Daigle Electric - Kitchen remodel

This is a follow-up to our previous review, post renovation. Daigle Electric returned to our house…read moreto do massive amounts of electrical work for our kitchen renovation. Mike came for the first round to work with our contractor to discuss the needs of the new kitchen, including GFI updates, kitchen island outlets and pendants, new LED recessed overhead lights, and under cabinet lighting and floor heating. They also made recommendations based on new codes coming into play over the next couple of years so that we would be compliant. That kind of attention to detail was most welcome. John, the Master Electrician who came to the house later, easily guided two young apprentices over 2 days of full-on work. John was amazing, listening to my questions, assisting me in last minute decisions, and making certain the customer was happy. John was very insistent in making sure we were happy and pleased with their work. His knowledge and background was priceless while I worked through the list of my wants and needs, he was very patient too, as I asked endless questions. They put in long days and protected our home while working cleanly and efficiently. It is rare to find such superior expertise these days, and I am grateful that Daigle Electric is willing to bring on young people into the trade and teach them properly.

I highly recommend Daigle Electric for professional and top-notch electrical service needs. We…read morecalled Mike who promptly provided a quote. His team, led by John, returned a few weeks later to provide the service. We had outdoor lighting, a transfer switch and a tv electrical box installed. They were so professional and fixed recent work done by a different supplier. It's so challenging to find someone to trust but now we did. Thanks!!

Finally, an electrician that doesn't play games. One person operation with full accountability and…read morea 'let's get it done' attitude. Good communication either through email, text or phone. I had a bucket list of items that I needed help with. I got ridiculous quotes from other electricians, $2200, $2600, $2500. Marty came by, looked at the job and had decided the best course of action what to just do Time and Materials at his hourly rate. It saved him from underestimating/overestimating and I could manage the costs fairly. Items completed: 1. Deck Post light caps: Caseta switch installation. Also diagnosing some incorrect connections (I had made incorrect connections previously). Wiring an incomplete LV wiring run to complete a 'missing' section of lights. 2. Under deck puck lights: 15 Amp box and 2nd Caseta switch installation powering puck lights 3. Troubleshooting Magnitude MLV Transformer (found bad caseta switch and worked with Lutron support to diagnose and get replacement) 4. Installed heat tape on troublesome (ice/snow) roof section I got everything done for roughly $600.00. (I bought all the materials in advance ~$100 worth and did some "brain dead" stuff myself (like running 14/2 UF wire through existing conduit). In any event, I was thrilled with T&M as was he. I believed I saved roughly $1500 by spending an hour or two myself and having Marty come in for the rest. I think I found my new 'go to' electrician in my area. Fair, honest and hard working.

This guy is a pro! Highly recommend! He's quality, good bang for the buck, and extremely time…read moreefficient. We were tight on cash and he took the time to set up the quote/ project in phases. I loved the long term plan* with EVERYTHING priced down to the penny, NO SURPRISES! Now how refreshing is that? It's been about a year since he finished "phase one" and we've gone all out ADHD on our home improvement projects, but when we finally make it back to finishing our smaller electrical projects, Marty's our man! *disclaimer: OBVIOUSLY prices will change as time passes! I will fully expect Marty to re-calculate the bottom line as we move through our future projects. THE POINT IS, you'll know upfront!

This man is a fraud. He first came to do work on my house 4 or so months ago. He installed our new…read moreservice panel and our electric bill went through the roof (700 a month). When i asked him about why that would happen he said he had no idea how to read an electric bill. As new home owners we moved on thinking it was something weve done. I then asked about out side the wall wiring and if it was ok. He said he didnt like it, but he would hook it up. We set up another day for him to work which he said he had all day because there was so much work. I asked him to run wires for a couple ceiling lights, and to hook up the rooms with exterior wiring. To which he told me to do it myself and if i needed help to call(House is plaster and lathe and we are short on cash to rip more walls and update) on his return he walked around the house and told me that he was too busy right now with christmas. We understood...we waited another month before we heard from him again. When he came back again he refused to hook up the 2 exterior wired rooms, and refused to run the ceiling lights even though i told him we needed help. Just before he left he demanded $300 for "past work"... UPDATE: He called me today demanding money, and when i told him we were waiting for him to come back to finish the work he told me i was getting upset, and that he has never in 35 years dealt with a nut job like me....You are the nut job Steve.....do yourselves a favor...dont hire this hack...
