Wish I would have read the reviews for this mess of a moving company. It was a shit show of a move. Would not recommend. They were absolutely terrible! It took 9 hours to move 1 house, total of 16 hours to unload to second house. They damaged many things, the driver cut himself and bled all over my new house, didn't clean it up, my elderly mother did, he left bloody tissues around the house. They didn't put stuff back together. Driver threatened to call police on us while we were on the way back from old house with our last truck load at 11:30 at night, because we had to rent another truck at 6:30 at night. Tried to charge $1000 more when they didn't even pack 1/2 the house, we took the rest. In 3 hours! Emailed the company that day about my disgust and was told it was all my fault, we didn't do what we were supposed to. Which we did! Above and beyond! Most importantly THEY WERE NOT WEARING MASKS! I would not recommend using O'Brien's We had a move scheduled and was informed by Robert that our bed mattress would be wrapped in a protective covering and would be disassembled in the older house and reassembled in the new house. Which it was not performed. I had to ask someone to reassemble it was given an attitude about it was told that he could only do it if the other movers had left the hardware to do it. We had to wait over 3 days to get the bed setup in which we needed to go to a local Hotel. ALL of our boxes, furniture were labeled as to where they should be placed in the new home. The movers placed and packed tightly in 4 rooms with no particular order without a path to walk. It has taken over multiple months to get it placed. The move was not even completed by the date that it was promised We needed to hire 3 additional movers to assist us in completing this move across town. the intergrity and professionalism is not what we were promised. Public Service Announcement Do not do business with O'Brien's Moving and Storage in Allentown PA or Allied Van Lines. Personal Experience: Contract said they would pick up my load on Nov 5,2021. They never show up or call me. I call O'Briens and they tell me the truck broke down. I ask what plan B is. I wait 3 hours for a return call to learn about plan B. O'Brien's never calls. I call and ask to speak to the owner but I am told they are not here. I then say let me talk to the person in charge, Jeneanne Gombert. She tells me she can't pull a truck out of the air. I asked why I was not called. She says it is not my job it is the truck drivers. I wait all day for Jeneanne to call me back with a resolution. She does not so I track down Kevin Gombert, the dispatcher. He tells me the will pick up the load Monday Nov. 8. The load is picked up on Nov 8 and per the contract was supposed to be delivered on Nov 11. I spend all week trying to find out when the load will be delivered but get nothing but the run around from O'Brien's Moving and Storage. My attorney gets involved with Allied Van Lines after I went to their customer service and got no answers other than on Friday November 12, the load was still at O'Brien's in Allentown. My attorney is told the load will be delivered tomorrow, Sunday Nov 14. William Law, the Allied Customer Service Manager confirmed this in an email to me after I sent an Email to Tom Oberdorf, the CEO of Sirva, Allied's parent company. We will see. I will not hold my breath. O'Brien's and Allied have a corporate culture of non responsive behavior, no accountability and passing the buck. Do yourself a favor and hire someone else for your move. read more

The first issue which was resolved, the driver should have put a pad down between the ramp and the stoop, the stoop was damaged to the extent that my buyer complained at the walkthrough and we had to address the issue immediately upon selling the house. O'Brien's handled that incident. The main issue was in how Allied treated our damaged items. We had several damaged and one destroyed item and Allied refused to compensate us for any damage what so ever. We were not told from the start that we had to save any damaged furniture or items, the driver did not tell me to hold on to the damaged items, that he WITNESSED. I took photos of the damaged items, had 1-800-got-junk ad the destroyed items to their pile. We had a month old $445 vaccuum that came off of the truck with not only the handle destroyed, but the vaccuum was decapitated. I took the vacuum to a licensed dealer for repair as we needed it right away. The repair cost would have vastly exceeded the replacement cost so the owner sold us a new vaccuum and noted on the reciept that the vacuum was beyond repair. All in all, one $200 dresser, completely destroyed. One $1,000 patio table, tiles broken off of it. One new $445 vacuum, completely destroyed. One $200 grill, left unworking. ALLIED PAID NOTHING! I even paid $700 for insurance and allied paid nothing. I had about $2000 in damage and Allied paid nothing because they said the photos, eye witness of their own driver and the written conformation from a dealer, were not enough proof. Very very tacky. I would never ever again use Allied Moving and storage. read more

We chose O'Brien's Moving and Storage to move our family of 5 from Reading, PA to Pittsburgh. The entire process was a nightmare, from the initial meeting with Robert to the unloading of our belongings. The service was some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Zero communication throughout the entire process. 95% of our furniture was either dented, scratched or ruined. I'm talking huge dents and scratches. Our $1000 Weber grill was scratched and dented, our refrigerator door was cracked, our surround sound speakers were also scratched so bad that I can't stand to look at them anymore. That is just a few items that O'Brien's Moving and Storage ruined. The inside of the truck they used was a mess so all of our belongings were covered in black dirt/soot. The guys unloading the truck sweat all over our furniture to the point their sweat stained our furniture. If your head is covered in sweat, how can you rest a love seat and leather office chair on your head to carry it up our driveway? The sweat that was on the gentlemen's head was ALL OVER our furniture, speakers, etc. Disgusting. I should have used United Van Lines or another mover. I chose O'Brien's because they were cheaper. I tried saving some money and now we are stuck with ruined furniture that I have to look at every single day. I WOULD NOT recommend O'Briens Moving and Storage in Reading, PA. You would be better off using another more reputable moving company instead. Trust me, it will save you money in the long run. read more
