I spoke with the owner Sandra over a period of a few months anticipating an upcoming move and knowing I'd need storage. I am physically handicapped and cannot drive so I had to wait for a family friend to take me to register for and pay for my unit. I had asked her if they had any specials for the 10x10 unit and was told she would waive the $35 administrative processing fee (never heard of such a thing when I've had storage in the past) and said the unit was $95 dollars, to which i replied your website says it's $85 but I'll still take it! Showed up to get the unit and everything was closed down and had to call Sandra on my phone. First I said I had cash on hand for my unit and she says she doesn't take cash payments, to which I said okay I have my card as well and she said I don't think this is going to work out and I asked what? And she asked what my address was going to be once I moved and put all of my things in storage to which I replied I don't know yet (because we are waiting for our housing application to be approved) and she said this isn't going to work out abruptly again. I said but I have no problem providing an address of my family friend and any other information she may need. Due to my disabilities I became flustered so I handed the phone to my friend who proceeded to also tell her yes I can use her address and that we didn't understand what the issue was. People who move generally need to put their things in storage Sandra abruptly hung up. It was clear discrimination and very bizarre behavior. I will be filing a complaint with the state for the blatant discrimination against a disabled person. After reading other reviews it appears we dodged a bullet by not getting a unit here. read more

For Oakdale Mini Storage unfortunately I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this place. The only reason I say unfortunately is because I've had a storage unit there since 2019 and everything was great but in February of this year I hit a rough patch with my finances and I thought I had gotten everything under control by March at that point my February payment still hadn't cleared. Finally I authorized the owner to take February and March rent from my emergency credit card. Then unbeknownst to me my March payment had already cleared my bank the day after I posted the payment, so on March 6th I had got February's rent paid along with all penalties, and I had paid March's rent twice, so in fact on March 6th I was paid thru the end of April. I had advised the owner that I was going to move my stuff out in March but couldn't, I finally got a box-truck and 3 movers to pick my stuff up on the 3rd of April which never happened because the owner had put a lock over my lock on my unit. After that I mostly texted the owner everyday and never got a response I also left a few voicemails I was never disrespectful to her when she finally responded it was the last week in April I couldn't afford to get a truck and crew again then on May 1st she texted me saying I owed for May I asked her to please wave May's rent since I was locked out of my unit for all of April and her response was to bad so sad, you owe for May now. Don't make the mistake I did and assume that you will be treated with respect and in a professional and business like manner just because you have paid a fee and signed a contract. Raised my rent from $85 to $100 after the first month without notice and not honoring the contract

Everything has been fine until I want to leave. I informed them I was cleared out and the lady told me that I need to give two weeks notice. I said ok here's notice I want to be prorated and she says no. She keeps on I don't do refunds or prorating with hells attitude. Really just frustrated me bc I was out on the third and you basically took my money for the whole month for three days. And on top of that very hard to get ahold of the person running it she is out of reception area or something! Very disappointed. read more

I have been with this storage company for a few years, they're very helpful, kind, and cooperative. They have the best price all around! Great place if you're looking for a storage unit. Seriously, the parking lot is not truck friendly. I came in to see what was available and even though the sign said open no one was here. I called the number and the lady that answered was terribly unprofessional. She sighed into the phone when I asked if they were open. I've never had to rent a storage unit so I wasn't sure what size I needed, which seemed to inconvenience her even more. She finally said there was nothing available. Have had nothing but issues with Sandra. You call her at 2 in the afternoon, she'll call you back at midnight the next day. She's been extremely rude and has even told us that she's going to put our storage up for auction because we were a week behind on payment, without trying to get a hold of us first. We try calling her so we can pay and she answers then hangs up and forwards our calls. Very, very unprofessional and rude. I called the number provided online for Oakdale Mini Storage and a lady answered the phone with an "uh hello". I thought I had reached a personal phone for someone and dialed the wrong number as she did not answer by acknowledging the business. I said "Is this Oakdale Mini Storage?" and she answered "ah, yeah". I said "Ok, because you didn't answer...." I was going to finish my sentence with "you didn't answer by stating the business name so I thought I had the wrong number" but the lady cut me off and said very very rudely "I did answer the phone". I was not interested in dealing with this person or business at this point as they are obviously completely unprofessional. I told her that I was not interested in using their facility and hung up. A few hours later, the lady calls me and proceeds to question me as to what the problem was. I began explaining to her why, thinking she could take the feedback and maybe this can help her when dealing with potential future customers. She told me that I was rude and yelled at me. DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY. VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I WOULD NOT TRUST MY BELONGINGS THERE. read more
