Dinner was easy to order for my father in law who stayed by her side, and surprisingly affordable. The facility is spacious and impressive. Rooms are private and nicely appointed. There are activities for patients daily and even a cocktail hour. How cool! Her nurse Rita tucked her in at night and was a delight. Someone in particular that really stood out today is Melissa, the staffing coordinator. We had some concerns and she most graciously put us ease and went out of her way to ensure that our relative is comfortable and well taken care of. She was an especially bright spot during a stressful time and really makes Carlton Shores shine. All in all, we are so impressed thus far with our experience here. We are so grateful that we chose this particular place to care for our loved one and feel she is in great hands. 5 stars all around!

Instead, our experience has been deeply concerning: minimal follow-through on rehab, poor staffing, and food that was unacceptable for someone recovering and needing proper support. I would give less than one star if I could. Families should pay very close attention if a loved one is placed here. If you see the same lack of care or feel your concerns are being ignored, consider contacting your insurance company and Florida Adult Protective Services. We thought at the time things were ok, always framed from staff like mom was doing well and engaged, until we moved her to find out more. Even being in and out it wasn't enough to protect mom. Come to find out that mom told staff how frighten she was with nursing care, today I come to find out these concerns went unnoticed/ignored or un-responded to by the chain of command. Staff took mom to color daily at a table that was Pretty much the extent of the services that this facility offered my 95-year-old Mom. Always making us feel like she was doing well and ok. As if this isn't enough, we left on terrible Circumstances after a hurricane impacted our area in the Holly Hill Facility. Riviera Assisted Living evacuated with no plan, how can you not have a plan as an ALF? Some staff insiders admitted there was no plan and if it were not for the directors previous employment in Winter Park, they would have had nowhere to evacuate. I asked for the plan from the Director via email and it was never shared. Since this incident We contacted a vice president at five star, We contacted local area managers and no one takes time to return a phone call or hear a concern. We were given 1 business day to decide to relocate mom after the facility notified us that she could not return due to damages in the building, who does this? My mother was returned in a condition worse than she was evacuated by the ALF prior to evacuation, she's regressed physically that has previously healed. She spent nights on a cot when she was evacuated to a non 5star facility. When I greeted mom she had tears in her eyes and was crying from the evacuation. Correspondence/email to the director go unanswered. There was water damage on mom's personal belongings again no confirmation. SOME of the staff-sing the directors praises, due to wanting job security, yet we have another side to tell. A full investigation and revocation of the ALF licensure should be considered immediately. This is not a safe place with caring, compassionate people that are there to serve the elderly at a premium fee. If I could give no stars I would. Pm me for more info.

After searching many Independent/Assisted living facilities I narrowed it down to two. In my heart I knew that Riviera was the perfect place for my dad to call home. When you walk in you are greeted by a sincere and caring staff. I can't say enough wonderful things about Ann, Marilyn and Kelli. Every person I have met is kind and caring from the maintenance staff, housekeeping and dining services. The activities are fun and engaging and the meals and dining room are top notch. The apartments are spacious and well appointed and I love that it's all inclusive, from cable, meals, activities, utilities and transportation. I am so thankful I have found such a wonderful place for my Dad and I highly recommend Riviera to anyone who wants to best for their loved one..

There was what appeared to be a blood stain on the floor, the sink was covered with grime and trash, flies were flying around inside the facility, and the walls were caked with dust. The overall cleanliness was completely unacceptable for any healthcare setting, especially one providing end-of-life care. We were told my grandfather would receive 24-hour care, yet we found him left unattended in the common area, without clothing from the waist down and covered only by a thin blanket. No patient deserves to be treated with such a lack of dignity, especially someone in hospice care. The room he was assigned to housed three other patients. There was no privacy, no peace, and no sense of comfort. End-of-life care should provide compassion, dignity, and a calm environment for patients and their families. This facility provided none of those things. We ultimately transferred my grandfather to another hospice provider where he was given a private, peaceful room and received the compassionate care he deserved. The difference in the quality of care and environment was night and day. Based on our experience, I would never recommend this facility to anyone. The conditions we witnessed were shocking and unacceptable for a place responsible for caring for vulnerable patients. Families should not have to worry about basic cleanliness, dignity, and compassionate care during one of the most difficult times of their lives. I sincerely hope no other family has to experience what ours did.

" . She always, always has her employees safety and well being in mind. I found my calling and I am lucky/ blessed enough to find a company to work for that I love. I can not express how thankful I am! This agency is all I had hoped for and more. The owner is a wonderful lady with excellent credentials. Unlike the last agency we had, she puts her caregivers through up to date training, and they are all so reliable and professional. When I call I'm treated with respect, so unlike the last agency. They were always unpleasant and hurried. They are nurses at Onyx, and their experience in the field certainly shows Her aide has been outstanding, and works extremely hard to help my mom. The last agency all the aides wanted was to be taken to a restaurant or watch television. We rescued dad from the Gardens when I found his urine soaked clothing heaped in his closet. The smell was disgusting. AND numerous items of clothing were missing as well. At this point my dad told me his roommate had been bringing women into the room at night. Dad pretended to be sleeping... I'll never know if this was true, OR a result of the massive UTI he had, no doubt from sitting in his diapers so long. I would never recommend the Gardens. Never.
