I ordered the fish and chips and the wife got the bangers and mashed. It probably took 7-10 minutes for our food to be ready. While waiting, I enjoyed my pint of blond ale. I liked the batter they used for my fish. It was crunchy and slightly on the thicker side. The fish was seasoned well. The chips were also good, but nothing to write home about. I did, however, really like the bangers. It was steamed in beer I believe and had a really good flavor. Definitely a good place to go if you just want to chill with a cold one and some decent food.

People who go there are naturally friendly, and the confined spaces help too. There's also a decent-sized outdoor terrace where, once again, I keep finding myself chatting with someone new. Otherwise it's rather quaint, but unremarkable. Good pub food, nice traditional decor, and prices in line with Waterloo (ie. slightly more expensive than it should be). The main problem is that it lies far out of the town centre, so if you start your night where the rest of the nightlife is, it's a bit of a trek to get to. The one thing I do lament is that the staff aren't Irish. Don't get me wrong, I love the Belgians, but there's something very comforting about Irish staff in an Irish pub.
