Blue lives matter!! Awesome officers, very clean precinct. If you're new to New York it's best to ask the officers for directions they know their way around. God bless them

This police precinct from what I've been told, covers the Times Square area. The satellite building is cool looking and styled to appear like the other theatre buildings. If I were a cop, working in that area Serbs exciting. Unfortunately, this article isn't to discuss the beauty of our rosy world, but rather a thorny commentary regarding the lack of professionalism some officers of the law continue to uphold. Today, while walking through a once vibrant city, I overheard a few teeny cops talking. It surprised me to to find out that they were commenting about my apparent appearance. They assumed my sexual orientation in discussion by referring to me as someone who's a "cocksucker" if they meant what it outwardly means. He was large set and blonde, so was his female partner. She hushed him as they walked away. It rude, either way. If it was something acceptable to publicly say, then hushing him wouldn't have occurred. Maybe he wanted something from me, other than gaining my attention. lol The word has been used interchangeably, like certain racial or ethnic slurs. It's not always what it seems, although I suspect it for what is meant. It's an offense term to use regarding anyone nor is it anyone's business what one does privately. If it weren't for screamers, then probably vocal expressions of disapproval wouldn't be as prevalent. Then again, everyone has the right to be as obvious and as screaming as they so choose. I wasn't sure entirely, as I'm not what was said, but still find it offensive non the less. In these times we're living, you'd think these cops, as stressful and dangerous as be their jobs, would find it in their best interests to show greater kindness and peace towards others. I'm no saint, but I deserve better treatment in my time. Life is short and society has gone crazy, we may not agree on all topics and surprisingly agree others, but either way let's try and keep it cool. I suspect having a mostly youthful police department can cause immaturity and unprofessionalism from within the police department. Adults seldom speak in such a way. At least, the real adults I know and belong. I wanted to share a couple of pictures. I'm not looking to cause trouble, but rather to get it out there for good reason. As per the great cops out there risking their lives, especially under these current crazy circumstances, be safe and thanks for your hard work. One star for the glitzy starry looking Times Square satellite office, another two for ease of finding a cop should one be in need and the other for the good cops that do exist.

Response time is horrible when there is violence at the local DMV. Panic buttons are hit and they still do not come

There was a time when they would hassle me just because they wanted. I frequently stop to talk and let the police officers know I appreciate them. They put their life on the line daily. I love the police officers with Four Legs, Dogs and Horses. Everyone knows I've adopted my Yelp Police Son Jason! He's not Four legged but he's still cute! I pray for Jason all day. I count the days until his retirement. This is a very sad week for the NYPD. After two years without a police officer shooting, a 31 year old police officer was shot on Monday March 25, 2024. He was a husband and father of a nine month old boy. I'm very saddened and concerned about current events in my city. NYPD is the best on the planet Earth. How can you not be proud of individuals that put their lives on the line daily to keep the people of NYC safe?

Luckily the place wasn't crowded that evening so the process was rather quick. The officers were polite and very helpful. Detective Stewart took me through the step by step process and thoroughly explained what would happen and followed up with me thereafter. The person was apprehended and I just needed to give this precinct and Detective Stewart a big shout out. I know that there is a love hate relationship with the PD but they put their lives on the line every single day and witness unfathomable things on a daily basis. These officers at this precinct treated everyone with dignity from the homeless person filing a report to me and another person. There was absolutely no difference in quality of care or etiquette. I applaud them. It isn't easy being in a field where you are the every day heroes doing great things for people every single day but you get condemn for the actions of some bad apples and have to suffer the consequences. But I digress. I'm grateful. I appreciate you. Keep up the good work!

Avoid reporting larceny cases here. They simply don't care (or maybe don't want on their precinct's…read morerecord). I came in during a quiet morning to report that my rent checks were stolen and altered after being dropped in a USPS mailbox within their district. I wasn't expecting a full investigation -- I just wanted the incident on record, thinking it might help prevent future cases. While the sergeant I initially spoke with when I walked in was polite, the rest of the experience was disappointing. I waited for over an hour while being told they were "busy" by the booking officer who set there doing other things, effectively ignored, yet I could clearly hear joking around and saw multiple officers and detectives walking back and forth. I was the only person there trying to report a crime, and eventually I just left. Maybe the response is different if you've been physically assaulted, but for larceny crimes, don't expect much to anything. As someone who has always supported law enforcement, this experience genuinely made me lose some respect especially for my neighborhood precinct.
