He makes you feel as if you're his only patient taking whatever time is needed to answer any questions and keep you informed of the treatment plans. My husband came to the center unable to walk because of spine surgery and with a diagnosis of a blood disorder.  As a result of Dr. Thorpe's thoroughness, it turned out that there was no blood disorder.  The usual blood tests provided inaccurate results. The physical and occupational therapists were equally caring and skilled. The therapies had him walking and slowly becoming self sufficient. The nursing care cannot be praised enough.They were always responsive to his needs and often checked in just to see how he was doing. Our care navigator, Ms. Enitan Macarthy worked to maintain quality care and made the transition home seamless. We owe a debt of gratitude to the entire staff for getting my husband functioning well enough to come home.

I never thought I could get here, but here I am, and I did it with the very caring and compassionate help from the whole Kolmac team - especially two very special counselors at the Silver Spring location. Grace and Michelle were there for me every step of the way, and they continue to be to this day. I started with IOP (outpatient program), and that got me to basic sobriety, but that was just the beginning for me. I am now in CC (continuing care) which is a group therapy environment. I resisted the group environment as I was so isolated and disconnected from people, but group is exactly what I needed. My group has been so incredibly supportive and consistent - it has made all the difference in my life. It gave me an opportunity to come out of my isolation and truly connect with others who have the same problem as me - in a safe, supportive environment that focuses on learning about my disease, identifying needs and emotions, setting boundaries, and reframing negative self-image in the context of addiction. In addition to becoming sober and maintaining my sobriety, I have also experienced MAJOR breakthroughs in my understanding of self, my relationships and my family-of-origin issues. There is no way I could have done that without the supportive group environment and the consistent help and support from Michelle and Grace and the whole staff. I have been held accountable, but my personal limitations, fears and boundaries have been so respected along the way, and that has allowed me to open up and bloom as a person. I have watched many others in my group do the same. If you need help with addiction of any kind, then this is the place to go. Hands Down. There is a way out of the insanity of addiction, BUT, you must commit yourself and open yourself up to honesty, accountability, guidance and learning. They will hold you to it, and that is what I needed. I will be forever grateful to these wonderful, professional and caring women at Kolmac who have shown me unconditional support and compassion. I got a lot out IOP it helped me to realize that I didn't belong there. That the teachers that are teaching, your children and the nurses and doctors that may be taken care of you or your family are not well. More than probably 40% of my group were made up of the medical profession and teachers. I had been praying on it because I have been debating leaving and it was tonight's session that confirmed it was time for me to go. I had on a pink women for Trump hat, and shocker of all shockers an item of clothing "triggered" several members yet one of the group members saying She was glad that two of her friends or family were in urns or that she wanted to rip someone's head off, didn't bother them at all... I'm not shocked liberals are violent, hateful, intolerant people for the most part and here and again no tolerance only triggered buy a hat... pathetic! But the people who run this organization and the clinicians who lead the groups are wonderful at least mine was so I have nothing bad to say about this business Although I do have to say, I was very disappointed that I received a call asking me to remove a clothing item rather than the leader of the group saying no to the others telling them it is her right and her freedom to wear what she wants he instead chose to strip me of my rights and freedoms.

However, my issue is with the reception staff. For the last several days I have been trying to get a prescription refilled and the communication has been terrible on the end of reception. Constant misunderstandings back and forth (that I won't get into) but upon trying to get information about the status of a prescription I was only given details if I pushed the receptionist for answers. I was clear with the doctor about which pharmacy i'd like my prescription sent to and then was told the next day there was no pharmacy for me on file. Very confusing seeing as I've been a patient for over a year. I was told yesterday the prescription would be sent before 6 , I call the pharmacy today and still nothing (this is going on the FOURTH day of being told my prescription would make it to the pharmacy). Just spoke with the receptionist again who abruptly rushed me off the phone to hang up and now things are hanging in the air and i'm losing hope the pharmacy will ever get it. I understand people get busy but there's a way to go about communicating and following through with the details of things as significant as having your medication needs met. Hopefully, they figure it out. Lucky for me this is a medication I can go without taking but to think if it was more of an emergency is honestly scary. Hopefully no one else has this experience with Blue Sky as Dr. Jason is wonderful at his job.

The staff to resident ratio is alarming and something the state should look into. I was there for a couple of hours and honestly seen only one nurse(?)/attendant and one person cleaning. The wait to enter the facility is lengthy. No one answers the bell, the residents have to see you at the door and yell to someone that someone is at the door. It's a sad state of affairs the care or lack thereof rendered to our oldest and neediest population. This place is marginally better than some of the others that service this demographic but that's not saying much. This place is better than being on the street, I suppose.

The staff was very rude and even throw her hands up to indicate she couldn't help me find ice. My grandmother was here for a month and a half. She walked in happy and very independent. During her stay, she was verbally abused, neglected which caused her to fall and not checked on that lead to bed sores. We had to move her, she was in horrible pain one night. Due to her stage four cancer, she need to feel comfortable. However, she pressed the bell and the nurse came in, snatched the bell out of the wall, and told her to stop using it. When we stayed with her, they never came in. They just walked around in their face mask due to lack of cleaning of the facility. I only saw the other residents when their family were there visiting. Other than that, they stayed in bed and left alone all day. Pay attention to the signs: scheduled visits are not needed. Staff wear face mask. You don't see other residents out of their beds. They told us my grandmother was crazy and she did not fall. I wouldn't recommend this place for dog boarding!

As of…read more2am on the next morning on 4/7/2026, he still hadn't seen a doctor and many, more new patients were given rooms. The quality of customer care here is terrible and the lack of communication is worse. I don't recommend coming here due to the lack of patient care, communications and lack of quality assurance. I was told by a nurse that they were too busy to put my husband in a room while other new patients were given rooms. But the photo below says otherwise....
