Pine Hill is the best investment you can give your child. Take some time to visit this place…read morepersonally, you will not regret it.

As parents, we all want the best for our children. We do our best teaching them how to speak, walk,…read moreeat, all the basics, and man does that take a lot of time and effort! So, when they get to the usual "school age", we all have to trust the teachers to continue the hard work that we have done since day 1. When I started looking into schools, I was very unimpressed by the selection that I had. I had toured 4 schools in the Fort Wayne area and not one stuck out to me. They were all the run of the mill, boring, mundane schools that focused on just getting through the day instead of really challenging the children... until I found Pine Hill. Just looking at their website got me excited! The amazing trips they went on, including meeting the mayor, visiting the historic Nickel Plate 765 steam engine, touring the art scene located in downtown Fort Wayne, all things I would LOVE to do as an adult! Every year they put on plays and many types of performances, which as SO dang cute and very well put together. Also, they are bilingual, all teachers are fluent in Spanish and they teach the children the children in both languages, making it so all the kids are fluent in both. Which is a GREAT skill to have (and great for resumes!) The student-teacher ratio is the best that I've come across in my search, making it so they get to know every student as an individual, which aides in their teaching style because they know what works and what doesn't for each student. Pine Hill is a great school, I am so grateful for the way they have helped my children grow and learn.

I am so torn about my experience. I really wanted this place to work out, as so many of my…read morecolleagues send their children here. My husband and I took a tour on a Friday afternoon with Sarah. Following the tour, we met with Marcie to discuss questions and pricing. We were doing a custom package (two half days) to get our daughter adjusted. I asked for a quote, so Marcie pulled her calculator on her desk and calculated the cost of both two half days and three half days by dividing the annual tuition in half, and again by 12. I wrote the numbers into the tuition sheet. My husband and I were ready to enroll at that time for the rates discussed. Marcie insisted that we wait until after the weekend to think about it. We went to shake hands goodbye, and Marcie insisted that we hug because, "We're a family here!" We felt good. A week passed. On Monday 8/1, I called to make sure there was still availability and heard back several days later. I said I could come in on Friday 8/5 to submit or application for enrollment. I came in, submitted my app, deposited our check and left. Saturday, 8/6, I receive an email that the tuition is $100/more per month. Over the next 2 days, I exchanged several emails with Marcie who would not tell me how she arrived at this price and that she doesn't even remember discussing financials with us, and if she had given us quote that she would have signed it - not at all what happened, even though I asked for an official quote. Then Marcie said she was very sick that weekend... Implying she would have provided false information because she was unwell? Needless to say, we had to ask for our contract to be terminated because we felt that Marcie and the facility is dishonest, sneaky, and could not be trusted with our daughters safety and education. Also, when we were on our tour, one of the toddler teachers had the door propped open while she took another student to the bathroom -- completely unsafe considering the church is public and anyone could have walked in! Good riddance.
