I was hesitant, but once me and Teddy, my dog, got inside. We came across several other pet owners. That's pretty cool! Teddy and I walked the length of the mall while my partner did her shopping. This is one of those high-end malls! But they also had some very good food vendors in the hallways where I got the majority of my snacks and I even got some snacks for Teddy. I was hoping the cute little dog park on the outside would be available to us, but it didn't open until 2:00 p.m. And we were at the mall fairly early. It was a great visit because most of the employees were dog friendly! I'll definitely have to make a trip back to this mall without a dog.

Aventura Mall will always have a special place in my heart…read more Growing up in Miami Beach we often would take the S bus down to Aventura and just hang out. Back then, the S Bus would drop you off at the entrance of the food court and the mall was just 2 floors but look at Aventura Mall now! Completely unrecognizable to the Mall I remember as a teen. Especially since it seems like the average stores I remember are gone and it's all Prada, Gucci, and luxe stores now, but I'm not gonna knock it too much as I took full advantage and stocked up on my Nespresso pods while I was here. At least they still have JC Penny's. I was able to find a Miami Hurricanes shirt to bring back to my dad as a gift. They also have a Joe and the Juice store which I always stop by when I'm here and get a green tonic from them. I have to admit; I like how they revamped the food court so that its modern and has a wide variety of options. They even have a ramen kiosk! We also stopped by the new Eataly store, how can you not right? We didn't eat anything there, but I took advantage and bought some items they had priced on sale. In all honesty, I could see myself coming to Aventura often if I still lived in South Florida. I've always it made it a point to come here when I do visit and will probably continue to do so in the future.

I stop at Grand Luxe for an energizing meal before my spending spree begins. Lots of high end stores ranging from Gucci , Versace & Balenciaga. Plus many other brands for what ever your needs are at the moment. Frank hit up Versace and purchased some leopard sweat pants and they are amazing... What a discount and even on sale for added savings.. I won't bore you with everything I bought but I filled my truck bags... SAWGRASS MILLS is the place I come to drop some coin.. Yes it's great to strolled around. I'll be back soon for more retail therapy.

One would think that with all of the added residential buildings it would allow the retail shops and eateries to thrive but what we witnessed today was anything but that. Most of the retail businesses that were here one year ago are long gone and almost all of the restaurants were completely empty. Meter parking is tight but plentiful weekdays. After long walking in the heat, we managed to find a few interesting retro shops and great pizza.

Lots of businesses were permanently closed but was told the City of Hollywood is upgrading the west side of Harrison Street and Hollywood Blvd like the modern east side. They have some name brand retailers along with some lesser-known more boutique style stores. I really enjoy coming here on a Friday or Saturday night and listening to the music at Brimstone. The area is very walkable. Most drivers are courteous when you cross in front of them and they yield to you. In an Ideal World, I think Pembroke Gardens should have an automatic covering for when it is super hot or rainy. That is the downfall of this shopping mecca, several months of the year it is just not fun to come here because of the weather. Parking is another issue. I really wish they would build a parking garage because there is usually a problem finding a parking spot on the weekend. That just puts me and then annoyed state of mind when I'm going to a fun place. Definitely come to Pembroke Gardens when you want a fun and memorable they are night out.

The mall gets a lot of pre and post cruise business. It's popular, so some times parking can be challenging. I've probably been here the most for the different restaurants -- from burgers to sushi. When I worked nearby and the weather was nice, I'd come for lunch and then stroll by the shops.

They are always doing maintenance and updating areas, but that is for the improvement of the boulevard. If you are in Fort Lauderdale, pay Las Olas a visit and you will find Mexican, Italian, South American, Asian cuisines...just to name a few....
