David and Jody were great! We scheduled them during the holiday season, which I understand is a very busy time for them and they were super accommodating. Scheduling to begin with was easy; I met with David and he made sure he understood the vision for my family photos. He offered great suggestions on locations. They are conveniently located, with lots of parking and great hours. The only downside is that they are a little pricey and a little old school. They called me a couple of times which honestly caught me off guard since I do everything via text or email at this point. Maybe it's the millennial in me, but I do think everything can be done without a phone call. When he asked me to leave a yelp review he said he would send me a "link" to make sure it went to his page, which also honestly confused me since I can just look it up and leave a review. It cost more for one digital photo than one 5X7, which I've never heard of before. Although they are expensive, there is no denying that the photos are very high quality and superbly edited. I am very happy with the end result and think the pictures are amazing! The day of the shoot was really fun. It had been two years since my entire extended family got together, so it was a really great way to spend the morning. David and Jody were really nice, professional and the photos turned out great! We met David and Jody who are the owners of R and R Creative Photography at the Bellisima Bridal show in February 2022. We scheduled the initial one hour getting to know you appointment a couple weeks later that turned into 2+ hours of getting to know each other and when we left, we said we want them to be our wedding photographers. The major reasons for choosing R and R were: -They offer unlimited time the day of the wedding while other wedding photographers offer packages by the hour. -They always have a minimum of 2 photographers. -We felt very comfortable talking with them about the vision for our wedding. -Some people are not very photogenic and they were able to address our concerns from day one. They shot our engagement photos at Placerita Nature Center in June 2022. Again, the one hour engagement session turned into over two hours of shooting. As a person who's non-photogenic, it was rough trying to find a photographer who would take great photos with someone who doesn't necessarily like taking pictures. I was so lucky to find David and Jody, because they're truly two of the most incredible photographers (and people) I have ever had the opportunity to work with. From the first meeting, David was welcoming, informative, and made us feel very comfortable. We checked out his previous work via their website at randrphotography.com and through his albums at his location. David really goes over the value of having two photographers and staying with you all day, and this proved to be one of the best decisions we made. We had so many beautiful photos from all angles, because we had a family team with us. The first time we were photographed, David and Jody met us in Malibu at Paradise Cove. Surprisingly, my (now) husband and my rigidity disappeared, and David & Jody made it a really fun experience for both of us. After taking a few shots, the husband and wife duo would walk over and show us a sneak peek of the breathtaking photos they took. I am still amazed at how incredible those photos came out. Fast forward to the wedding--David met me at the Hyatt (where my bridesmaids and I were getting ready) while Jody and their son were at Robinson Ranch with my husband. David took a few photos of us getting ready, and off we went to the venue. The Ross family took photos of every moment of our day, from the first look to the last dance. I should say right up front that I am related to the owners of R&R Creative Photography. One of the owners, Jodi, is my husband's cousin. But, I would never have trusted them with taking all of the photographs for our wedding unless I believed in the quality of their work. Prior to the wedding Jodi had us come over and meet with the two photographers that would be working at the wedding. Jodi and her husband had another event that day so they were unable to do the photographs themselves. We spent a long time discussing what we wanted out of the photographs and Jodi asked us a lot of questions prior to the big day. One of the photographers, David specializes in candids. The other photographer, Danny is also a relative of Paul's and did most of the group photos. One other thing that I loved was that Jodi showed me tons of photographs ahead of time so that I could pick and choose certain styles, poses, and settings that I liked. Plus, she didn't think my insane list of demands was all that weird: please make me look as fabulous as possible, photograph me so that my butt doesn't look that big, try to make Paul as relaxed as possible, and oh so many other neurotic requests I am sure! :) Jodi also made a complete list of every family member that was attending and made sure that the photographers knew all of the information ahead of time. That was great, especially for an extended family like mine. The photographers that actually worked our event were fantastic. David, the one in charge of taking the candid shots really captured every little detail of the wedding. He does an amazing job at taking the arty kind of shots, at odd angles, which I love. It was amazing to look at the photographs, we felt like they were back there again. The disc had about 500 photographs on it! Danny, who took most of the group shots, also did an amazing job. They captured every possible combination of family members that I can imagine! Now that I have seen the disc with all of the photographs on it, I am 150 thousand percent pleased with our decision to have Jodi's photographers do our wedding. They came out beautiful! They did exactly what we asked for: lots of candids, lots of informal shots of Paul and I, and of course all of the group photographs. Also, I am able to work with Jodi to pick out which photos we want copies of and because everything is digital we are able to get them in black and white or color. Oh, and they also do the black and whites where just a couple items are in color, such as flowers or a dress. Best photographers money can buy. When we were looking around for photographers they were professional, had a ton of albums to view and were willing to meet and go over the routine. On the wedding day they were there at the hotel before I was and they stayed all the way until the music ended and the guests left. There was no shortage of time here as it was almost 11 hours of non stop pictures. The best part was that they knew what lighting worked best for each picture and they go pictures with everyone. All the groomsmen. All the bridesmaids. Both families. Every combination you can imagine. When the wedding was over we had almost 800 pictures to choose from and every one of them was a perfect shot.
