This tree is over 100 years old. I am so happy that the local area has kept this tree and that is has made it through the hurricanes.

What a gem tucked away. This little park is really close to Saint Andrews Marina. The are some shops and restaurants close. Even a cute little bar that was playing live music. It was nice to be able to enjoy the water and park without the wildness on the beach.

This is a nice little park. They have a short boardwalk to the small beach area. There's a cool old (over 250 years) Oak tree with information plaque. Unfortunately, the unique 4-headed palm tree was cut down in July of 2018 because of disease. We were pretty disappointed it wasn't at the park anymore, as it was the reason for our visit.

This park is home of the rare four-headed palm tree; apparently it's the only one in the world. How cool is that?! I pretty much stopped by just to look at the unique palm tree. While I was there, I noticed how much shade the park has from the oak trees. One is supposed to be 250 years old. Seems like a nice place to relax and have a picnic. They were setting up for a jazz festival that evening but we did not stay for it. I was told there is a boardwalk that overlooks the St. Andrews Bay and is a great spot to watch the sunset. Parking seems to bit limited but worth a stop if you're in the area.

My favorite picnic spot! Beautiful oak trees and a short, lovely boardwalk to the bay. Wonderful Christmas decorations in December.

Even better if entrance and parking (2 hours) are free. Fort Walton Landing Park in the "FWB Downtown Marketplace" zone (aka "East Miracle Strip") fits all of those checkboxes. There are grassy knolls, tall trees, cheeky squirrels, many shaded seating areas, and a large playscape structure, plus bay views and a peek of homes and hotels on Okaloosa Island across the water. There is NOT a beach here (the white sandy beaches are on the island; this is the bay/channel side - other reviewers posting gulf beach pics are confused). The two piers / docks and associated boardwalk are unfortunately still out of commission after storms in 2020, but will hopefully be rebuilt soon. Note that dogs must be on leash at all times. The shops across the street include a mixture of apparel, gifts, art, and sports, so you're sure to find a souvenir or three to take home while you explore the area on foot. We especially liked Buccaneer Shop (local flavor), Run with It! (running and pickleball gear), and Coral Reef Shop (tacky t-shirts with Destin & FWB logos). The FWB Farmers Market is held here 8a - 1p on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, year-round. Holiday concerts and fireworks are often held here, as well. Check out social media and the individual vendor websites for current information on other park events.
