The Home Depot parking lot has smelled like a decaying body for as long as I can remember. Every…read moretime I visit, the odor is overwhelming and extends all the way to the front entrance of the store. At this point, management should seriously consider having someone inspect the plumbing or sewer system because something is clearly not right. Ironically, the smell disappears once you walk inside, but unfortunately, the customer service doesn't improve much. Whenever I ask an associate for assistance, I get the impression that I'm inconveniencing them. The dirty looks and dismissive attitudes make it feel like they wish customers would rather not ask for help at all. I will give credit where it is due. One employee, Mari, was extremely helpful during one of my visits and was able to discount a damaged item I was purchasing. I genuinely appreciated her assistance and professionalism. However, a single positive interaction cannot outweigh what has otherwise been a consistently poor experience. I've been to this store numerous times for various home improvement projects and have likely interacted with 15 to 20 different employees over the years. Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of those interactions have been negative or unhelpful. While Mari deserves recognition for doing a great job, one exceptional employee is not enough to offset the overall customer service culture at this location. I keep hoping things will improve, but after years of dealing with the odor outside and the lackluster customer service inside, I simply can't justify giving this store a higher rating.
