The person…read moremanaging the till at the post office was unable to send my parcel but could give no reason why and could offer no advice what to do next. I took it to another post office and posted it without problems. Since losing the original post office , the services provided at the COOP are not efficient. Largely due to ill trained staff I suspect. Not the fault of the staff as they have to multi task and do their best. I will avoid this for a post office in future and go to Bishops Cleeve where the staff are professional and very helpful.
We used to have a good professionally run sub post office in Winchcombe, but then it was moved into…read morethe Co-op where, although the staff do their best, they are obviously under- trained, have little space to work and have to serve both shop and post office customers with the inevitable confusion. The whole place needs a proper refit. When I worked for the Post Office in the 1970s both the management (which was usually time served) and the government still had a sense of civic pride largely absent today. (For a post office which is well run under similar circumstances see my review for Bishop's Cleeve Sub Post Office) I shall update this review if and when things improve.

Access to the post office isn't that easy - the way into the car park is only big enough for one car and it's not easy to reverse back out onto the main road. They are really helpful though and tell you what postal insurance you need, and despite the fact that it is only a tiny post office, they are always happy to accept huge parcels! Very friendly staff - top marks to them!
This post office is located in the shaw village center within tesco supermarket . Close to shaw's…read morelocal pub ( the village inn pub), llyolds chemist and a kebab place. so convenient especially when items that are to be delivered like parcels, goods etc cannot be delivered to a local resident, most of the items instead of being returned to parcel force HQ or the main post office (which is quite a trek away for most shaw residents )are returned to this post office for the resident to make suitable arrangement for redelivery or pick up. Because this post office is quite small, it is limited to certain but not all postal services. Staff are very friendly and quite helpful. The post office normally closes at 5pm monday to friday and at 12 noon on saturday.

The venue itself is imposing and spacious, though very crowded for big events like popular LitFest talks. The acoustics in the main hall are pretty bad, but staff do their best to overcome that. Overall, if there's something you want to see, go and see it! Your experience shouldn't be either ruined or greatly enhanced by the venue.

Wear good shoes...there are a bunch of steep steps, but it's 100% worth it. One of the best castles in Wales! The castle itself is full of history. You can wander through towers, old chambers, and winding staircases, and every corner feels like stepping back in time. I had thoughts of "hmm, what happened here?" The information boards are really well done, giving just enough detail to bring the place to life without feeling overwhelming. It's a large castle, so give yourself a couple of hours to explore properly. Comfortable shoes are a must, as some areas are steep and uneven, but that's all part of the adventure. Definitely recommend
Chepstow Castle is a magnificent castle in southeast Wales perched high above the river Wye…read more Construction started almost 1,000 years ago in 1067AD and is (I believe) the oldest surviving stone castle in the UK. Yes it is largely a ruin but it is still a spectacular place to visit, incredibly photogenic and simply beautiful. It's strategic importance in British history is proven by how quickly William the Conqueror (1066 and all that!) started its construction! Two thumbs up - just visit when you can...

Examples would be regarding a pitcher/jug that is displayed in one of the glass cases. She said the pitcher "should not be here" and if she had her way "it would be returned" because it was "stolen from a masque." She also said when referring to Dr. Edward Jenner being the first to develop a successful vaccination for small pox that "it really is a question if he were the first." She said he barely beat Africa and Turkey in this world altering vaccine. To which doctors to whom was she referring to in Africa or Turkey? She made a comment of, " My grandfather always said, 'Whatever horrible acts done have been done have been done by the English first.' and I firmly believe this." She was also railing against the decisions of the monarchs before the addition of the parliament. Then she went on to say she wished she could get rid of the current government. A guide should concentrate on the facts and remove biases. It is quite distracting and unnecessary.
