We had our annual camping trip at one of the local campsites near Miller's Landing resort. One of our days we decided to use our 15% off coupon from our campsite to Rent a 9 persons pontoon boat. The folks working at the counter for the boat rental were friendly and helpful. I wish I could say the same thing for the dude's working at the actual boat dock. They gave us weird vibes. Like, have y'all never seen Asians renting a boat? WTF are you guys glaring at? WTF is so funny? It was irritating AF! Thankfully, the time on the water was really fun! The kids had such a good time zipping around on the water and we also rented a tube that we towed off the back of the pontoon boat. Yes, it's not a speed boat, but it was fast enough for the kids to enjoy being towed around. The next day we went back to Miller's Landing to use their public showers. Five dollars for five minutes. Make it quick! The shower's were clean, water was warm, or cold if you prefer, but the line can get long. There is no complimentary shampoo, soap, or conditioner, so be sure to BYO. It was a good option for those of us who were tent camping that NEEDED a shower. Although we didn't dine in the restaurant, we did get drinks, ice cream, and milkshake's from the café, all of which were really tasty. We will definitely plan to incorporate a boat rental, showers, and meals at Miller's Landing when we plan our annual camping trip for next year!

Bass Lake Water Sports & Boat Rentals - Our son and daughter absolutely crushing the inner tube--and my bank account.

So we rented a boat on Bass Lake, and man, it was awesome. The crew was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the boat itself--a medium pontoon with an inner tube--was great. The shop didn't offer much in the way of actual provisions for the boat ride, unless your idea of lunch is chips, Doritos, donuts, and 75 varieties of soda. Basically, everything you need to give three children a four-hour sugar high in the middle of a lake. I would have loved some sandwiches, fruit, or anything that didn't have a cartoon mascot on the package. The price is where the missing star went. You're looking at around $500 for the boat and inner tube for four hours, and then you have to pay for the gas on top of that. Maybe that's standard practice, but it felt like a lot for four hours. For the whole day? Sure. But four hours? My bank account is still kicking me in the balls. That said, Bass Lake was unbelievably nice to swim in, and diving off the boat in the middle of that gorgeous lake was incredible for the kids. The inner tube was the undisputed highlight. We went zipping around the lake like a bunch of deranged dragonflies, and the kids absolutely crushed it. They never wanted to get off. The smiles on their faces ultimately made the price worth it, and we all wished we could have stayed out there the entire day. Four stars and highly recommended--especially if budget isn't a concern.

We were told they were not renting jet skis that day. That immediately didn't make sense. Before arriving, I had checked the website, which showed availability. We didn't argue or make a scene we simply accepted what we were told and booked for the following day. The interaction continued to bother me, so later that evening I called anonymously and asked whether they were renting jet skis that day. This time, I was told yes. So why were we told, face-to-face, that they weren't renting jet skis that day? As a Black customer, it's difficult not to question whether race played a role. I can't know what motivated the employee, but being told "no" in person, then receiving the opposite answer over the phone later that same day, while also seeing non-Black customers renting jet skis, left me feeling singled out. Whether this was poor customer service, dishonesty, or something more, it left a lasting impression. I hope no one else has the same experience.

In summary, the whole buying experience was truly great in every way. Jake, did his part to understand what I was after and intuitively took me a bit further down a less-expensive road, whatttt?! And, he made the right call. Also, he worked with me as I worked him on the price. We did not frustrate, but methodically worked out a fair price, and he certainly held up his end of the bargain. For that alone, he gets 5 stars! Next, the boat checkout. I was probably an easy customer having been around boats all my life. Nonetheless, Dillon (sorry Dylan, if I butchered your name!) was timely, efficient, patient, and willing to help and answer any and all questions in the parking lot, on the lake, and on the ramp. 5 stars. Matt, the main service guy. This is a tough one because I know boats and love to work on them, buuuuutttt I had to let go and have Matt "geeter dun" as I had little time. We had to come to terms on several technical issues and haggle a bit on the cost, but his patience, experience, and knowledge resulted in a very sano install for a reasonable price. In the end, he and his crew did an excellent job installing ballast, batteries, prop, full engine service, trailer service, and he got us on the road promptly and confidently on a Saturday morning before a 400-mile tow. The tow went without incident, and the boat ran great. Thanks Matt! 5 stars. Cameron. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. Hung with us through a 2-hour shopping spree including boat stuff, life jackets, wake surfers, and wake surf gear. Gear selection was good, but not quite Overton's or iBoat (duh!). Regardless, Cameron was extremely helpful and earned his 5 stars too! Dusty. Came and went, but checked on us often to ensure that all was good. He exuded customer care. 5 stars. Last but not least, Ann. She was obviously efficient at what she does and provided concise and friendly closure to our experience at Boulder Boats. Pretty sure she went an extra yard or two with the DMV while procuring our plates and registration. Big thanks Ann, 5 stars! All in all, a pleasurable and awesome experience with a really great team of individuals. Pretty sure this is not the norm when it comes to buying a boat. We would gladly do it again!

We told him that we were interested in looking at a Yamaha Boat. He said it was in the other showroom and we took the club car down the street to their extended property. Didn't realize how many boats they had in stock. When it came to making the deal he was not pushy, got us extra discounts within reason and spoke to Jack (the owner) to see what else they can do to sweeten the deal. Jack was pleasant, probably stressed with how busy they were that day, but still took the time to work with us to get the price right for our purchase. When we came back the next week to pick up the boat they were very good in going over the entire boat and features as well as inspecting every angle. They include basic safety gear 4 life jackets and a throwable that you can exchange for credit if you already have gear. The workers hooked up the boat and trailer to our hitch and we were on our way. It gets busy here especially around 10-11am with people getting service for their boats. A lot of drop offs and pick ups. Definitely plan on coming early when they open. Customers come in stressed but Jason, Jack and staff stay cool and calm to help everyone with their needs. We put a $1,000 deposit on a boat while we went through the financing process and having a hard hit on our credit. We were in contact with them DAILY. We bought a year of insurance as the last act before giving the down payment and signing documents. We got a call that night stating they sold the boat from under us without even a phone call. They then told us the $1,000 was only good for 5 days (first time hearing that!) It was actually the 3rd business day as we had a holiday weekend. If this is how dishonest they are selling it, imagine what else they may be dishonest about behind the scenes! Jack's way to make things right was to offer more expensive boats.. The only boats the owner, Jack offered added more than $10k to the original price. Jack knew we were approved, They could care less we dinged our credit and most likely figured since we were approved; we could be easily forced into a more expensive boat! Jack "offered" two other boats that were way more money! ((Their only goal)) You've been warned.
