I want to start this review by saying I am sorry if you are trying to find a hospice for your loved…read moreone. It is a hard task to do because all you want is your loved one to be able to have a peaceful death surrounded by the people they love. My advice is to interview different hospice options and follow your heart because you will know. I spoke with 2 different hospice companies and ended up going with a smaller company since my mom had Alzheimer's and really did not need a lot of resources a larger hospice can provide. My mom ended up getting the flu on Christmas Day which changed her condition rather quickly so she became bedridden. My mom was not getting the care she required during this time so I knew I had to make a change. I called Sheeva on New Years Day with Agape in complete distress because my mom was in pain and struggling to breathe. Sheeva was not working that day and was actually with her family at a party when I reached out. She took my call and I don't know how but was able to coordinate a change with Agape within 1 hour of my call. Christy was the nurse on call and when she walked into the door around 6:30pm she just took over and for hours helped my mom with her breathing. She truly was an Angel and the care and love she gave my mom was such a gift to me and my brother. Since was mom was transitioning so quickly Christy called in a continuous care nurse named Irene to stay with my mom and administer her medication so my brother and I could just be with our mom. I slept next to my mom and I would keep waking up just to check her. Irene was always at her side just making sure she was comfortable by keeping her mouth clean, putting chapstick on her lips and even brushing her hair. At 4am Irene gently woke my brother and I up to say it was time. We got a chance to be with our mom until she took her last breath. Agape gave our family such a gift to be able to be with our mom until the end. My biggest regret was not going with them at the beginning. The 10 hours that Agape took care of my mom is something I will always remember. Please do not experience the agony we did with Providence Care hospice whose neglect almost caused my mom a painful death. Agape hospice has the resources and the most amazing staff who will take care of your loved one so you can just be with the person you love. I hope you find peace during this time and I am just so grateful Agape was able to give my mom the care she deserved in her final hours. Anne S

It is a nice hospital but they do get a lot of taxpayer's money so it should be nice. The business office is just down right disgusting...and because of them I would have to recommend if you have insurance then go to St. Mary's.

My mother was here after a…read moresevere stroke that left her left side paralyzed and with aphasia, incontinence, and confusion. Let's start with the positives: Most of the nurses are incredible and are doing the best they can. There were a select few nurses that helped my my mother bathe and brushed her hair ad put it up in a ponytail to prevent further matting that occurred when she was in the ICU. Now for everything else. Within the first 48 hours of arriving, a nurse left a tourniquet on my mother's left arm for at least two hours. Not only could we not assess if this did any damage because her left side was already suffering from palsy due to the stroke, but it left an awful mark that I'm sure hurt. I asked them to document this incident but after looking at her medical records it looks like no one did that. Throughout her stay, I could tell when things were wrong. I would ask for a test to be run for, say, a UTI, and it took so much pushing and several days of my mother grimacing and white-knuckling the rail to get a test done at all, and then hours for antibiotics to be administered after results were back. The communication here is God awful. My mother was mostly deaf, and somehow it either wasn't in her chart or no one was reading it, because no one knew until I asked them to put a sign up in her room that said "hard of hearing." They lost her hearing aids, also, which certainly didn't help. Some nurses weren't aware of when she had infections or even that her left side was paralyzed. My mother's insurance stopped covering her stay at Landmark after about two/three weeks, and would not cover any more unless someone at Landmark said there were complications with her. No complications were reported, despite her developing MRSA pneumonia and having to be 24/7 restrained. The administration did their best to push her out of Landmark to a nursing home, and ended up not restraining her when they should have because in order for someone to be sent to a nursing home they have to have been out of restraints for at least 48 hours. My mother decannulated often due to the discomfort of the trachea and her lack of understanding as to the harm it caused. She needed 24/7 eyes on her, and they often had a nurse sitting at the door, but due to understaffing she couldn't always be there. My mother pulled out of her restraints countless times, or they weren't tight enough so she could pull herself up enough to take the cannula out. This contributed to her developing tracheal stenosis, a narrowing of her trachea, which caused her death due to acute respiratory failure the day she was transferred out of Landmark. Suffice to say, I don't recommend anyone stay at Landmark if you have serious issues. The administration simply does not care about you, and the nurses are too overwhelmed to do anything. If you have absolutely no choice in where your loved one ends up, and you HAVE to choose Landmark, I IMPLORE you to spend as much time with them as possible and to be a fierce and aggressive advocate for their health. You have to become an expert in their care whether you like it or not to make sure things are being done right.

Easy access, prompt professional service, quality care, teamwork with the providers. Only down side is that the pharmacy used to have Saturday service but now only weekdays. So one needs to either rush to get there by 5 pm to get your scripts or take time off of work.
