One of the biggest improvements was the addition of the movie theater, and the interior has been renovated to feel much more modern, bright, and clean. Many of the longtime anchor stores are still here, although some of the smaller boutique shops have come and gone over the years. I also appreciate that there are now a couple of kid-friendly attractions, including a children's museum and an indoor play center. They're great additions for families and are very reasonably priced. The parking lot is large, with multiple entrances around the property, so it's easy to access the mall from just about any direction. There is still some construction in one section of the parking lot that seems like it's been there for quite a while. I haven't seen much activity recently, so I'm not sure if the project is still ongoing. Fortunately, it's limited to one area and doesn't really affect the overall shopping experience. The mall itself is a nice size. It's not overwhelmingly large, but it's definitely not small either. Everything is indoors, making it a great place to shop, walk around, or spend a few hours, especially during Florida's hot or rainy weather. Overall, Broward Mall has done a great job modernizing while keeping many of the stores and features that have made it a local favorite for years.

During the weekdays there rarely many children playing. Weekends are obviously more crowded but fun for the kids as long as the guardians are supervising their own little ones. There is an area for parking strollers and storing shoes. The play area was clean and I didn't observe anything that looked dangerous for climbing and playing. This is a great FREE indoor space for those Plantation days when the weather is not great outside.

The mall had a huge draw then with the three big clothing and home anchor stores which are still active: JC Pennys, Macy's, and Dillards. They have the fastest merchandise and the hottest styles for a discount store. On this visit, there were many employees restocking the shelves and they already seemed to be pretty full. I love their shoe selection and prices. Their men's department is not super big but there is a good variety. Their children's clothing and toys area seems to be their largest focus and it takes up a good part of the Marshall's side. There is only one checkout area for both Marshall's and Home Goods so the line gets very long at peak times which is why I try to get in before lunchtime to look for my bargain buys.

The area is very walkable. Most drivers are courteous when you cross in front of them and they yield to you. In an Ideal World, I think Pembroke Gardens should have an automatic covering for when it is super hot or rainy. That is the downfall of this shopping mecca, several months of the year it is just not fun to come here because of the weather. Parking is another issue. I really wish they would build a parking garage because there is usually a problem finding a parking spot on the weekend. That just puts me and then annoyed state of mind when I'm going to a fun place. Definitely come to Pembroke Gardens when you want a fun and memorable they are night out.

The plaza is all outside so it is sad to see so many for lease signs. I enjoy shopping in this plaza because of the Total Wine location and the Kohls where I go to do my Amazon returns. Parking is never a problem unless you wish to park close to the doors where it is a little difficult from the employees who take many of those spaces. Getting in and out of this plaza is quite easy as there is a signal light off of University Drive and the other exits all have stop signs. There is a Tesla charging station in the furthest south part of the plaza which seems to be very popular.
