I decided to look on Yelp for dinner. It was my first time ordering from this place and I wanted somthing lean and somewhat healthy. Living in the bronx for 2 years now I never came across this place, (that's odd because my husband and I are restuarant junkies) anywho..... Instead of personally driving there I ordered through Yelp which was fast and easy saw a picture of what I wanted and the price was reasonable, was skeptical on the wait time because I was straving and the wait time was 30-40 mins but I have to say the food from the picture looked appealing so I had to try it out. To my surprise the food came very fast (thank god) I have to say the grilled chicken was the best I tasted in weeks, so moist and tender and seasoned to perfection and the roasted potatoes was delicious also the salad with the feta cheese was amazing. The only things they forgot was my peta bread, I was a bit disappointed but I'm trying to loose weight again so I guess the potatoes was enough carbs. I will order again from this place anytime. Thanks!

We ordered twice from here in a week. First time, I was feeling brave and wanted to try something new! I came across Nana's kitchen under Mediterranean category and realized that it has mainly Albanian cuisine which is apparently very close to Turkish cuisine. They have Quofte like we have kofte, their suxhuk is same as our sucuk, they serve feta cheese along the salad, their bread is like our pide, their rice pudding is like our sutlac, list goes on and on. So You get the picture of how similar it is. I was wondering if they could satisfy our high expectations, and ordered kofte plate for my husband with a combination plate( kofte and sucuk) for me. The delivery arrived within the time window. Wow and the kofte tasted amazing. It was well cooked, juicy and has very fulling portions. I didn't like the sucuk a lot- mainly it is me being picky here with the need for particular spices that I want to taste in the sucuk. I ordered baklava and rice pudding as a dessert. Baklava had pecans/chestnuts which I am kind of allergic but my husband liked it. (I like more the pistachio filled baklava- which I can try if they ever put in the menu) I tried the rice pudding: it was very mildly sweet and fresh. I am not a sweet tooth and it satisfied my need for something semi- sweet very well. Overall , The portions were just right. We felt full -not being overfull. Today we ordered again- kofte and quesdia with chicken this time. Again everything was delicious and very timely delivered. So I have all the reasons to love this place- good food, timely delivery and reasonable prices. I definitely recommend Nana's kitchen for those who want to taste good, authentic Albanian/Turkish food in the Bronx.

This was my first time trying Albanian food and I came in knowing nothing about what Qebapa is (Albanian sausage) or a lot of other things on the menu meant but our server was really nice and answered all our questions politely. We started with water, I am not sure if they serve tap water or not but our server got us bottled water, which was $1 each. Me and my friend shared the combination platter ($13) - qebapa(5 pieces), Suxhuk(2 pieces) and Qofte(2 pieces) and they were all amazing and had great flavor. It comes with salad, home made bread and feta cheese. The bread and cheese were amazing and the sausages were made fresh. I highly recommend trying the combination, it can be easily shared. The food is not expensive, you get a good quantity for the price you pay. I just think the food was a little saltier and greaser, but that's my personal preference/opinion. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone and will go again when I'm in the area.

Çka Ka Qëllu has been on my radar for a while now. I first heard about it several years ago when…read morethey first opened in the Arthur Ave neighborhood - standing out as a traditional Albanian restaurant amongst the sea of Italian eateries. Fast forward to the present day, and they have gained considerable attention. The restaurant has made the NYT's Top 100 Restaurants in NYC list for the past 4 years, they have expanded to two (soon three) other locations, and is a favorite among the social media and celeb crowd (this is allegedly one of Dua Lipa's favorite restaurants in the city). That being said, we thought it would be a great spot to celebrate a family member's birthday - so I booked a table and off we went. Çka Ka Qëllu is located on Hughes adjacent to the back entrance of the Arthur Ave Retail Market. The restaurant is gorgeous - it's pretty spacious with three main dining rooms. The decor is a showstopper in itself - the exposed stone walls coupled with the abundance of artwork and old world accents placed throughout the dining area make this seem more like a museum than a restaurant. The ethnic music that is piped throughout the restaurant completes the feel. I honestly couldn't stop looking around. There menu is pretty expansive - most of the items I had not heard of before, but it's also approachable as they spell it out for you in the description what each dish is. We were a party of seven, so to make things easy we aligned to share everything. My brother and I decided to take lead and order items from each section. We decided to start with the ajvar, sausage dip, and tarator. These were all delicious; essentially dips, they all had great flavor and were paired with hot crusty bread mmmm. We then got a bunch of other dishes: leçenik, burek, fili, fasule with smoked meat, mantia, mazë e zier, and a shop salad. As with the dips, everything here was delicious. It's hard to pick the standouts because everything was so good - honest food, full of flavor and depth. Okay you twisted my arm - if I had to choose, my favorites were the burek and the mazë e zier. I love a good burek, and this one was top drawer. The pull on the mazë e zier was out of this world, yet it was easy to maneuver with great flavor. We ended the meal with one of their grilled dishes - namely the mixed meat combo. We chose five meats and they paired them with some vegetables and potato. At risk of sounding like a broken record - this was delicious as well. Service was awesome - everyone was welcoming and the food came out at a good pace. Overall, Çka Ka Qëllu is an absolute yes - the food, the decor, and the service were all aces. The hype is real and they deserve all the accolades they have received. Goes without saying, but I would definitely return for another meal - take me back now!

For drinks, I had the Legally Blonde with oranges, lemon, pineapple, and ginger root. It tasted healthy and not too sweet. I personally wished I tasted more ginger in it. I went with the Captain Jack wrap with an impossible burger as the protein, vegan mozzarella, sweet potato french fries, lettuce, and bbq sauce. This wrap blew my mind. As soon as I pulled it apart the cheese just stretched across both wraps. The i.possi ke burger and sweet potato fries blended beautifully, and it had just the right amount bbq sauce to not feel over-saturated. I highly recommend it.

Once alerted that my order was ready, I pulled up and grabbed a metered spot right in front. As I entered, the shop it was empty but the staff was busy working on online orders in the open kitchen. Seating is available at a couple tables and counter top. I grabbed a seat as I waited because my order wasn't actually complete. Staff was pleasant but clearly behind on orders. Once completed I grabbed my order and headed out. I went with the #5. Breezin- strawberry, pineapple, peach, w/ orange juice base and I added banana. Overall a local spot offering healthy options on the go. I can tell you that will never happen again because they seem to short patrons. We all ordered rice platters and everyone got decent-sized portions. My lamb kofta was abysmal. They gave me three small, dry ass pieces. Everyone else's platters were full of proteins. If they ran out of kofta they should have given something else or let my husband know. My daughter had a full piece of salmon filet, my husband received lamb and chicken mixed grill and it covered his rice portion, and my son had a full serving of lamb kebab. What they served for my order was obviously missing meat. They don't even give the actual "white" sauce - it's like a low-budget ranch and the hot sauce is probably bottled Red Hot brand. The rice was decent and there was a lot of red onion, cole slaw and tomato salad - much more than there was meat. If they're sending food to the same home, they should do a better job of ensuring that the meals are comparable. This was a terrible thing to come home to, after a long day working with patients. Never again.

BTW, the wrap makes the shawarma less hefty and helps you taste the meat and sauces rather than get overwhelmed by the bread. So much more interesting a sandwich. Less hefty. More of a delicacy.
