500. Regarding Elite, very good dentist and assitant. Office staff changes as frequently as the weather. I would have liked to stay with this practice but after several years decided to go with another dentist. If you have good insurance give Elite a try, but constantly monitor your balance owed... In 2003 I started going to this new dentist in Westmont called "Elite Dental." The guy was EXPENSIVE to begin with, but I had a lot of work to be done. He would drop dental tools on my face and sometime on my teeth when he was working on them. So bad you could hear the "CLANK!" Him and his assistant would be arguing with each other while working on my teeth. Like a heated argument. Awkward. His female assistant was constantly hitting on me. Not that she was a bad lookin woman cuz she wasn't. I had a gf and it's kinda weird being that I'm a patient and all. She knew I had a gf and was trying to get me to hang out or get my number. One time the dentist shot me up with Novocaine and left the room for it to take affect. I started to doze off since it was at the end of my work day. I wake up to her touch and grazing/petting the side of my face. The straw that broke the camels back was he was putting some adhesive on something after filling a cavity he worked on and THANK GOD MY EYES WERE CLOSED cuz he dropped this adhesive on my eye lid!!!!! He had to use some weird chemical to get it off and when the visit was over I asked him what the weird smelling chemical was. He said, "well I had to use this remover to get the adhesive off if you ever wanted to open your eye again." SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?!? Needless to say that was my last time going there. And I was only a patient for a couple months. By far the most unprofessional dentist or ANY business I have ever been to. Careful about going there because they are notorious for telling you to get things done that are not necessary. Good luck everybody. read more
