Wait time was long . Doors didn't open to 5:30 on the dot. Once we started walking in it was colorful spacious and well lit. My nephew was scheduled for a 5:30p ice skating and a 6:30pm snow tubing . He loved both activities. No problems and he got a good amount of time with both activities. Food trucks were available. Holiday pop up bars available. Pricey for sure but at this point it's expected. I got two drinks with souvenirs light bulbs for a whopping $19 each . Chicken wings from a food truck called a wing and a prayer were cooked hot and fresh to order $14 . Live shows, pop up bars, hula hoop girl, stilt girl, plenty of picture opportunities. Pop up stores as well. Staff were plentiful and eager to assist in all areas. Kudos for turning this event into something fun .

The smaller trails get complicated through reported 109 acres, but is straight forward through paved 2 mile sections. I haven't been to team events here.

The playground was undergoing renovation in November 2021. It's fenced, a major safety benefit, and right next to the pavilion and restrooms. Behind the playground a small woody area has a nature trail. Or, several nature trails. With dead leaves covering it, overgrowth obscuring part of it, and no signage it was difficult to tell at times if I actually was in the trail or carving my own. I did sometimes come to dead ends and had to retrace my steps. I found a couple of benches along the path(s). The trail is hilly and uneven. Obstacles such as downed trees lie across it. However, with houses around the three sides that aren't parkland it's easy to navigate your way back to the parking lot if you end up lost.

It's located, no surprise, in the city's old section near Mid Rivers Mall Drive and Interstate 70. Located alongside the interstate it's not a serene setting but provides satisfactory amenities. It's smallish with an updated playground, baseball field, horseshoe pits, and three covered picnic areas--one large enough for big groups. The park is also used for special events such as carnivals, fairs, and the annual city picnic. Restrooms available.
