I came for the grilled fish with rice. It's absolutely delicious. Always fresh, server with a tangy tomato sauce. It's never been crowded whenever I go, but I notice that most of their patrons are groups of men, probably coming in for a bite after prayers. There are a few families now & then too. But it's always a comfortable atmosphere with good service. The wait staff is young boys, so if you want something, just call them over instead of expecting them to circle around. 2026 April 6: 1) mixed grill 2) grilled chicken 3) Arabian salad 4) foul ( bean tomato soup ) 5) hummus 6) yoghurt with cucumber. Both the grilled entrees are excellent and the foul is very tasty. The Arabian salad is different in that it comes with mainly carrots rather than tomatoes. The bread was large and came in a colorful plate. Parking was street parking only and we were lucky to get a spot. read more

I have to say, this is a pure gem in the Bronx in little Yemen. Beautiful ambiance indoors, exceptional service, and authentic flavorful food with incredible seasoning! I love it here and will always go back to visit. Once you have the flat bread make sure you finish it first before it gets dry. We got mixed grill platter but it's not pictured because it got devoured. then an authentic yemeni dish kind of like a shredded lamb stew and we finished the meal with some moroccan tea which was phenomenal. everyone is very friendly and caring and soft spoken it's really good service and the people dining are kind too. 10/10 A++ this is a MUST go. A few Yemen restaurants are popping up in the Bronx and since I was visiting my best friend, we decided to give this place a chance and check them out. With that said, we had a wonderful experience. The people that served us were very nice and welcoming. They explained anything on the menu that we didn't understand and in the end we ordered two appetizers and two entrees. Their Baba Canouch (eggplant dip) was very delicious. It was whipped well and I can taste the smokiness of the grilled eggplant. What I liked most is that it came with freshly made warm bread that just helped tie all the yummy flavors together. Their Falafel was also very tasty too. It was warm and crunchy outside but soft and fragrant on the inside. As for their Mixed Grill platter, it was grilled perfectly. The meat was tender and the rice was fluffy. I also like that their entree came with lamb broth soup and salad which helped to make the entire dish into a delicious tasting experience. Lastly, we had the Salta, which is freshly cooked rooted vegetables with minced lamb for flavoring and that was really good too. Overall, my experience here was wonderful. The owner told me that he has plans to expand the restaurant to have it look more like the decor from his country. I seriously can't wait to visit this restaurant again when I visit my friend and I look forward to their new renovation. Oh and one more thing, their tea is complimentary! read more

I would give this spot 5 stars if the ambience and service improved! The hubster and I are big fans of supporting neighborhood spots so when we found Oasis on Yelp we rushed to try it. We entered the deserted establishment and were looked at as if we had seven heads. Not sure if they weren't expecting customers due to a private party they were setting up for but if looks could kill we would be twelve feet under! I don't even recall the grumpy man saying hello. On a side note this cold welcome was not even geared towards our sexual orientation it was just a bad energy that was not customer friendly. Where they lacked in customer service though they made up with the food. The hummus was awesome. So were our entrees; I ordered the chicken kabob with rice and my partner in crime ordered the mixed grilled. Everything we ordered was fresh, well cooked and very flavorful. While on a work assignment in the Bronx NY my partner and I were looking for middle eastern food. Oasis seemed a perfect spot. Instead we found a mirage. Our first warning should have been that it was empty at 12:30 except for us. Then we waited 30 minutes for our food. Another bad sign. I ordered the lamb and beef shawarma platter. It was not the shawarma I was expecting. Instead it was more reminiscent of warmed over carne asada with lamb. The spices were bland and the meat tough. My colleague had a chicken kebab wrap which he enjoyed. Bread was pita I could have purchased at a grocer. The best part of our meal was the hummus and tabouleh we ordered as sides. Fairly standard for a Middle East restaurant and I was happy they got that right. A final note and the one that guaranteed a single star rating was the charge of 18% tip on our bills. They have the best tabouli salad I've ever tasted.This jewel of a restaurant serves a mostly middle-eastern clientele. I'd like to change that. It offers great food for anyone of any nationality. In addition to the abundant meaty dishes, I found plenty of vegetarian choices, so if you're a carnivore, omnivore, or a veg-centered nutcase like me, you won't go hungry. You'll be glad you came. The staff was helpful and friendly, the service was quick and they have a wonderful selection of middle-eastern deserts to end the meal. Time well spent and your taste-buds will thank you! read more

Excellent food. Had roasted chicken and friend had haneeth. The rice was seasoned with cardamom and cloves for a delicious change. Comes with lamb broth soup and salad. I didn't give it 5 stars because the service was ok. The waiter took our order and that's about it. Nothing wrong per day, but it wasn't exactly welcoming either. Also the font on the menu was very small and difficult to read. Parking can be tricky as it's a busy area. Worth the effort if you find a spot. read more

Big place. Men's bathroom is disgusting. It smells bad like they never clean it and there was no soup in the dispenser. Service was a little slow but the waitress was courteous. We wanted some grilled fish but they had none. At this point we were ready to walk out but decided to order some appetizers instead. I'm glad we decided to stay. The food was really good. We just came back from our first dinner here and it wont be close to our last. The food here is wonderful, delicate, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The tables are spaced with room in between, It it clean and has a bit of a catering hall vibe, but comfortable. When we went there it wasn't that busy mainly locals from the growing middle eastern community, but the last day of a long weekend isn't a big dinner out night. The owner asked us when we first sat down "have you eaten middle eastern food before" We assured him we had. He later recommenced the tabuli and it was some of the best I have ever had, fresh, light, lemony with out being acidic. We had a very nice humos lightly spiced and not at all gummy. And the best falafal I have had on this coast, light and crispy not heavy or greasy. My husband had the chef platter a large mixed grill plate. Nothing was over cooked, it was all juicy even the chicken. (and grilled chicken is hard to get fully cooked but juicy and not mushy) the char from the grill is well done. I had the Kufta and it was done with a lovely lamb, a rare thing not to have the less expensive beef mixed in. The rice was amazing, fragrant and perfectly spiced, fluffy and so tasty. (I am trying to do low carb, and that, and the hand made pita made it really hard) As you might expect in a really good middle eastern restaurant, there is no liqueur served but we had hot tea, both were black his was with fresh mint (a nice change from the just mint and sweet tea you find in some places) and mine was a black tea flavored with herbs I know I tasted thyme and rosemary. It may sound odd but it was lovely. We didn't get desert because we were stuffed but will next time. The waitress told us that on Friday there is a lunch buffet, with food from all over the middle eastern area. We are looking forward to it. All in all one of the best new restaurants we have been to in a while. It is worth it to come up to the Bronx, and I hope it stays in business a long time, but im not worried its that good. read more

My brother and I walked into this restaurant after a long enjoyable stroll through Bronx Zoo. We were immediately greeted by a cordial waiter who seated us and handed us each a menu. After a quick look, we decided to get two plates of the Kufta Kebab which were very reasonably priced. First came the salad which was dressed in a nice red spicy sauce. Then our fries came. They were covered in a red paprika powder of some sort which added a great kick to the food, but it was applied just a little *too* generously. The real surprise came when he brought us our main order. Each plate had FOUR, that is right four long seekh kebabs and brown basmati rice. The rice was great, cooked to perfection. The kebabs were good too, but slightly bland. That was made up, though, by a nice sauce that he had handed us which ( made of various peppers crushed and blended together) Overall the experience was great, the next time I come to the Bronx I think I'll drop by again... read more

Honestly, the food was good but they were dishonest. We were a group of 6, we ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees which were decent. When I got the bill, the lady only gave me the total invoice with space for tip and total. So I gave her 20% tip. Then my friend asked for the detailed invoice which I glanced over quickly and made sure all the items were actually ordered by us. Then I got home and looked at it again. Of course, I found 18% gratuity was already added. This made me realize why the lady only gave me the total bill (so she can get tipped twice). I called the restaurant to complain, but they kept hanging up on me and finally I got a hold of the manager (His name is Mohammad). He promised to "look into it" and call me back within the hour. I was introduced to this restaurant a while back, and I was in love with it after my first visit. The restaurant is in, what appears to me, to be a quiet neighborhood. The facade is welcoming, and the interior is phenomenal. It's so spacious, elegant, and clean! Meat Arayes (5/5) - Grilled pita, stuffed with ground meat, melted cheese, and spices. I know, I know.......it sounded irresistible to me too, so I ordered it. Wow, the portion was so generous. The cheese was not overpowering, and neither were the spices. All of the ingredients complimented one another so well. My favorite aspect of this dish is how juicy the meat is! I've ordered arayes in other restaurants, and sometimes the meat can be a bit dry....but not here! I love meat, and this appetizer left me smiling. Mix Grill (5/5) - This dish comes with chicken, kufta, and shish. However, I asked her to substitute the shish for another kufta (I absolutely LOVE kufta!) and she happily agreed. It came with a hearty serving of rice and veggies. The best part is that the chicken and kufta were seared well, but the meat was still so moist. I've been around, and few places can pull off what Oasis pulled off with their protein-star Mix Grill platter. This is a jewel in that part of town, and I will certainly be back. read more

On one hand, everything seems to be reasonably priced and PROBABLY delicious but I will never know since I couldn't even get past ordering with the woman who answers the phone. I wanted to make sure they delivered to my address, so when she asked if she could take my order I asked her if she wanted to know the address to make sure. She said yes, so after telling her my address I give her my order. Then, she asks for my address. I couldn't understand what was going on and I wasn't able to make out what she was saying although she did say "Oasis" and I said "I can't hear you" to which she said "Okay" and hung up. I just ordered from this place and the man that picked up the phone took my order over the phone. He was very rude and disrespectful. They took an hour to deliver my food. On top of that the never rang my bell. In addition, the restaurant (not the deliveryman) called my phone one time and I missed the call. I returned the call a minute later and the same man picked up telling me that he told the deliveryman to come back to the restaurant. I requested that they bring my food. The man on the phone nastily replied not to call him again. He also mad a threat toward me as well. He said: "I will blow your fucking head off". Never go to this place.
