Owners were absentee, with their young daughter as barn manager, who was rarely around. Overall was not terrible, but for amount of board charged was expecting more care and attention to the horses and owners.

Both trainers have their own scheduling board so the students can see which horse they are riding. So far every time I have come my trainer has been on time and was already in the barn by the time I came. The horses there are well-trained and gentle. The facilities there are very nice. My lessons have also been very good as well. Each lesson I rode the full duration and was not shorted at all. My only complaint is that there is no dressage arena(or arena emptied of jumps). This means that working on dressage can be difficult since you can't work in the full size of a dressage arena. There are also no letters so for those who are just learning dressage this can make things more difficult.

Upon arrival, there's plenty of visitor parking in front of the stables. I took a Lyft but there didn't seem to be any issues. There's also room to park by the lake next door. The property is too lovely to describe - you just have to go. The Soft Society event included a specialty matcha drinks, a Pilates class, feeding the horses and making floral arrangements. The owners were on site to answer questions and support with feeding the horses. They were so patient and excited to eat the carrots and apples we had. They posed for photos and were the most gentle animals. The grounds are several acres - we did Pilates on a grassy hilltop then did the bouquets by the lake. We passed other women riding and grooming the horses in the stables. They all looked well fed, the area was clean and well maintained. By the lake - several cars were parked to fish. There's also trails to hike. They have a couple of tiny houses on the grounds too that help non-traditional people that need housing. It's a great place to visit, easy to get to and I can't wait to get back!

The ONLY thing that I did NOT like or care for is the family pet! They have a dog that's loose and runs up to guest and also jumps all over them, everyone is not an animal lover so I think they should be more considerant and keep the dog inside or tied up when there's guest on the premises. While the mission is truly incredible, our experience as volunteers didn't reflect that. We often felt unclear on expectations, received little guidance on working with the horses, and experienced inconsistent communication. At times, interactions felt distant, which made it hard to feel fully welcomed. Our final visit to the garden club--where we were initially told it was "full" without prior notice--ultimately solidified that this wasn't the right fit for us, though we appreciated Erin stepping in to let us help. That said, Monica and Dylan were wonderful and very supportive. I genuinely believe in the mission and hope the volunteer experience continues to improve with more structure and communication.

If you love to be outside and hands on…read moreworking with and seeing gains made by physically and/or mentally challenged children and adults; if you want to be around horses, if you have at least an hour to volunteer, Chastain Horse Park's Therapeutic Riding Program is the place to be. The students laugh, the parents smile, the horses are gentle, and the volunteer teams have fun helping to groom and tack horses, side walk or lead the horses during a session. The arena is covered so sun and bad weather aren't an issue. You don't have to be a "horse person" to volunteer there. After attending a two hour training Orientation, they allow you to sign up to volunteer online. There are volunteer needs almost 7 days a week at various times from 9 a.m. to as late as 6 to 7 p.m. They don't have a minimum number of hours that you must commit to but they do need volunteers to fulfill any commitment they make to help or else the disabled student cannot ride. The flexibility is great, being with these wonderful horses and working with these amazing students lifts one's spirit, opens your heart, and makes you forget about your own problems!

Her lack of specifics is highly suspect and perhaps the work of a competitor. Amber E is probably trying to reduce the ratings of a good small business that provides a great computer coding program for the kids. I stand by everything I have said in my review of stremhq.
