I am typically late to any trendy bandwagon. I wait for crowds to dissipate and then make my move…read more I am also patient. I'm probably too patient for my own good. The first LL Bean store to open in Canada was this one in Oakville. If my memory serves me well, it was Summer 2019 when it opened its doors. I was recently in Oakville. I was at Oakville Place for the first time. I saw this store. I was happy. Over four years later, I made the pilgrimage to this store. It wasn't intentional, though. I just happened to need a Shoppers Drug Mart, which was steps away from this store. I became an LL Bean fan during my undergraduate years. For some unknown reason, I got its catalogue in the mail. I loved it so much. My first purchase was a purple pair of Mary Jane suede shoes from Rieker. I loved them so much that I grew to love LL Bean t-shirts and more. I was thrilled that my first LL Bean store that I frequented was its flagship store in Freeport, ME. I did a road trip eastbound through Canada and returned through the States. The flagship store was incredible, with its huge signature boot in front of the store. I have visited Canadian LL Bean stores in Barrie, Ottawa, and now, Oakville. I didn't feel the same excitement as I did getting products stateside. Maybe it's the price. I am a different shopper who likes deals and sales. I have rarely seen any decent discounts on products that I want at Canadian locations, including this one. I loved looking at branded tumblers, cute t-shirts, comfy hoodies, and more. Paying $75 for a t-shirt is frankly ridiculous. You want to be in the corners of this store. Clearance items are there. The back left corner had women's clothing discounted at 40% off. It's decent. Sadly, I didn't find anything in this corner that I wanted to buy. I did enjoy checking out the handbags, travel items, and luggage section. Prices weren't cheap, but I liked them. If you love YETI products, you have a fine selection here. Coolers. Tumblers. Ice chests. I saw so many accessories just for its drinkware. It was fascinating. You do pay for quality. Be prepared to shell out. Surprise! Out of all the LL Bean stores in Canada, I only bought items at the Ottawa location. I was there to partake in a Canada Day sale and there were more products on sale. I wish that there were a similar sale when I was at this store. It was nice to get my fix seeing and touching products, as opposed to leafing through a physical catalogue or browsing items online. This store was huge and spacious. I had an enjoyable time. I do hope that there are more sales in future. The outerwear and footwear looked so nice and functional. (430)

On our visit here, there was 10% off the entire store. They have a lot of camping supplies like tents, waterproof blankets and bags, and iconic games that you would play at camp (cornhole for one). Some other camp/cottage activities that they also had were kayaks and paddleboards, both the inflatable ones and the hard ones. They had a huge selection of Yeti mugs and all of these were included in the 10% discount. There were some that I haven't seen before, including one that can keep your cans insulated! This one comes with a display can that can be used for storage.

I went to the clearance outlet one in error and was redirected to the main one. The store is BUSY in the morning just 1hr into opening. In the sea of place we eventually found each other haha. Observing this place it's very organized. Unlike sportchek that are staffed with students who can share their experience when you shop, you have legit "grownups" who actually do these sports and so they can tell you how to buy, how to use and give you the confidence in your purchase. And this is what you want, I bet your a first time buyer looking for guidance. I really wish I bought my gear here because when I went to sportchek....it was an overwhelming what am supposed to do and frequent glances to google on my phone. Definitely want to properly comb through this store it's a gem. So excited for the snow to come!

I was first able to use the skis on a trip to Lake Tahoe in 2024. I found the skis very hard to ski on. They were way too long given my skill level. I used them a total of four days and ended up selling them on Face Book market place for less than half of what I paid for them. I went to Skiis and Biikes before our Whistler trip in January and they recommended Völkl Peregrine 165cm which worked out great.

The one sales associate did take a break when there was another lady at the checkout and assisted her while she was attending to her prior client (just didn't deem us worthy of her attention) We were there for 30 mins before a third sales associate (probably just starting his shift) assisted us. They barely had any sizes or styles available. I would not recommend visiting this location. We were returning customers who'd had a good experience on prior visits and recommended friends and family to this location. This visit changed that for good. One wonders in the current economy how such businesses can afford to lose customers.

It's a smaller store that is neatly laid out. Shoes on the left, clothing on the right, and in the back is a shop of sorts where I you can get your racquet re-gripped. The staff let us know that they have a shipment of new items on the way, and so that was good to know as I found there was a lack of variety in items. They didn't seem to have much variety of sizing in clothing, so that was a bummer. I was also looking for a basic bag to bring to the court that isn't so clunky as some of the professional tennis bags, but they didn't have those either. Overall if I needed tennis specific shoes or something done with my racquet, I think i'd come back here first and then expand my search to online or other sports stores if needed.

I asked Chris to put on hold as he said it's likely my size based on my height, which he said he would and would call back today or Monday. Also dealt with James (owner/at Oakville location) on chat around 11am (from a previous message I sent online) and I again showed interest/offered to put down deposit but just wanted to confirm size first. He asked for my measurements via email around 12:30pm which I sent back promptly/offered deposit again to hold it - it was still showing available online at this time. Around 1pm, I didn't hear back and noticed it was no longer in stock online so called/spoke to James. He checked inventory and said it just sold today. I was very disappointed as I've been dealing/offering deposits for hours on this bike to lock it in. He called me back a few mins later and said it sold "a short while before today" and they just updated inventory, which I totally question if this is even the truth. He then offered to build me a $7k bike in my size as an option with an apology. I feel misled and given I was dealing on this bike for literally hours/offering a deposit to avoid this from happening. Extremely disappointed and not only a waste of time but they didn't follow-through on holding the bike or facilitating deposit as I requested several times and got a runaround.

DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES! DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON!…read more I cannot even tell you the amount of issues we have experienced. Everything from not being able to confirm our appointments, to not honouring the terms of the Groupon, to charging us for equipment etc even though the Groupon said everything was included. There is an additional cost for absolutely everything. After paying extra for the textbooks, and getting their open water dive 'deal', the snorkel and fin rentals for the dive were extra (although the other equipment was included- guess they didn't think snorkel was necessary equipment) and a few people had issues with the equipment in the water. We were told that the $250 we paid for the open water dives included ALL equipment, and were hit with the extra charge when we went to get fitted. I won't even go into how many issues we had booking a dive, them losing our reservation and telling us we were SOL because there was no room left that weekend, and that they were 'not able to find our paperwork'. The guys doing the open water dives were nice- every other interaction I had with them was a customer service nightmare. Not helpful, arrogant, dismissive, disorganized- just terrible. We specifically asked during the open water dive whether or not there were any more fees in order to get our PADI card- we were told there was a $25 fee if we wanted to get it the fast way, but otherwise no. I couldn't believe that we were finally getting something from them that was actually included in the price we paid. Too good to be true- we were told to just come in when we dropped off our equipment, get the application, attach a picture and mail it in. Easy peasy. Instead we were charged $75 EACH and basically told that we had to pay it or they weren't signing off and we would have wasted hundreds of dollars. DO NOT recommend. Save yourself the trouble and get certified anywhere else.
