The 5-day down the Snake River was perfect as you really get into the groove of rafting that 3rd day.

If you've ever wanted to have…read morea trip through wilderness where all of your needs and wants are attended to, this is the company you seek. As an avid fly fisherman, outdoorsman and adventure guide, this company exceeded any and all expectations. My wife is a vegan and they not only accommodated her meal plan request but exceeded the plan by providing fresh cooked, gourmet vegan meals that even I enjoyed. The guides are first class, both in personality and in professionalism. The ownership is passionate about not just the river and outdoors, but in your experience as a customer. DO NOT PASS on this opportunity to experience the wilderness! Taco

Idaho's Middle Fork of the Salmon has something for all ages and experience levels: spectacular scenery in one of the deepest river gorges in North America, crystal clear water, blue ribbon trout fishing for native Westslope cutthroat trout, numerous riverside natural hot springs, abundant wildlife viewing, and both prehistoric, and recent historic sites to explore. Idaho River Adventures is the culmination of a lifetime spent in Idaho's wild places. As a fifth generation Idahoan, I come from a family with a long and rich history of farming, ranching, logging, and recreating in Idaho. Some of my earliest memories are of my family fishing, hiking, and exploring wild places on or near the very streams where the voyages of Idaho River Adventures take place. Idaho River Adventures guides are some of the most experienced in Idaho, and it is common for the guide crews on any of our trips to have collectively over one hundred years of experience guiding on Idaho's wilderness rivers. All of our guides have extensive training in Wilderness First Aid as well as Swift Water Rescue training. In addition to being very safety minded, our guides will dazzle you with their storytelling, their knowledge of canyon history and flora and fauna as well as their culinary prowess as riverside chefs.

The first thing you should think about when planning such a trip is the skill and reputation of the guiding service. ROW totally rocks! Everything is considered and planned for and if surprises come up (which they always do) ROW gets top marks for handling everything in a professional and incredibly fun manner. The guides were mega-stars; the food and drinks were superlative at every meal, and the equipment was first class. As importantly, it was a great learning experience that ranged from rafting and kayaking technique to Native American history and riverine ecology as well as environmental education about the plant and animal life. Bottom line is that I can't remember a better time on any river anywhere. They made such an impression on all of us that we've already started planning for next year's trip and we can't wait to see them all again. Below is a picture at our first night's wondrous camp showing my athletic honey (who begged them to let her carry her own equipment to our luxury campsite so she could get more exercise). There were so many stars and the Milky Way shown so bright you could almost read by starlight!

We were so well fed (and all the meals were the best), learned so much about the plants, wildlife, and history of the area, and got to camp in the most beautiful spots on the river. We'll definitely be booking with ROW again and 100% recommend the company and our guides!

Not only was the scenery some of the most spectacular we've ever seen, but the level of service, professionalism, knowledge and attentiveness were truly second to none. When they talk about the shadow effect in businesses, it's clear that someone as wonderful as Jaclyn is at the helm. Her care, attention to detail, responsiveness and all around loveliness spreads out to her amazing team and allows them to show up as their fullest selves and truly live into their superpowers. The guides Sebastian, Emmy and Jack were so wonderful and as a result of Sebastian's guidance, and my son's and Emmy's encouragement;), I was able to kayak my first class 4 rapid (something which gave me endless mom points with my son:)) and live to tell the story;-).
