It's a beautiful treed portion of the street befitting of this multi-use office building. There's a courtyard on the west side of the building between this and another building. Circle the building and you'll reach a number of handicapped spaces where one can walk into the courtyard and then the building entrance. Parking is clean and plentiful. The building houses several law offices, a palliative care & home health office, a hospice office, a medical billing office and a physical therapy practice. The two story building has a conventional elevator for those who don't wish to take the stairs. That would be me. It was my first time in the building. I was impressed with its decor and mix of offices.

It also holds other large medical practices, such as Atlantic Orthopedics, because of size and close proximity to Sentara Leigh Hospital. Hallways from the East & West entrances hold smaller medical practices & offices. The building sits in a beautiful tree covered location on the west side of Kempsville Road south of Virginia Beach Boulevard. An identical building sits next to it, providing more spaces for medical practices and offices. The unique design makes it easier for one to find parking to the entrances on all four sides of the building. The North & South entrances both lead directly into the large marble floored atrium. A glass walled elevator sits in the middle of the atrium providing a picturesque view of the area below. Entering from the East or West entrances one walks through a hallway of offices before reaching the atrium. There are handicapped parking spaces at all four entrances. A plethora of parking is available at most of the entrances. I prefer the East because it only has a row of spaces facing the building & an additional row just behind them facing the road, Therefore all the parking on the east requires a short amount of walking. Since many people stop and park on the North, the first entrance you reach, I almost always get a close spot on the East. The building is opposite the campus of Sentara Leigh & is easily accessed the from not just I-64 & I-264 but also the surface streets. It's very convenient for those of us who live in a Shore Drive area. Should you have a medical practice that has a location in either the Smithfield Building or its identical sister I would highly recommend choosing this location.

I go in there with my puppy and talk with them when they have nothing going on and I happen to be going for a walk. I've only had 2 small issues when I first moved in, and they had the maintenance man there that day and fixed both items. There's a pool for all guests, though I haven't tried it yet. It's a stone's throw away from the Towne Center, where there's all kinds of restaurants and shopping to do. It's about equal distance between all the surrounding citied as well. It's only a half hour drive to the oceanfront, Norfolk, and Portsmouth, all of which I go to weekly. They allow the first pet for a $300 deposit and $20 extra for rent. I believe it's $100 deposit and $10 extra rent for the second. Plenty of parking for everyone who lives here, and the area is kept clean frequently by hired workers.

Rats, roaches, and mold are just the start of your problems with this apartment complex. Rude, incompetent staff. Perpetually burned out lights in the parking lot and hallways. Multiple break-ins to vehicles in less than six months. Not to mention overcharging for water, trash, and utilities and no visitor parking. Slum lords could get some tips from this management company. RUN in the other direction. Update: More than a year after I moved out of this awful apartment complex - I just received a call from them trying to collect imagined funds. Seriously - RUNNN from this company!

They charge 70 a month for 125mbps which is high but would be ok if it didn't go down at least 3 times a month and they won't give you any kinda eta they always just say a tech is on the way. Within my first week here the apartment above mines AC leaked into the walls and shorted out my AC which it took them over 3 weeks to fix the hole in the wall despite telling me daily they would be there first thing at 9am the next day. And when they finally did the drywall they don't put up any kind of protection so the whole apartment was covered in dust from them sanding down the drywall.. the walls really are paper thin... and cars get broken into and stolen from here really regularly. The office staff is good but to me that's just to get you to lower your guard so beware of that. I'm going to be breaking my lease to get out of here so save yourself stress and just find another place.
