The entire place is just old, it needs a facelift, enlarge the gym! Clean it all up! Inside it looks like an old school building.

I joined so I could use the gym. Several of the machines seemed permanently broken. They have a ping pong table in there and when people play the balls that get loose get stuck under the gym equipment and you have to stop a work out so they can get them. The men at the gym hoard the remote control so no one else can change the TV channel. it is a very unfriendly environment. Pretty sure I will not be back. read more

Oak Park Senior Center on E Fulton st in Stockton, California. Yelp Challenge 27/100 The center is located in the back of Oak Park behind the swimming pool and in the middle of the baseball diamonds and Ice Arena. I stated coming here with my Grandpa about a month or so ago. My Grandparents would both come here, but my grandma hasn't had the time to make it that much anymore. So now my Grandpa and I come here for thier monthly luncheon they have. The price ranges from $6 to $8 per person. The luncheon, is pretty cool, you can sit anywhere you like and mingle with people. That's the part I love, socializing with everyone. Each visit, I met very nice people telling me thier life's story. That's probably my favorite part is interacting with the people here. The luncheon's they have here are like a buffet style. They do serve you water, hot tea and hot coco. There's also a dessert of cookies pieces of pie cake or any other sweets. After everybody eats, they save the best for last. Bingo, I won't lie, I never played bingo before until I came here. It's cool because there's prizes to be won. Bingo is most definitely the favorite activity to do here. I notice everyone getting really excited and full of joy. At first my Grandpa didn't want to play but I won him over. So we play, even though we never won yet. But I know we'll win a game one day. I took a bunch of pictures of activities they offer here. They offer haircuts, dances, movie night things of that sort. They do have a membership and it's about $20 to $22 a year per person. They offer a cosy little gym and a pool hall for our seniors. I'm very grateful to have my Grandpa, I love him so much. This is where you'll find me in my golden years....are they really golden? I say yes; emphatically! I called the center to see if they could send a speaker out to one of my school sites and low and behold; they were having an event that day and I could only find one senior that could help out. These seniors know how to have a great time...I don't intend to sit in a rocking chair watching life pass me by; I'll be the first in line at the senior dances, I'll be the one leading the senior chior, and asking them to teach kids the cool domestic diva and divo skills they have honed all their life....again, the city is doing their part in giving back to our community! Volunteered here for an event. Nice facility and great staff who cares about the people at the event. Very nice overall although the park can attract more than its fair share of riff raff and odd people from the park. read more
