The food here sucks. They woke me up at 4:00 in the morning. Every morning just to change my wound dressing

It was a pretty simple process, and she was most helpful in directing you where to go. My next stop was the laboratory to have blood drawn before the procedure. After ringing the bell more than one time to gain admittance, I finally gained access after a passing employee swiped her card and let us in. The gentleman logging into a computer never acknowledged my presence much less say good morning. The person tasked with drawing blood never said hello, good morning, or anything of the sort. She looked like she didn't want to be there at all. My last stop of the morning was in the cardiac cath lab. Everyone was extremely attentive and the procedure was done without any problems. However, the care I received after the procedure (before being discharged home) was less than stellar. The nurse who handled the care was Kayleigh. At first she seemed attentive and came back every 15 minutes as was needed. However, at one point when she came back to check on me and do what was needed, she received a telephone call on her personal cell phone and without explanation she proceeded to leave to take a personal call and left without doing what was needed. When she came back several minutes later, she indicated that it was a call regarding her surgery, which was not something she needed to be telling me. She needed to just attend to me and what was needed to be done so I could be discharged home. Because of her delay in my care, it kept me there almost an hour longer. Health care workers need to realize that our lives are in their hands and their personal lives need to take a backseat to their JOBS!!!!!! This was a very stressful day for me as it was. I do realize that everyone has things they themselves are dealing with, but when you're being paid to do your JOB, you need to LEAVE IT AT THE DOOR and do your JOB!!!

She took my vitals and was so very kind. The wait wasn't long before I was off to a room and met the sweetest nurse, Brittany (RN). Although my anxiety was through the roof as I waited on my CT Scan results, she made me feel so relaxed. Brittany was kind, personable, and professional. Lastly, I met Dr. Eddie Green. He was outstanding! Best doctor I've ever encountered at any Emergency Room. All I can say is that they made my visit so comforting despite the circumstances. FIVE STARS to each of you and a BIG THANKS!

When I went to the ultrasound appointment a few hours later I found out it wasn't for my bladder but for my uterus. I got the impression from the technician that this level of bamboozle was common. The radiology group is Radiology of North Georgia (RoNG) and is in the same cluster of buildings. Trinity contacted me through my chart to pay a $230 bill for the service which I did. Then I started receiving bills from RoNG for nearly the same amount. They argued that these were totally separate bills even though the one I paid via the portal clearly was for the ultrasound. However, if you look at Google reviews of RoNG you can see that they give zero f***s and will send you to collections for $50. Avoid St. Mary's and avoid Radiology of North Georgia.

With my high-deductible insurance plan, preventive care is covered 100% and the ACA defines that as: "Initial comprehensive preventive medicine evaluation and management of an individual, including an age and gender-appropriate history, examination, counseling/anticipatory guidance/risk factor reduction interventions, and the ordering of appropriate immunization and laboratory tests." I spoke with Dr. Madala during my visit and said I would not be comfortable speaking freely about any medical issues if I were going to be billed for anything other than a routine exam and I was assured that that was not a practice that Piedmont engaged in. Before I mentioned shoulder pain, I specifically asked if I was going to be charged additional and the doctor said that I would not be. No exam was done--she just said she could get me a referral for a physical therapy. (And I ended up having to call her office 3 or 4 days later to actually get the referral sent because it wasn't done.) No new diagnoses were applied. I've been on my medication for many years and no discussion was needed because the dosage is fine and I simply needed authorization for a refill. I even provided my own bloodwork from a few months before. No additional tests or exams were done. My appointment was at 2pm and didn't start immediately on time. I was leaving the building at 2:26pm according to my phone data so the actual appointment did not even last 20 minutes. If this was a full evaluative appointment it would have lasted much longer than that. A month later I received a $350 bill (even higher than the double bill at NEG). I submitted an appeal to customer service pointing out that this should be preventive care and was told to talk to my insurance company about my deductible. Completely useless. I reiterated everything stated above and have received no response in eight days. When I sent Dr. Madala a message asking why she told me wrong information, she was very rude and said that she wouldn't be changing anything in the notes so that my appointment could be re-billed as preventive care. In no world should a 20-minute appointment cost $350. You aren't that great Piedmont. Even if your offices look nice and bougie, you're still in semi-rural Georgia. And if you employ rude, lying doctors and useless customer service associates, you should spend more money on training your employees and less on your fancy office decorations.
