We love this place!! Friday nights 1/2 price pizzas!! They are very good pizzas with lots of toppings!!! They have a really decent menu to please anyone, but the wings.... you must try their wings if nothing else. I'll drive across town just for those for our family gatherings. Everyone raves about O'Briens wings being the best anywhere! The staff is friendly and engaging, George and Alicia always make you feel like a regular. I like that! The wait staff are always prompt and friendly taking your table order and bar staff is knowledgeable and quick with orders. Hard to say it was bad service... It was no service. 5 buck cover charge for what? They keep letting people in when they can't serve the people already there. I stayed at local Hotel and walked over to the pub. Was there for 40 min. and not served. Several others left before me. read more

We used to like this place for sandwiches and a beer. However, I will likely never go back after our last visit. I ordered a martini (gin and dry vermouth) but I got a BROWN colored drink! I sent it back, but that must have offended the bartender, because the replacement drink was less that half full, and was straight vodka - no vermouth - UGH- (martini's should be made with gin unless vodka is specified). I guess the bartender(s) only bartending knowledge is how to draw beer. My wife also had problems with her food and had to send it back, and we had to wait forever for service between server visits. read more

Food was good and so were the drinks. Never been so disrespected by a staff member at a food establishment in my life, someone in my party asked for a drink that wasn't on the menu, the big guy behind the bar told us no that they couldn't make it. We saw a drink that could be made close to it with a few different ingredients, that they had behind the bar. They asked if that could be made and all of the sudden this rude lady i think by the name of Alicia yells from the bar "What the f*** do y'all not understand we don't make them!!!" "QUIT ASKING" we promptly asked for out tab and left. Will never set foot in there again... I think she's a part owner and she needs to know how to and not how to treat your customers. I've worked in the bar industry along time , I tip great im also very understanding for bad service but WOW ! It was so bad I had to leave my very first review . I have came here 3 times and every time has been terrible service! I love the food and atmosphere .I sat at the bar where I always sit and every time no one greets me , the big guy who works the bar after 5 minutes told me to hang on and he goes off to do nonsense stuff . Then 5 more minutes this newer lady had asked if I've been helped . I ask for water and chips and queso then she ask for my ID ! ! I didn't have my ID, no problem, so I sat at a table for another 10 minutes and STILL no queso ! I was about to find out why every time I'm always getting poor service . Finally I just left because that was RIDICULOUS . Won't be spending my money there read more

This place is a bit confusing to get to if you're doing it by GPS. Just remember if you come off of Kellogg to get on Oliver, stay on the service road on the right, and you should see it on the right. This place had a familiar feel to it. Once I had a cup of water, it listed a few other restaurants in town. I guess they are all owned by the same people. Joe's Sports Bar and Grill, Mulligans Pub, and a few others. O'Brien's from the inside is actually pretty nice. Plenty of TV's everywhere. Lots of specials and deals during the week, so you'll always catch a deal anytime you come by. If you're a Kansas State University sports fan, this is the place to be, as the Wichita Catbackers usually organize watch parties here. So that in itself made me a fan of the place. I came here for a basketball game to watch with a room full of purple. A great site. I had a boulevard wheat and our waitress dropped by to always check on us. Service wise they do a good job here. As for food, I haven't experienced it yet, but their menu was fairly basic bar food. I plan to come back here a few times. It's a good sports bar for the east part of the town. read more

Fairly fully packed Thursday night. Yet what appears to be a single waitress working the entire floor. Food came out quickly, and got the bill fairly quick after asking for it. But has been 30 minutes trying to pay it directly since only one waitress is swamped. Not the waitress' fault she is swamp - incompetent management. I heard from a friend that this place had the best pizza in town. Honestly, I was skeptical. But I'm a huge pizza fan and the chain places are awful. I ordered a large pepperoni and pineapple pie for pick up. It was ready when I got there, piping hot. I chose to eat a slice in the parking lot, cause pizza doesn't travel well. I ended up eating half the pie. The sauce was bright and delicious. The cheese was plentiful. And best of all, the pepperoni was cupped and crispy!! Really good deal on large pizzas on Friday (half off). Got the Big Nasty Irish as they call it on their menu this past Friday. This particular pizza is the best!! It is fully loaded; so much so that as a bachelor I get four meals out of it. The cook at this place really know how to make tasty pub food - the Cuban sandwich is always spot on (they should serve with two pickle slices - one for each half of sandwich - they will if you request it) Usually I find the wait staff and bartenders quite rude, but this past Friday, even though they were jam packed, everyone, from the bouncer to the owner were actually nice! Perhaps they have taken note of the negative comments. Note to the owner: Keep up the improved customer service and I will keep spending my money at your joint. read more

O'Briens is a great place to have a meal or stop for drinks... or both! They offer a good menu and what I've had there so far has been excellant! Their pizza is really good. I've also had the chicken queso & chips and the Irish Sandwich which consisted of layers of ham, shredded turkey & pastrami with lettuce, tomato & mayo, served on marbled rye. I added Thousand Island dressing to it too. Wow! It was so big it lasted me 2 meals and could have done a 3rd! They offer specials galore! Tuesdays & SATURDAYS of all nights they offer 2 for 1 well drinks & beer. Thursdays Budweiser beers are just $2 plus 1/2 price appetizers. Wednesday they had their large (and it was) two topping pizza for just $6.50..... LOTS more specials. I haven't gone there that often... yet... to know them all. There are a lot of tv screens around, although none that were REAL big. If you were going there to watch a major sporting event, bigger screens would be nicer. They have karaoke a couple nights a week. It can get pretty crowded on Saturday night due to their 2 for 1 drink special but it is a fun place. It is very comfortable and nicely laid out. I've been here 3 times in the last month, and WILL be back. The pizzas are very good- a nice crisp crust, good sauce & decent amount of toppings. I had the garlic chicken sandwich tonight, and it was great! Better half had the Irish Burger, and really enjoyed it, too. The fries were a little too spicy for her, but they were about right for my taste. I'd like to see a little better selection of Irish whiskey, though. read more

We had a good time. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I had the Patty Melt which was delicious. I've visited O'Briens several times this past week during my final few days in Wichita. First off, there is nothing Irish about this typical American Bar. Second, the beer is overpriced. Third, I've had better burgers from McDonalds. And last, 2 out of the 3 bartenders that served me were flat out unprofessional. I wouldn't bother stepping back in to this place. read more

Been going to this bar for a long time and it's always a great experience. The food is wonderful, especially the probation flavored wings, and the salsa. The bar staff is attentive and fast, as well as professional and kind. Alicia, who runs the place is fantastic. I give O'Brien's 0 stars actually very unprofessional. The owner was rude from when I walked in. My friend order us food it took her 20 minutes just to ask him what he wanted. Then when I got there asked for 2 shots she came back asked for my ID. I'm like I'm here all them time I don't even know if I have it on me. She looks at my ID walks away proceeds to come back and said if you have a problem i don't have to serve you. I told her that's fine just refund me for the food I haven't got yet so I can leave and go somewhere else. She refused I asked if she get the owner involved said I am the owner. I will make sure my friend reports all charges on his card as fraud. At this point she's a thief and must be doing bad. This was pure discrimination and something is seriously wrong with this lady. My husband & I wanted an Irish Pub meal so we stopped last Sunday. Opened the door to the outside lobby & it smelt like the biggest brewery that had never been cleaned. Decided to try it anyway. Walked in - bartender looked at us but didn't acknowledge us to have a seat or anything else. We looked around and didn't see any signs to seat ourselves or wait to be seated so we found an empty booth. Sat down & the table was filthy. We waited for over 10 minutes and never saw a server and the bartender was hanging out at the bar - not really all that busy. After 15 minutes of nada ( damn thing) we decided to walk out. 1st time in my life I've ever walked out of a Resturant! Less than impressed 0 Stars needs to be an option! read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. My fiance and I have been visiting this bar every couple weeks since April. Until now, it's been alright. We usually go on Saturday night, which is half-price drink night - in other words, the one night when they charge reasonable prices for their drinks. We stopped by tonight to grab a couple rounds. My fiance went to the bar to grab our last round, dug in his pockets and found that he could cover the bill for out last round, but the last $0,50 would be in dimes. Any other bar I've been to would have been fine with that, especially at last call. Here, the bartender cussed him out ("What the f*ck is this? I don't f*cking take dimes!") and pocketed ALL of the money that was handed to him. Let me simplify that a bit - the bartender refused to take my fiance's money as payment, but didn't hand it back. Instead, he KEPT THE MONEY but refused service. We spoke to the manager - she goes by Alicia, I believe - and she told us that no, they didn't take change under a quarter, then demeaned us for arguing over a drink that was half price. She then told us that we "don't have to come here"and "the exit's that way." We were fairly polite, and not acting hostile in any way. I can only think that maybe she'd had a long night, but I would think that being a MANAGER AT A BAR would mean that she's used to it by now. Basically, she said she didn't want our business because we were upset that the bartender stole from us. This isn't an issue of us not tipping, either. We always put at least a dollar per drink in the tip jar every round, and we tip the waitress whenever she brings us a drink. If you value your money, don't visit this place. I know they didn't steal much from us, but just think what they must take from overly drunk people or from people who pay with credit/debit cards. read more
