Mister dragged himself to bed much later. Turns out our new BFF had just walked down for a paper and his wife had to come collect him. The soup of the day was tomato basil which I had and it was outstanding. I have the prime rib for the main course and it was cooked to perfection and, of course, served with some potatoes. However, the back door was open and many locals came in through the back run after the front was closed. So check the back door even if the front looks closed. They have live music Wed and Sun nights and is a mix of traditional Irish music and more contemporary music. There was a quartet playing when we got there but various folks in the bar swapped in and out to play different instruments or sing songs. The quality of music was surprisingly good. The crowd is mostly locals with a smattering of tourists who seem to have been referred there by other locals (possibly hotel staff). The folks there and the barkeep were very friendly and welcoming. The prices were very reasonable (though I don't have a good base of comparison within Cashel). Would definitely recommend the pub for a local pub experience (especially on a night they have live music).

Food: 5/5 Stars The French onion soup I ordered as my starter was delicious! The house red wine was great. I can't remember what I ordered, but I ended up ordering another. I ordered the fish stew as my main course and that was amazing. They bring it to you in the cast iron pot so it stays nice a hot. The French bread was great too.
