Still, I did a day hike on Gator Trail with THE Mr. Freckles McWolfington, and we had a blast. He wasn't happy about being stuck on leash, but it IS called Gator Trail for a reason. When we got back to the trailhead, we walked over to the little deck and were treated to a terrifying growl from what was either the biggest gator in Florida or a T-Rex, we weren't sure. First time hearing a gator growl - it was so freaking cool. If you get a chance, come out for a walk and some time on the beach - no dogs allowed, though (don't tell Freki I called him a dog, please).

When I asked her if we could just drive around OR walk, she refused even when I said we had driven 40 miles just for that purpose. I will have to reserve BLINDLY for next year and be content with whatever site we get shaded or not. Looks like she had a bad night and hope that Karma comes around, it wasn't like we were going to sneak in and spend the night in the car when we were staying in Topsail which I am almost sure is better than this other one. I am sure that if I was a politician she would've extended the red carpet. So this review is not about the Park itself but about the Ranger at the gate and her attitude towards potential customers

There's a grassy area right in the middle of the park where people can bring chairs and blankets and enjoy the performances. Also, right accross from stage there is an amazing playground for kids and some other equipment that older kids can use as well. The park has a walking path that you can take strollers on and walk around. During some events the concessions are open behind the playground, and the bathrooms are located on the side of the building. More and more trees are now planted after Hurricane Michael destroyed it, so it will be even better soon. Love this park!

There is a playground near a pier where people launch & moor boats. I counted five brand new picnic pavilions with new BBQ pits and new picnic tables. Even the sidewalks were brand new. Park has a bike rack and is pet friendly. This park is right on the water and there was a small white sand beach that my dog and I walked on. There was two parking lots, one near the pier & playground, one on the other side of the park. The parking lot nearest the pier looked larger, had pickup trucks with boats, so I am assuming there was a boat launch nearby that I did not see. This park is located near the freeway and directly behind Gulf State College. My dog and I also walked around Gulf State College because it was the weekend and no classes in section. Sorry I did not take pics of the playground, pier, or boat launch to include, people were using those areas & I don't like to take photos of people without their consent.
