The Home Depot parking lot has smelled like a decaying body for as long as I can remember. Every time I visit, the odor is overwhelming and extends all the way to the front entrance of the store. At this point, management should seriously consider having someone inspect the plumbing or sewer system because something is clearly not right. Ironically, the smell disappears once you walk inside, but unfortunately, the customer service doesn't improve much. Whenever I ask an associate for assistance, I get the impression that I'm inconveniencing them. The dirty looks and dismissive attitudes make it feel like they wish customers would rather not ask for help at all. I will give credit where it is due. One employee, Mari, was extremely helpful during one of my visits and was able to discount a damaged item I was purchasing. I genuinely appreciated her assistance and professionalism. However, a single positive interaction cannot outweigh what has otherwise been a consistently poor experience. I've been to this store numerous times for various home improvement projects and have likely interacted with 15 to 20 different employees over the years. Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of those interactions have been negative or unhelpful. While Mari deserves recognition for doing a great job, one exceptional employee is not enough to offset the overall customer service culture at this location. I keep hoping things will improve, but after years of dealing with the odor outside and the lackluster customer service inside, I simply can't justify giving this store a higher rating. read more

I come here to plan my future back yard dreams. I really like this location! Always clean and the service is normally great. They have all I need all the time. If I can't get what I need for my next project here I probably don't need to do it. The value is pretty good considering the majority of projects you are coming in to support aren't cheap. Everybody knows what Home Depot is known for. Everybody has seen the commercials. My husband loves Home Depot. This is his store. This is his go-to place for work and our home. The only areas I'm familiar with are the gardening section and the holiday section. Their flowers are beautiful, and their holiday decor is adorable! This store is huge. Their aisles are pretty spacious, and i think everything is very organized. They have a lot of staff, and almost all the time, you have to be the one to say excuse me to them if you need help. Staff seem knowledgeable, maybe some more than others. The man who helped us, Omar, was friendly and quick. He cut our new shutters and put in an online special order for us. We did have to make two trips, but I think that's expected. My husband loves the self checkout and the checkout in the gardening section. read more

The spotter rolled his eyes and the forklift driver said "Yes you are." I am a Home Depot Pro and have a credit account here. Customer Service, Honoring delivery time frames for flooring. I was given a 4 hour timeframe window 6am-10am which was ridiculous but i preferred that over having to rush home when I got the call that they were on their way. 10:08, I call the store as there's no delivery, 7 mins later, Maria (?) gets on the line. Looks up my info, says she can't track the drivers so she'll call me back. 10:52 I call the store back, 9 minutes later, someone gets on the phone and says I guess no one on flooring wants to take your call. Not funny. But anyway, I tell her the issue. She looks it up and says that they are gathering the product and will call me when they are on the way. Total Bullshit. I opted for the four hour timeframe because I work 35 mins away and didn't want them to wait. Now I'm waiting because no one can honor the delivery times, or at the very least provide decent customer service. Such a joke. If I hadn't already waited a week for them to come out and measure, then another week for them to come out and deliver the material for install tomorrow, I'd cancel. But I'm stuck. read more

Found what I needed-, a 10' piece of 5/8" rebar, but couldn't get ANYBODY to help-- or rather, couldn't get em to stick with me more than a minute , let alone see that I got the rebar down, out of it's bundle, (and WHY is it still bundled?!?!?), & in my hands!!!.. I have consistently had great experiences at THIS Home Depot on Gosford. Like an earlier reviewer, I purchased a toilet at another Home Depot across town. It was a curbside pickup. When I got home, I realized that had given me the wrong toilet, so I called about coming back to exchange it. Instead of being helpful, they wanted to first check video footage treating me like a criminal instead of a customer. And for their mistake. Fortunately, I called the Gosford Home Depot and was able to get it exchanged. Customer service was excellent and I will continue to give them my business. read more

I want to take the time to thank Dennis at Home depot and his staff for making a horrible experience at the home Depot on Ming Ave and turning it into a great experience. I purchased a new toilet system at a different location and it was missing a part. I went back to the original store and was treated like I was trying to steal something, I asked for the manager and waited and he never showed up. I had already paid for the install and but was missing the water tank cover, so I tried a different store but guess what no one else had it. Dennis and his team looked and tried to find me the missing piece and where able to take care of my problem! I really wish all stores where this helpful, they didn't even sell me the equipment but made sure I was taken care, all this with a really busy location, I will be returning to this store for sure! read more

After becoming a home owner, I find myself at Home Depot often. I never cared nor did I ever visit Home Depot until I actually had to buy things for my house. Almost everything you need for your home can be found here. We can easily spend tons of money at this place trying to improve our home and we can literally get lost browsing around. When you spend time walking around you're able to get ideas for your home based on all the products on display, but don't settle because Home Depot has a catalog for practically everything. The workers here are extremely friendly and every time I visit this location there's always workers walking around asking customers if they found everything okay, which is nice to get acknowledgment and directed to the right place. If you're a home owner then Home Depot is the place to be for your home needs! read more

Not only do they deceive you by false advertising and false delivery dates, they just flat cancel your order because it's not going to be there at the prescribed date. If you order online number one don't expect to get the item you ordered number two don't ever expect to get it on the date they tell you they're going to send it. It might be months later, even then if you complain about it, not showing up on time they just flat cancel your order. What a lowlife company this is. read more

I usually have had a good experience here and everything was always gone smoothly. Recently, I have been checking online to make sure they have stock of whatever product I am looking for. These last 3 times I have done that and there is no stock even when the website says available stock. I was even told one day they will be restocking, then came back the next day and no one had restocked. Not sure if the staff just hangs out and chills but it seems they are just chatting around instead of helping out customers. An exception goes to the staff at the garden checkouts. They seem to try their best at helping out, but when they call for help it seems that no one wants to help out. I hope this improves. Until then, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I am sick and tired of being solicited and approached by the Solar City salespeople. For the past year (or more) I've had to purposely avoid the kiosk at the from of aisle 10 and walk all the way around to avoid their solicitation. Last weekend, I was minding my own business in the electrical aisle and was hounded by a Solar City salesperson! I feel violated. I feel disturbed. And I feel bombarded by their sales pitch every time I shop at this (and other) Home Depot stores. I'm about an inch away from making a formal complaint. It's the only thing I can think of besides losing my mind and yelling at the Solar City sharks. If I want something, I will buy it. If I think I need something, I will research it on my own. Solicitation is the most annoying and violating experience. Especially when I just want to shop and get back home. I went here a couple days ago on my ongoing treasure hunt trying build something odd. I was stunned. I've never happened upon a Home Depot with such nice, helpful, positive employees (or many stores around here in general). Oh, except for 3 young men in gardening who were too busy joking around about whose butt they'd like to kick. Asked them where something was. No offer to go with me. Much more important things for them to do, you see. But the older guy in plumbing was so patient with my back and forth indecisiveness and putting back and picking up same thing what with trying to find the obscure doodad I needed for my funky project. The nice young woman at Returns was pleasant too. OH and their store music! Old 70s soft rock/pop one hit wonder really GOOD old stuff. Loved it!!! Your typical Home Depot - Huge! As of Oct 2016, the Solar City people are still in there 'urging' people to go solar! No, thank you! Again! I go in here only if I really need something like grass seed, furnace filters but my purchase usually involves cleaning products too. They actually have a very good selection at reasonable prices. I usually pick up dishwasher and laundry tablets as well as new scents for our wall plug ins. Harder to find help at this location, I find esp. in the garden center. Overall, it is neat and tidy. I just wish there was a way to find things myself here, faster. The overhead row labels are just not enough. Checking out can sometimes take a bit but I do like the self check-out as an option. I went in to this store for French doors to be installed in my home and the associate set me up me paperwork for a installation guy to come measure and quote me, she said he will call me Monday to schedule me in. Well Wednesday is here and I haven't heard anything. I go in here regularly as I live near by. But today I had an exceptional experience when I went in to purchase a mobile workbench/toolbox. I shopped for it first on line and saw that the stock was down to one left. So I went to the spot where it should be and struck out. So I enlisted help from the associate named Dominick. He was very courteous and offered to check all the possible places where it might be stashed away. 10 minutes later he came and found me and showed me where in the back corner of the store, up on the very top rack, he found two of the items. So he went and got a forklift and retrieved it for me and went on my merry way. Thanks for everything Dominick! I wish more of your fellow team members were as helpful as you are. I have gone to this Home Depot for years. However, it seems as years gone by, the quality of management continues to deteriorate. The customer service desk is the rudest they come. Wow horrible customer service manage Barb was extremely dismissive and upset that she had to deal with a customer called. I explained to her that her first employee didn't get his name was disinterested in helping a customer and basically took a glance to see if they had the lumber I needed and then said no. I took a better look myself and noticed the lumber in the center aisle still wrapped and on a pallet so I figured I could wait. I then asked another employee named Mat and as he walked away he told me it's going to be a minute I literally had to follow him to get a time frame and he was like a while. So I'm on a job hanging Christmas lights for an elderly lady and I ran out of yard stakes so I go to Home Depot in Gosford I get out of my van and I walk into the store and I grab a extension cord and I grab a yardstick and loss prevention a skinny Hispanic male came up to me and said you need to leave and I said what are you talking about and he said you were with that guy and I said what guy he said the guy told me you were with him I said no I came here by myself you can watch your cameras And he said you need to leave and I said I want to speak to your manager so the manager named Blake comes over to me and I told him what happened and how he's trying to make me leave and not allowing me to buy my items I need because he thinks I was with some guy and he clearly lied about the guy saying he was with me because I would never came there with anybody And add the manager had an attitude like I was a thief and never apologized even though I told him to go watch his cameras and I would sit there and wait for him to see that I came to that store by myself I told him to take me to this guy that said he was with me and they would not do that And I still needed to grab five more boxes and Blake said no you need to pay for that right here at customer service which made me feel like he thought I was going to steal and I said I still need to get five more boxes, and he said OK go grab them and come back here and other employees started following me to go get those boxes and watch me And I get back up to the counter and I said I don't like how you handled that you are treating me like I'm a thief and he and I told him I was going to call corporate and tell him about my experience and he took my merchandising jacket out of here, so I had to go back to my job and tell them that I could not finish the job because I did not have the matching yard stakes And it was too late they were trying to go to sleep. I understand that people stealing is a big thing right now but for a paying customer to come into your store and be treated the way I was treated by management and loss prevention is absolutely ridiculous. They did not even want to go watch the cameras to see the truth that I was not with some guy they actually kicked me out of the store, not letting me buy my merchandise all because I told the manager that I was going to call corporate and report this issue. Then, as I'm pulling off by myself in my work van, the manager, Blake is standing outside with his camera phone taking pictures of my vehicle. This is no way to treat customers and the loss prevention guy lied about someone saying they were with me and the manager Blake handled the situation so poorly. The manager Blake even said well maybe loss prevention just remembers you from the past or something even though I've never stolen from that store in my life. I had a prior incident about a year and a half two years ago with the same manager Blake, where employees kept coming up to me and asking me do you need help? Do you need help every five seconds and I told him no I do not need help, but they kept following me around the store as if I was stealing that time also I will never be back to the store ever again they are the worst customer service I've ever seen in my life I want to speak to the store manager about this, so I'm expecting a message where I can leave my phone number so he can call me and discuss this read more

First let me say that I have spent well over $20,000 at this store in the last 4 years or so. I've been in here dozens of times. Occasionally, I get a really nice, informed, concerned employee to help me. But, OFTEN it is a less than enjoyable exercise. Today I actually had 3 Home Depot Visits, on the first 2 I didn't require help, which always works out well. On the third visit I needed someone to cut a large heavy piece of chain (I've been told to never cut it myself in the past.) I looked around for quite a while, but I didn't find anyone working in that area who might help. So, I went to the front and asked a cashier to please call someone for me. She did not. After 8 minutes, I approached another cashier and explained my lack of success and getting co-operation. She kindly and quickly called and asked for someone to help. 12 minutes later I approached her again and explained my frustration. She said she couldn't do anything. I asked her to call a manager. Ultimately she did call for a manager who arrived shortly and asked me what the problem was. When I explained, his first response was, "He was probably on break, I can't do anything about that." RIIIIGHT! Frustrated, I decided to take leave, at which point the manager, Johnny told me that now he would cut it for me. I told him that would have been great if someone had been happy to give me some service 30 minutes ago.. Given the availability of LOWES as an option, it always amazes when Home Depot doesn't show concern for their customers experiences. read more
