Oak Hills exceeded our expectations for Rachel and Josh's wedding reception. They were so wonderful to work with. They heard all my daughter's wishes and made her wedding reception AMAZING! We walked into the venue and the decor and attention to detail took our breath away! The taco bar, pizza, soda bar and popcorn station were delicious! Beautiful venue, helpful & very friendly staff the only complaint is the food. It's pretty bad, my son asked me if his Elementry school made the lunch. It tasted like they heated up a frozen breaded chicken patty. read more

Oak Hills was so great to work with. They made planning a wedding so much less stressful with venue, decor, food, decorations, flowers and cake all in one stop. They have an amazingly talented staff in every department and are so great to customize everything possible so that it felt even better than we had hoped on our wedding day. Shaury did amazing with both bouquets I ordered (one for first look photos and one for wedding day). The food was so yummy and they made sure to have a box packed of food and cake for my husband and I to take with us noticing we didn't have a ton of time to eat at the reception. What a lackluster appointment we just had at oak hills reception center. I've had more exciting experiences at the Layton Walmart. Main building needs serious work, walls are scratched, couches are ripped, junk stuffed under the outside balcony. The barn is nice but that's about it. Also the gal that we met for the appointment acted like it was an inconvenience for her to be showing us the place. Highly disappointed in this encounter and would not recommend viewing this place. read more

An iconic landmark in layton! Beautiful newly remodeled with great customer service! The owners are a joy to work with and are very VERY organized. For a wedding day that's supposed to be special, this place provided the LEAST amount of special, day-dreamy feeling to our potential wedding. We booked our wedding for the summer of last year (2020), right as the Coflu was on the rise, and this venue had 0 ounces of compassion in regards to us and our wedding. We have a large portion of our friends/family throughout the U.S and some family abroad so we wanted to make sure that our wedding (which we were paying a good portion of money for) would be able to include the majority of our friends and family. We were hoping to postpone the date -- we were definitely still committed to having our wedding at the venue, just at a later time when our family & friends would be able to join us (including the groom's mother, father, grandparents, and siblings), but the venue would not allow us to change our date without charging us bunch of extra fees on top of the thousands that we were already committed to paying. This was very upsetting. On top of that, the "decor" that the venue was providing was cheap, out-dated and did not have any special feeling what-so-ever to the personality of me and my fiancé. We were told we would be charged extra for bringing our own decorations. We also were interested in doing food for our wedding, they planned to charge us thousands of dollars for street tacos that you can literally get for $1-2 per taco that are probably FAR BETTER than the ones that their "kitchen crew" would make. We also wanted to have an open bar. The venue charges you for its own bartending services. They have strict outlooks on drinking. And you are required to supply your own booze. The lack of hospitality, customer service, and overall quality of this venue is few and far between. I would 100% not recommend The Oaks if you want to feel like your venue actually cares about you and your special day. Although we have already committed a couple thousand dollars to this venue (which are non-refundable), we will be discontinuing any other payments and will definitely not be giving this venue a good word of mouth. read more
