Actually this civic center is known as the White Bunny Park. The place is easy to walk around and have big open grassy areas for picnics and taking photos. In fact, I saw two groups of people taking professional family photos the day I visited. It also have a big parking structure, so ample parking for visitors. I probably will stop by this place again when I visit Newport Beach. It is a cool place to stretch your legs after a long morning cruise and have interesting instagrammable places to make memories as well!

Lines clearly drawn. + Lots of fencing around each court, highly reducing ball-on interferences. + Water refill station right by the courts. Pretty big parking lot. The restroom is accessible inside the Community Center during their business hours. Non-likes: - Not a lot of people come here for pick-up pickleball games. You likely have to bring your own people. Others bring their own people for private play or coaching. If you're lucky, you might find nice people there who'll let you join in. - It's near the beach, so strong breezes should be no surprise to you. Despite the wind tarps layered all along the surrounding fence, gusts still definitely affect gameplay. The day I went, there was a boxing tournament inside the Community Center, so parking was PACKED. Struggled to find parking for 10 minutes. What's worse is the other side park prohibits parking there for pickleball players. However, I just got off the phone with an associate who said that this was actually a rare event, and that normally parking is pretty open.

The school lacked patience, and an inclusive approach to young children with different developmental needs. Most disappointing was the disconnect between the values the school claims to represent and the way our family was treated. Despite its connection to the JCC, we did not experience the compassion, acceptance, or sense of community that we associate with Jewish values. In contrast, Temple Beth El in Aliso Viejo welcomed our youngest son with warmth, kindness, and genuine support. They took the time to build a relationship with him and our family, and he is thriving there today. We saw a huge difference in just a few months. I can't even imagine why my son was so upset at the JCC and so happy at TBESOC. The difference between the two experiences has been absolutely remarkable- down to the background and tenure of the teachers. If you want a school that promotes actual Jewish values and truly cares for your children, Aronoff school is NT it.

But due to work, I have only been able to take a few classes throughout the years. But I do love the variety of classes that they offer and how constant their schedule is. If you are looking for a Japanese school for your child to attend, they offer that. If you would like to just learn more about the community through the different cultural classes, just sign up for the emails and you can be alerted for upcoming classes that they offer. I've taken amigurumi (crochet), ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), and a cooking class. All of the instructors are great and mostly volunteers. So it just shows you what a great community there is. They have festivals through the year and also help put on the West Covina Cherry Blossom Festival. They also host the West Covina obon at the center but it is organized by the Buddhist church which is based out of the community center. So there is just a lot of activities that you can get involved with.

However, it is on the longer side, so I recommend coming prepared for a bit of distance. The views definitely make it worth it though. You can always ditch and go back to your car at any point if you find the hike too long. One of my favorite parts is that there are some great coffee shops you can stop by near different access points along the loop. The area also feels very safe. Overall, this is a perfect go-to trail if you're looking for something scenic and easy.

The project continues…read more As far as I know, this is the only park on Balboa Island. I'm not sure whether the little island needs a park, as it's too small for any real activity other than a half-court basketball game or toddlers and very small children playing. It does have the Carroll Beek Community Center. Again, I'm not sure that such a wealthy area needs a community center, but I hope they make good use of it. It seems sort of wrong that dogs aren't allowed, but I can understand it from a landscaping perspective, and speaking of the greenery, it really is beautiful. The appearance of the park itself and its half basketball court probably deserve four stars. But it also happens to be on Agate Street only a block away from the beloved Balboa Island Ferry, and when I came on a Saturday afternoon in August, the line of cars waiting to board the ferry stretched from the ferry itself to Park Avenue, which is the middle of the island. Most people in line were waiting patiently and safely, but there was one jerk in a Maserati who would allow a few spaces to open up ahead of him and then rev his engine a bunch before speeding forward and then stopping right behind the car ahead of him. It was rude, obnoxious behavior; and it was happening right in front of a park, the single place on the entire island where a briefly unattended child was likeliest to run, stumble, or toddle out into traffic. I'm sure no one who lives on this stretch of Agate appreciates the ferry and its lines, but I do wonder why the city chose to site the island's only park on one of its three busiest streets. Almost every single other street on the island is totally quiet 97 percent of the time. Maybe the land was cheap?

The Delhi Center is one of the City of Santa Ana's many community centers. I've been here a few…read moretimes for different meetings and events. It's tucked away in a residential neighborhood next to a school. The center features outdoor areas, indoor event spaces and meeting rooms. The center hosts a food and diaper distribution program a couple times a month for the community in partnership with local non-profits like Second Harvest food bank and Community Action Partnership. There are also youth and senior programs offered here. What makes the Delhi Center 5 stars for me now is the addition of the new City of Santa Ana Library they opened on site! I stopped in last month while I was there for a work event to get a Santa Ana library card. Any California resident can get a card.
