Marvin came out to give an estimate. He was very courteous, prompt, and reassuring, and provided a reasonable cost to start the next morning in advance of the approaching bad weather system. He emailed a contract that evening along with his license and insurance verification. Ronnie then came on time the following day with his four-person crew, along with a big truck, wood chipper, chain saws, and all the necessary equipment. He confirmed the tasks to be done and then got started right away. His hard-working team was extremely skilled in safely climbing trees, cutting down branches, and carrying everything away. Even for removing tall trees that were close to the house or power lines, they were able to rig ropes so that very heavy branches were able to essentially parachute down to the ground without any problem. They worked diligently all day and when complete with the trees, they used a leaf blower and rake to clear all the small debris throughout the whole yard. Before payment we did a final walk-thru to inspect the job and ensure full satisfaction. We were very happy with their quality, professionalism, timeliness, and collaboration from start to finish and definitely recommend M&R for superb tree services.

The project included removing the old asphalt and installing a new base and asphalt layer. There were some delays in starting the project, and during the work we were informed there was more asphalt from our old driveway to be removed than originally estimated, resulting in an additional $3,000 cost. After completion, we noticed a small area of the new driveway where the asphalt had an imperfection - a small area was crumbling. We documented the issue with photos and called Immanuel to ask not just about repairing it, but also to learn what might have caused it, and how could we prevent it going forward. So we were looking for guidance as new driveway owners. However, what we thought was a small issue escalated unexpectedly because Immanuel responded in a very defensive and aggressive manner. It left us with the impression he wasn't at all interested in looking after the customer after the initial work was done and payment received. So the work was of decent quality and a good value, but the communications were problematic. We would have appreciated more collaborative and solution-focused communication. UPDATE May 18: The day after this initial review was posted, Immanuel contacted us. In a few days he was able to come by and fix the small area and answer our questions in a short time, which is all we wanted in the first place. We parted peacefully, but we'll hire another contractor to do our next sealing and maintenance visits.

Turns out we have some really odd connections... nice connections... but the kind where you are like, wow, maybe this was supposed to be. Jennifer was VERY prompt and called me the next day to say she was in the area if I wanted her to stop by and measure the driveway. I saw where someone said they got a military discount. I didn't know about the military discount, my whole family including me are military, but it wasn't mentioned. However, because we were flexible enough to work around their schedule and when there were in the neighborhood, she said they could give us a discount. It did take a couple of weeks to get it scheduled b/c I had to find financing and then I really needed that price break, so I was trying to work with their schedule. But Jennifer was great and kept in touch checking on me throughout the following weeks for when I was able to secure the funds. To sum it up, Driveways is a family owned and operated company with Jennifer, her dad, and her brother all there on the day they laid the driveway. They were VERY fast, very efficient, and worked to get everything done in an hour and a half. It was fun to watch them work! I would recommend them to family and friends.
