January 2 2025 I moved to SC from PA. Jarel was professional in conversation. I was disturbed at the fact the truck did not say Affordable Guys or as pictured. They did not wrap my furniture and said it would be wrapped once on the truck. When I looked it was not wrapped just covered. I was more concerned about my 20 plants. Most companies don't move plants as I had done research. The fact the truck broke down, my plants were dead upon arrival. The team of 2 young men were courteous. I was told that the truck would leave the next day so I left the next day (early morning). The weather was a little bad in VA . I was in VA when I got a call saying they were there and the truck had broke down. When I got there a "PENSKE" truck had been unloaded. I also tipped graciously. At first I thought I had a good deal but after moving back to PA I learned that I was doubled charged and my things were wrapped professional, the movers name was on the truck. I was planning on using AGM again just to see if I was going to be over charged, however after getting 2 different quotes I will not use them. read more

We booked these movers about two weeks out and told them we had a small street. They said it would be no problem. They got here and told us they cannot go down the street. I suggested an alternate street as I am familiar with small street and know a great alternitive. Immediately the guy got rude with me, he took us trying to explain the situation as us trying to argue. WE were in a loose, loose situation because us trying to work with the company was greatly misinterpreted and they were not willing to work with us on coming up with a reasonable solution. He canceled and refused to do the work. Unreliable, unprofessional and the price is not worth the hassle of not being able to count on someone. --- We called movers local and familiar with small side streets and normal parking situation immediately after and were able to move a 26 foot truck easily down our street with no issues. read more

This is a long overdue review for this company who moved us from Brooklyn, NY to Bethlehem, PA in July of 2020. We got dozens of quotes from other moving companies, and not only was AGM one of more reasonable quotes, they were also one of the only companies that felt they would be able to get it done in 1 day, as opposed to 2 days - we had a two floor, three bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, so it was a considerable sized move. They sent us 5 or 6 guys - the quote was for 3 - but Jerel didn't charge us any additional for the extra labor. They stuck to the agreed upon number. It was a long day and about a 100 mile move in the late July heat to boot, but they got us into our new home while the sun was still out. Would use them again for our next. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company and the quality of service they provide. First they live up to their name when it comes price. They truly are affordable and they are still affordable when you go over your time slot like I did. Customer service is top tier. I had an issue with 1-800-Packrat not delivering my containers. I called Affordable Guys Moving close to 9 pm on a Friday and left a message hoping they would hear it in the morning. They got back to me inside of 10 min. Outstanding! The movers themselves did such a great job packing that I didn't even need the second unit I ordered from Packrat which in turn saved me a ton of money. The movers were not careful at all with our things - over $1000 in damages. It took them a really long time to load our truck too. **adding to response from company. Over 50 blankets we're provided. The company actually told us to only provide three. We provided well over the recommended amount. I know this because they all ended up on the truck. This company just doesn't want to take ownership for what happened. They have no formal claims process for any consumer to go through because they aren't planning on taking any responsibility for your things. Secured their services in Fall '20. Not only were they on the expensive side compared to others, the movers left things of ours in their truck at the end of the move. Had I not seen the items at the point they said they were done, the items may not have made it. Specific to the move, they were efficient and got it done within the target timeframe. I asked them a couple times to unload in a specific manner to facilitate our transition afterward which didn't happen. Made things harder for us afterward. I submitted a request in September for a quote to move in November. The person I was emailing with told me that the date was available. I get a call from someone else at Affordable Guys A WEEK BEFORE the scheduled move saying that date was not available. Why wait until the week before to tell me this instead of confirming back when I submitted the quote or even a few weeks after? I then emailed the original person that sent me my quote and told them to forget it, since they couldn't move me on that date. This person then said the date was available. I had to rebook my move less than a week before due to a shady moving company I had signed on with that wouldn't return my emails or calls about the estimate. AGM had strong reviews, and they responded quickly with an estimate. I felt the estimate was on the high side but I wasn't in a position to be picky. They gave me a 5 hour minimum. I knew the move would take about 3, which it did. So I paid 2 more hours that I didn't need to. But again, I was in a bind so I just went with it. There were 3 men and one truck. They were professional, handled all my items with care. I had a large table going into the basement that wouldn't fit and they took the time to take the door off the basement so they could put it where I wanted. And they put the door back on, of course. I was pleased with their service and very happy nothing was damaged. They also told me they do junk removal which is helpful for future. I am a giant pain in the a$$ so if I recommend them, you can rest assured they did a good job. read more

They were pretty efficient to start and then I once we got to the townhome, I started to help. They didn't mind. I didn't want to be charged for going over 4 hours. Pros: - Fairly good price (not the lowest I was quoted during my research, but was among the lowest for a small move from storage). I also went with them because they got good reviews, so the price/review ratio did it for me. - Team of 2 arrived on time, which in my almost 1 dozen moves is a miracle - Very careful with my items, put furniture pieces together - Finished job faster than estimated - The team is prompt in answering questions. They also have an online text support Cons: - They don't let you pay cash - they require credit card and add a 3% charge on top of that. Wasn't a deal breaker for me, but if you have a big move, that surcharge could be a lot. - Did not come with any power tools for putting furniture together. Fortunately I had my own set. Make sure you have tools! We only had a bed to put together, but if you had lots of furniture to assemble or disassemble, I could see it adding time to the move - Customer service experience initially positive but they didn't follow up - I had a small billing issue. They have a minimum 3 hour job, and the quote was for 3.15 hours which is what I signed off on. I thought that if it was less than 3 hours they would charge for the minimum 3, although what was also bizarre was that at the end of the move when the movers "clocked out", I signed their iPad and the price shown on the iPad was $100 lower than the estimated (because the move was even shorter). I thought, great! So I tipped them more since I thought they saved me money by working efficiently. They ended up getting billed for the 3.15 hours. I called and we came to the agreement that it was a misunderstanding. They agreed to refund me (even though it was only 0.15 hours), but it's been a few weeks and I still haven't gotten the refund. This was the worst company ever. They stood around like they didn't know what to do. Over charged. One of them pissed in a water bottle and left it in my basement. The management is awful. He states we lied an it when it was caught on camera! Don't waste your money, find someone else. Bunch of thugs who didn't even like their boss. Awful experience...never again! Got a quote to pick up some stuff to be disposed. Was given a quote and I asked if I can discuss with my wife prior to picking a date. Call back less than 48 hours later and I'm told that the service listed on their website isn't provided anymore. Don't waste my time advertising services you don't offer. You were basically the first hit when googling for the service in the area. Don't buy those keywords and don't optimize for something you don't offer. It's not like you can upsell to a different service so you gain nothing but bad mindshare. Update: I hadn't selected a date. I was open to other times. I couldn't pick another date.
