The downside to this place is that, despite the parking lot right out front, the parking comes with a fee and the spaces fill up quickly. The streetcar stops right in front, but as a former volunteer it's inconvenient for me due to the time and amount of transfers it takes to get here using public transportation. But it's a fun place so if you don't mind the lack of free (and sometimes even paid parking is non existent) parking, this place is worth a visit

There is no better view of South Lake Union than the CWB piers and it is fun to take the kids for the boats as well as to watch the sea planes from Kingfisher Air take off. Kids LOVE sea planes. The have free weekend sails and the summer festival is a great way to spend a warm sunny day in the city. This is SUCH a gem in the middle of the city. Walking the piers is fantastic, the boats and the boat shop will make you want to pick up a mallet and chisel. The park that sits between the CWB and MoHAI is great in the summer. Parking can be sketchy right in front, but it is serviced by tram.

Since I bought the boat a variety of issues have come up and some required replacement parts others just maintenance work. It has been my experience that Flower's does good work at a very fair price. Joe, the owner, is one of the more enjoyable people to deal with. He is patient and will explain what they are doing in a manner that is easy to understand. He and his mechanic are also VERY willing to give advice on work that you might undertake yourself and avoid a trip to the shop. All in all, a great business to do work with.

It's a level, rocky beach, with some driftwood - perfect for exploring, beach walking, or just sitting on a log and taking it all in. There's a bit of a rough parking area (watch out for potholes) and zero facilities, so keep that in mind as it's a bit of a drive to the nearest restroom. This would make a great beach for kayaking or canoeing, as the bay it sits on is semi-protected and seemed insulated from the wind. Note: the map indicates there's a boat launch here, but there is not. There appears to have been one at some point, but it's been mostly washed away and covered with rocks and driftwood - definitely no way to actually use it to launch anything but a portable watercraft.

Very nice ambiance. I also saw that you can rent a kayak but I didn't get a chance to check out the prices. All the kayaks looked to be in good shape and properly stowed in another part of the pier. Check this place out if you're in Coupeville. If you go down the the history museum and turn right onto the pier you'll see what I'm talking about.
