We had our annual camping trip at one of the local campsites near Miller's Landing resort. One of our days we decided to use our 15% off coupon from our campsite to Rent a 9 persons pontoon boat. The folks working at the counter for the boat rental were friendly and helpful. I wish I could say the same thing for the dude's working at the actual boat dock. They gave us weird vibes. Like, have y'all never seen Asians renting a boat? WTF are you guys glaring at? WTF is so funny? It was irritating AF! Thankfully, the time on the water was really fun! The kids had such a good time zipping around on the water and we also rented a tube that we towed off the back of the pontoon boat. Yes, it's not a speed boat, but it was fast enough for the kids to enjoy being towed around. The next day we went back to Miller's Landing to use their public showers. Five dollars for five minutes. Make it quick! The shower's were clean, water was warm, or cold if you prefer, but the line can get long. There is no complimentary shampoo, soap, or conditioner, so be sure to BYO. It was a good option for those of us who were tent camping that NEEDED a shower. Although we didn't dine in the restaurant, we did get drinks, ice cream, and milkshake's from the café, all of which were really tasty. We will definitely plan to incorporate a boat rental, showers, and meals at Miller's Landing when we plan our annual camping trip for next year!

Of course we got there way early because the instructions said arrive an hour before your appointment time. Good little soldiers we, arrived at 8:02 for our 9am paddle. By 8;10 they wanted to know if we wanted to get breakfast first or just go. Pffft! Lemme at it. The other good: okay, it's the Sierra Nevada. How can it not be glorious on a lake? Buuuuuut... here comes the bad: waiting, waiting, waiting at the end for someone to notice we came back. I blew my requisite emergency whistle twice in frustration and still nothing. Probably ten minutes of employees not seeing us, or maybe preoccupied with the gasoline powered craft. Which brings me to the next maybe not bad but not great... we were the only people who didn't need to sign the disclosure that we had to pay for our fuel separately. That, in and of itself isn't so bad... but it meant this 3.5 mile lake was choppier than some oceans on which we've kayaked. Constant wake. We had to stay on the shore side of the large orange buoys, and the motorized pontoon boats, sea-doos, jet boats with water skis... they were on the other side. It's like when I was a kid flying 11 hours LAX - LHR in the 1970s and the smoking section's boundary changed based on the ratio of smokers. Yeah, there was segregation but hoo, didn't make a lotta difference. Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy. Still, we're on the lake, it's a beautiful day, what's not to love? The ugly wasn't appalling by any stretch but it wasn't great either, and it's the reason I'd rate this place 3 of 5 stars. It got the job done but I didn't see any evidence that people cared. The kayak was dirty and had trash in/on it - half a paddle padding torn off and river weeds. The paddle was held together with peeling electrical tape, had only one drip ring with no padding (maybe sitting on the prow?) and the paint was chipping off. And the drink holder was half full of slimy river water. Blech. Who wants to risk drinking nasty water running down your bottle? For $250 for two hours, I would expect better.

First, Boulder Boats typically has a great selection of new and used boats. I had been watching…read moretheir site for about a year and had a good feeling this was a high-probability buy site! In summary, the whole buying experience was truly great in every way. Jake, did his part to understand what I was after and intuitively took me a bit further down a less-expensive road, whatttt?! And, he made the right call. Also, he worked with me as I worked him on the price. We did not frustrate, but methodically worked out a fair price, and he certainly held up his end of the bargain. For that alone, he gets 5 stars! Next, the boat checkout. I was probably an easy customer having been around boats all my life. Nonetheless, Dillon (sorry Dylan, if I butchered your name!) was timely, efficient, patient, and willing to help and answer any and all questions in the parking lot, on the lake, and on the ramp. 5 stars. Matt, the main service guy. This is a tough one because I know boats and love to work on them, buuuuutttt I had to let go and have Matt "geeter dun" as I had little time. We had to come to terms on several technical issues and haggle a bit on the cost, but his patience, experience, and knowledge resulted in a very sano install for a reasonable price. In the end, he and his crew did an excellent job installing ballast, batteries, prop, full engine service, trailer service, and he got us on the road promptly and confidently on a Saturday morning before a 400-mile tow. The tow went without incident, and the boat ran great. Thanks Matt! 5 stars. Cameron. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. Hung with us through a 2-hour shopping spree including boat stuff, life jackets, wake surfers, and wake surf gear. Gear selection was good, but not quite Overton's or iBoat (duh!). Regardless, Cameron was extremely helpful and earned his 5 stars too! Dusty. Came and went, but checked on us often to ensure that all was good. He exuded customer care. 5 stars. Last but not least, Ann. She was obviously efficient at what she does and provided concise and friendly closure to our experience at Boulder Boats. Pretty sure she went an extra yard or two with the DMV while procuring our plates and registration. Big thanks Ann, 5 stars! All in all, a pleasurable and awesome experience with a really great team of individuals. Pretty sure this is not the norm when it comes to buying a boat. We would gladly do it again!

We told him that we were interested in looking at a Yamaha Boat. He said it was in the other showroom and we took the club car down the street to their extended property. Didn't realize how many boats they had in stock. When it came to making the deal he was not pushy, got us extra discounts within reason and spoke to Jack (the owner) to see what else they can do to sweeten the deal. Jack was pleasant, probably stressed with how busy they were that day, but still took the time to work with us to get the price right for our purchase. When we came back the next week to pick up the boat they were very good in going over the entire boat and features as well as inspecting every angle. They include basic safety gear 4 life jackets and a throwable that you can exchange for credit if you already have gear. The workers hooked up the boat and trailer to our hitch and we were on our way. It gets busy here especially around 10-11am with people getting service for their boats. A lot of drop offs and pick ups. Definitely plan on coming early when they open. Customers come in stressed but Jason, Jack and staff stay cool and calm to help everyone with their needs. Thanks Pacific Marine Center for the great experience!

We put a $1,000 deposit on a boat while we went through the financing process and having a hard hit on our credit. We were in contact with them DAILY. We bought a year of insurance as the last act before giving the down payment and signing documents. We got a call that night stating they sold the boat from under us without even a phone call. They then told us the $1,000 was only good for 5 days (first time hearing that!) It was actually the 3rd business day as we had a holiday weekend. If this is how dishonest they are selling it, imagine what else they may be dishonest about behind the scenes! Jack's way to make things right was to offer more expensive boats.. The only boats the owner, Jack offered added more than $10k to the original price. Jack knew we were approved, They could care less we dinged our credit and most likely figured since we were approved; we could be easily forced into a more expensive boat! Jack "offered" two other boats that were way more money! ((Their only goal)) You've been warned.
