This was the first restaurant we ate at when we arrived at our AirBnB as it was closest to us and opened during the siesta hours. The vibe is upscale and the patrons seem to be locals with money. And it requires some Euros to eat here. Prices are on the high end for portions that they serve. The service is attentive and friendly. Our servers were helpful in making suggestions for us. We ended up ordering beef tenderloin "pica-pay"for 2 (40 Euros), one order of tiger shrimp ( yes, one shrimp split in half for 15 Euros), Brazilian pork and bean stew (20 Euros), garlic shrimps (13.7 Euros), and two desserts (Quidim and pastel de nata). Everything but the stew tasted good. Lots of flavor and some kick in the garlic shrimps. They were, by far, the best garlic shrimps that we had on our two-week trip. Desserts were good too. But like I mentioned earlier the portions are small so you might want to order appropriately. Beware that certain restaurants in Lisbon serve little appetizers and charge a sitting fee. This restaurant charged each one in our party of 6 a 2.85 Euro sitting fee. That includes two small baskets of toasted bread and fried cheese balls. Kinda expensive at nearly 18 Euros for 6. Overall, a good experience in an upscale setting with attentive service. Had to take a star off because of the price point for the portion size.

Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

The fact that my husband and I got there before anyone else came, allowed us to have the most amazing conversation with the staff that works there!! Faysal greeted us and was very welcoming! As we ate dinner, Bernardo who is a waiter there, told us the history of the building etc and since no one else was there, we talked about our families and that he going to be a veterinarian...and that he has something else coming up that is going to be exciting. All through our dinner we chatted with him (as if we were having dinner at his house) and enjoyed every minute of the conversation!! It was the best part of the evening! We even got to meet Miguel the chef, and were happy to tell him his food was amazing! I can't recommend this restaurant enough!!! They only charge 19.60 euro for all you can eat!!!! I hope a lot of people read this and go to Rosa da Rua!!!

The restaurant was quaint and intimate , with a small buffet that easily fills you up. There were many options from a beef stew to a curry, a noodle dish with bacon, salad, and other options. They even explained the options to us. I truly wish we had more time in Lisbon because I would have definitely returned to try it again as the options differ nightly. I would definitely recommend this to all in Lisbon.
