Sometimes if you were really blessed the appointment after you would cancel and you could get massages back to back. It was truly amazing and it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it!!!!!!!!! However, about a year ago, they discontinued this service. I was not even a student, just a random Joe schmo....an eternally grateful one that is. I'm just sayin' you might want to call the clinic and inquire. It's better than good....I would seriously drive from Milford, in a Blizzard to get there, that's how good! 20 stars, if that were possible. I rate the massage program a freaking Hailey's comet! They also were offering free yoga, but often times the instructor failed to show. This was not affiliated with the massage program. Also, people with no health insurance. PLEASE visit their dental program for teeth cleaning as low as 10 bucks. They also offer other services such as xrays and repairs. Just beware it takes forever...but for that price. As a social worker, I have referred hundreds! 5 star for the in need population. My opinion on the education is 1 star. Students teaching students, and not graduate students? Open book exams? Teacher gives you the questions/answers prior to tests? I guess it's like pay for your diploma just go through minimal actions. AND it is expensive. AND many of their credits do not transfer.

So after a discussion with the principal, I was able to get into the school the next day. This is one of a few schools in Detroit that you have to take a test to get into, and focuses only on supporting those children who WANT to get an education and learn. I had a great time here, although I only spent two years here instead of three (as most kids did). The teachers were tough and demanding, and it showed in the test scores and exemplary work the students did. Class sizes were small and accommodating, and I left here with a lot of close friends that also went to Renaissance High School and University of Michigan.

I came here at 4th grade, but I easily performed well and fit in. It's crazy because many of the people I was friends with then, I am friends with now. Cornerstone is a private Christian school (actually they have multiple locations, so maybe a better…read moreway to put it would be a "chain" school) that costs about 5K a year for K-12 grade. I've had two clients attend their schools and both have had fairly good experiences. They don't have a lot of resources to address students with disabilities, but they do have a good language program (Spanish and Mandarin Chinese) as well as after school programs and a very involved parent group.

The current culture of the school favors students who are either really great athletes and therefore the school can publicize on their success, or the school prefers parents who can donate large sums of money to the school.
