Like many others, our school contracts out to them for all sports photos. My son has taken photos with them with 2 different sports and the quality of the photos just isn't there. The poses and backgrounds are fine, but both times the pictures are blurry/not sharp. The kid is literally standing still and the picture quality is just subpar. We have local photographers that take action shots and are clearer, crisper and better. Not sure why this company has the stronghold on Hart district but from now on I think I'll just stick to DIY or using an independent photographer. read more

This company is a racket! They are the only option given for senior pictures from the local schools and they know it so they take advantage of families. Incredibly overpriced and it's ridiculous that you have to make an appointment to pick up your pictures. Why? So, they can try to sell you more overpriced items. They made my daughter feel bad when she didn't want to wear the off the shoulder black nonsense top and that isn't very kind. Also, I had a billing issue and left a message for the manager who didn't call me back so I called again and got hung up on and then called back...etc. They give you this whole script, "we're a small business, not Walmart" is what they said to me regarding their overinflated pricing. Overpriced, irritating online purchase experience. I had to call and ask for assistance ordering and spoke to someone who has never actually gone through the buying process with their e-commerce setup. Then to find out the digital download of the photos I purchased wont be delivered for a week because they "have to manually add the background". Despite the fact that I called your office in advance twice, to clarify that there would be two different orders from two divorced parents for the same student, you gave my prepaid ($339.00) order to my ex-wife. I am VERY disappointed with O'Connor Photography. I chose my son's senior picture for the yearbook and they submitted a different one instead of the picture we chose. The photographer was super inexperienced and the people "dressing" for the session picture were totally clueless. Awful. The price for 3 pictures is way too expensive and now a picture that we did NOT choose will be in the yearbook. TERRIBLE. They are profiting off of our children's hard work and accomplishments. This studio was warm and welcoming, and I was immediately made to feel right at home. Mrs. O'Connor took my photos, several dozen, actually, in different poses, facial expressions, and from different angles. She was extremely polite, respectful, and helpful in helping me into different positions for my photos She made made me feel right at home the entire time, and I spent most of it laughing, which turned out to be the exact facial expression we were both looking for. The proofs are fantastic - trying to narrow this down to just a few was done with her in just a few minutes, and we settled on one that, by coincidence, we both agreed was an excellent photo. Paid 500 for a senior picture package and have to pay an extra 200 to keep them. Wow. Absolutely ridiculous. You'd think that the 500 is more than enough to be able to keep the pictures that were taken of you- especially considering they used my picture to advertise their services on their website. Funny thing is that even if I leave a 1 star review the kids still have no choice on the matter considering they work directly with the school. I'm not surprised that they have such a low rating. I will never understand why my daughter's school chose this company to do their pictures. The quality of work is so sloppy. My daughter's pictures l, which were not cheap, had a white strip on the top of each that should have been cut off before being given to me. The white strip contained my daughter's information along with the school's information. It looks like it's for them to know which pictures go where. On top of that they put their name on the bottom right corner of the pictures. I'm buying pictures of my child not a business card. I reached out to her school and they said that happens all the time. One admin stated that she had a picture one time that included the entire box her child was sitting on which was obviously not supposed to be in the picture. There are so many other choices for photographers out there. Don't waste your money on this company. The star rating for this company is accurate. Being a good photographer and business person running a good business are two different things. The person who answers the phone and is at their front office is immature, rude and should be fired to say the least. The photos come with their business logo and you have no option to remove it. We don't pay all of this money to be an advertisement for your company. Ordering online should be easier for you, not more difficult. My order was not fulfilled and when I asked in person, they said it was already sent to the school. No apology and she could maybe help look into it. She said ask your school and if they don't have it, MAYBE we can reprint it. I had to sit in front of their office, call the school who called the teacher to confirm that my child did not get it and walked right back in there to tell them. She promptly walked into the back and got an extra picture and just handed it to me. Panoramic photo just handed to me. No cover or envelope to protect it. The money we pay for these pictures are not worth it at all. There are so many great photographers and businesses we can choose from. There is no doubt that I will be sharing my dissatisfaction to the schools and parents about the poor organization and business practices as well as customer service that this company displays. There needs to be another place where we can get our senior pictures. We were late doing our photos (my son kept putting it off) so we came in last minute. They told us we would not be able to pick our picture because it was so last minute. My son and I figured, how bad can they do when picking the picture... it was like the most unqualified person came in and picked the worst picture out of the bunch. The majority of the pictures had a neutral expression and the one AND ONLY picture where he made a weird face was the one they chose. What kind of photography place doesn't know how to pick one of or the best picture unless they did it on purpose which is a possibility, because honestly, when I walked through their lobby, there were nice pictures on the wall, that means someone knows how to pick pictures, except for the idiot who picked ours. I am absolutely disgusted! I left work early to rush over and select and purchase my daughters graduation pictures. (Was planning on buying all of them). When I get there I had to use the restroom terribly. I was told that their restroom was for employees only! I told them I was a customer there to buy pictures. They still said no. When I asked where to go they shrugged their shoulders and said they don't know. When I said I was leaving and wouldn't buy a thing they couldn't care less.There is no restroom near. I had a wonderful in-person experience here last semester but I'm very disappointed in how my pictures turned out. Two or three of the outfits I chose for my senior pictures I couldn't purchase because there was a ridiculous amount of lipstick on my teeth and no one bothered to tell me or edit it out. They said numerous times they would edit the pictures, so I'm not understanding why they couldn't do something as simple as that. It's also OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive to purchase any of the pictures from the company. I ended up only buying two pictures that turned out well, ones that didn't have lipstick on my teeth of course, and it cost me around $130 for low resolution digital downloads. The cost only goes up from there. That's only for two pictures! It could easily cost you $600-700 dollars at least to get all of the pictures if you really liked them. That's just plain wrong. I'm not returning ever again after the result of my time and a lot of my money wasted. Had my pictures actually turned out nicely and they weren't a bloody fortune to actually receive, I would definitely return since the costumer service while there was amazing (which is the only thing keeping it from a one star rating). The saving grace was the nice photographer but I don't know why they charge so much considering you get below par customer service and a photo shoot location that looks like an abandoned warehouse. Kayleen was a nightmare to talk to. She's rude and a terrible representation of O'Connor. Besides that the exuberant prices are not worth it. You pay a great deal of money for them to take your pictures then get charged hundreds of dollars to actually buy. Just finished the senior pictures which was $54 and I may end up just not buying any packages. I'd rather lose $54 than $500. I went to O'Connor Photography to have a personal photo shoot done. I had several shots in mind I wanted done and met with Phil Fernandez and Mike O'Connor. I wanted a few shots done against a "green screen" so that they could add the background I wanted. Since I would be wearing a kilt and a uniform shirt it took a little extra time to get the poses done at the right angle as not to reflect back on the camera. The pictures came back great. I am very pleased. On a side note, they are a touch pricey but if you want quality you have to pay for it. I recommend O'Connor for your holiday family photos or business photos. read more

SCV Youth sports used them. The telephone customer service is terrible. I ordered a digital download, paid for everything and filled out the forms when the picture was taken. I called to check on the status of my order after the rest of the team received their pictures. I was told to email and inquire with the digital download people. I sent 5 emails and called back again, I was informed that I needed to re-send my information (all the information that I filled out on the order form weeks before) to the email address and i needed to wait at least 3 weeks for a reply. That is the only way I will get my photos. No help from anyone on the phone. there was nothing she could look up or check on. I was told there were hundreds of people before me waiting for an email. I would have appreciated an Auto-Reply saying that my email was received. The only kuddos i will give is the to friendly photographer and his assistant. They were great. read more

Senior pictures advice here . Here's my personal experience and advise. Personally I think this place is awful. When I tried to schedule senior pictures they never answered the phone. It seriously took me 2 weeks of calling to get someone to answer. The customer service is just dreadful and everybody has an attitude. As most of you have read this place is outrageously expensive for very few pictures. Unfortunately all the surrounding schools have a contract with this company to get your senior pictures in the yearbook. No problem... make an appointment for senior pictures so you have your yearbook picture. Now if all the seniors in SCV start calling other photographers to book private photo shoots maybe O'Connor photography will stop price gouging. If you find a better priced photographer in SCV willing to do senior pictures, please list it on this page. O'Connor photography feels they have a Monopoly on senior portraits and they could care less if you're happy or not because you're only seen you once. Chances are you're not coming back anyways so what do they care you're not a repeat customer. End the monopoly. Here's a great senior project. Talk to your leaders at the school about getting a new photography option for seniors due to cost. Inquiring about getting the Cap, Gown and tassel needed for the photography. Reach out to a few photographers in SVC and loan them the items for senior pictures. It's too late for me. Graduation is here just trying to help the next group of seniors. In review... Cannot say enough good things about this company. As someone who grew up in the SCV, I was accustomed to Mike and his crew taking care of all the school pictures. But boy did I ever receive a shock when I realized how great they were with adults too! They are always ALWAYS on time, friendly, accommodating, and professional. Don't like your double chin? Only (think you) have one good side? They'll adjust the camera angle and lighting to make you love your pic. Highly recommend for everything from individual shots to family photos to large corporate/team shots. They do it all and they do it all well. read more

I gave up and called around only to find out, other studios closer to home, were honest, professional and fair priced. We chose William Edwards for both our seniors photos, family portraits and a romantic album for my hubby! So happy they are still in business after all these years. read more
