I've been going to this location for years and a review is long overdue. I can't say enough about Christian and his staff at the San Mateo location. Friendly, caring, helpful, and kind are all words I would use for everyone at this location. It's a very different experience from any other location I've been to. Oh and I want to talk about Greg's review. Greg, I'm talking to you Greg. You do realize that the Square point of sales system offers the ability to leave tips for any sale correct? They don't actually have any control over that and Square empowers small businesses to have cutting edge point of sales systems they normally wouldn't be able to afford. If you don't like how that is set up. Talk to Jack Dorsey. Yes, that Jack Dorsey, he owns and invented Square. What I would say to everyone else, is to disregard Greg's review. He's an entitled man Karen. I've been vaping since before vape shops were even a thing in the United States. I call the guys that run the Electronic Cigarette Convention in California friends for the better part of a decade. I've been into hundreds of vape shops in that time and this location has the most thoughtful and professional staff of any vape shop I've been in during my 15+ years of vaping (To give. you a time frame, when I started, Circuit City was still in business). I used to feel like family. The staff was extremely friendly. But....the other day I went in and felt unwelcome, unappreciated, and a little bit threatened. The new manager stated to me "everything is going to change around here, now that I'm the manager". All while he had a gun strapped to his hip.  I stayed to him "you know me brother, and you where so friendly the other day".  He then inappropriately, sarcastically, insulting, rude, and unkindly. The store is large, well organized, clean and the staff is really friendly. That said, they're always out of stock of the vape items I want. I've given them ample time to reorder and restock, a month, and they still are out of the items I want. So I went to another Oasis store and they are out of the items I want as well. Keep track of when you're low on stock of an item and reorder more of that item sooner than later so that you can meet your customers' wants. The staff is eager to please, but there's a caveat. I stumbled upon a well respected job website where former employees gave Oasis Vape a low rating to work for. Their main gripe was their low hourly wage and issues dealing with management. So what was Oasis's response? They added the option for the customer to tip 15% or more of the total sales. I didn't mind that so much when I came in for the first time asking lots of questions because I was new to vaping. Now, I dread buying anything there because I know the staff isn't getting a good wage. I don't feel that I should directly have to supplement their income when I know exactly what I want. I also would feel like a jerk if I chose the not to tip option, even if they were being paid appropriately. When did retail become an industry where it's expected to tip? When I go to Smith's, will I soon need to tip the person who collected my used grocery cart because Smith's doesn't want to pay him or her more? Tipping is a very strange cultural aspect pretty unique to the US. Servers are making around $3 an hour, but they are there to attend to many needs over the course of an entire meal. Who wants to tip 20% on a $70 charge that was only a two-minute transaction? Also, I don't like fake. The employees are disingenuous by being overly friendly. I don't want to be treated like an Icon when their agenda is getting tipped so they can pay their PNM bill. I would hope to be treated decently for simply being a respectable repeat customer who has spent lots of money on merchandise there. Pay your employees more. If you must keep the tip "option", make an obvious choice to be a tip amount of the customers' choosing. 15% on a large retail sale that required little work is nuts. Give me a visibly clear option to choose to tip just $1 or $2. When 15% is the floor percentage to give on a large purchase, that's expecting a lot from your customers. I am trying to buy locally and support our community, but I'm not spending another penny until Oasis isn't constantly out of stock, their employees receive a better base salary , and the current tipping system is drastically changed or eliminated. read more

Just purchased a mod for myself and my fiancé. We are total beginners and came in not knowing what to expect. The staff was super helpful and got us set up. They took time to make sure we understood how things work and made sure we had everything we need. Great Customer Service! They have a good selection of mods and a great selection of juice. They also have a rewards program which is always nice. And great prices! I will definitely be back! This review is for the one located downtown. I went in for my first mod, the staff was super helpful it narrowing down which mod would be best for me. I wanted a different color and he offered to call the other shops but I just ended up getting the one they had, since color wasn't my main concern. They also helped out with picking a juice for it, they have tons of flavors to choose from plus they offer discounts on Wednesdays, Sundays and Military! This was only my second time going to a vape shop in over a year and it happened to be out of town. My girlfriend suggested going here because she purchases good quality juice here and the prices are really good. I have to agree. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have buy one get one on Sundays which is a great deal. I purchased the larger bottle and was flying home the next day and asked could they break it down into smaller bottles so that I could be TSA legal and they accommodated me without question. The other cool thing is that they mix their own juices. You don't see that a whole lot anymore. I was also able to use a 10 percent discount for checking into Yelp. I don't usually write bad reviews, but I feel customer service and satisfaction is everything. They do have a decent selection on glass, but their prices are terrible for the quality. I went in because Betamorph Ecigs is closed on Sunday, and I was introducing a friend to vaping. I was going here for juice myself when I first started, but found Betamorph where I have been gladly going for more than a year and a half. The kids behind the counter at Oasis were obviously high and unprofessional, not knowing anything about their product, and didn't even know the price on the items I asked for. Their juice is poor quality, and not worth the price. If you're looking for smoking paraphernalia, then it's not bad, but do NOT go there for your vaping needs, go to Betamorph where the quality is worth the price. read more

Recently I had the pleasure of working with Steven (the manager?) at the Oasis Vape store in Rio Rancho off Hwy. 528. I am an arthritic with really bad hands. I'm in my 60's. I've lost the strength and flexibility I used to have in my hands and this causes me to drop things repeatedly throughout the day. I like water pipes because they make smoking easy on the soft palate at the back of my throat. This is where the smoke hits you on inhalation. Water pipes mellow out the 'burn' and the heat. Anyway, on this day in Oasis Vape (also my first visit), I needed a water pipe but didn't want a big honkin' one because I smoke alone. I also didn't want something that would break easily. Add to that, I needed a pipe that wasn't heavy. Steve took me to every possible pipe in the store that might be right for me. They have a terrific inventory. It wasn't an easy chore but we hung in there and found something for about $ 10. Obviously, he didn't make much money on me but this fact didn't stop him from giving me a good effort. I will return to Oasis for more shopping because Steven has made a grateful and repeat customer out of me. read more

So lame. I asked for a sample, and the dude said he was all out. Then this chick came back in and returned the bottle he'd just sold her, said she hated it. He gave her a hard time, then finally, "generously" agreed to swap her out another bottle, but told her he wouldn't do it again, and she really needed to know what she wanted. Well, how the hell are you going to know if you like it or not, if you won't let people try before buying? OASIS HAS DRAMATICALLY DECLINED over the past year. The quality & quantity of their juices has reached a bare minimum. There juices used to be top notch but now the FEW they even have all seem to burn your coil out and loose flavor in a matter of a couple days. They seem to care more about bongs and weed products than vape products these days as their new locations carry more of these things than anything for your vape. The crew that works here actually cares about their customer base -- they want you to get the same level of support that they would want. In fact, the speed at which he diagnosed the issue with my the juice that I was given at the Rio Rancho store actually made me even more upset that the Rio Rancho store refused to even look into the issue. I live on the west side, but I am willing to make the drive across the river to go to this store. I never been here before I have shopped many places for vapes and I still went back to smoking cig.. A friend that completed not smoking a cig anymore and gave me his batt pack but no tank suggested I go here.. So I went to the San Mateo location to get one and some flavor liquids .. When I went in the guy named Tim or tom .. Either way looked like a young Seth Rougen helped me out right away .. I asked him if he had the tank he said yes and they asked if I could get some flavor tastes.. All he said is there limited .. So I asked about five or six flavors to try and he said sorry unavailable.. Right away I felt this guy was holding out because the customer next to me was getting offers for free tastings and samples to help decide there decision... Finally I asked what can I try since you give me a list of 100 or more and keep telling me I could not try .... He said there are a few samples on the back wall you have to put on your finger to try.. Annoyed again because he was no help I walk over and try some samples I asked I'm a menthol smoker and I need some help and he sat behind the counter and said try it and see what you fave .. Finally picked two flavors with no help because it sounded fine and wanted to leave for the lack of respect or help .. I told him I smoke a pack a day and he recommend a. 3 when I found out it goes up to 30 % nic .. I do not live in Albuquerque but I've been vapeing for some time now and I'm very familiar with product pricing. I came into this store because I lost my box mod and was looking for a quick replacement. The mark up here on the digital box mods is completely ridiculous to say the least. They are charging 2 to 3 times more then what the products sell for online. That's straight up robbing people. After I let the person helping me out know that I know what these products cost and he's probably even paying a wholesale price was laughable. I was shrugged off and treated pretty rudely after calling him out. He should be ashamed that he treats locals unfamiliar with the vape industry like this. It's pretty embarrassing actually. I strongly suggest anyone considering buying a mod from this place get the model number of the mod and brand you are interested in and search online. Even if you paid for overnight shipping you would still save a ton of money. Disappointed there are people like this taking advantage of the vape industry because it is fairly new and just becoming popular. My buddy's shop was out of coils and I had heard positive reviews so went by to the San Mateo and Comanche location. Right away I realized it's the type of place where, I know, had I had my sleeves rolled up and chest exposed or had huge gauges I would have received better service. Plus God forbid I was in yoga pants with my hair in a sloppy bun. I hate places like this with the core of my being. Where ur judged by how you look and if u don't look cool with half a glance you're ignored. So yup, service was shitty. Like it should be, I treat vaping just like I treated smoking cigarettes, U have ur favorite personal brand whatnot but immersion is unnecessary so I needed help with replacing my coil with a full cartridge of oil. Barely heard vague directions while passing by I believed occurred but by that time I was already pissed so I went to my truck to resolve the issue myself. I of course my try at disassembly ended in spilling every drop of my good oil (I was expecting to fail so not all over me or else the next issue there would have been sternness). I figured it out next try and decided to load the shit they just sold me. Only to find the juice they sold me was flavorless and nothing like the yummy Cotton Candy a friend had. I wanted my money back but compromised with them mixing me a different sweeter flavor. I have yet to try it. I found myself wondering if I could see spit in well shaken oil. The only positive is for once I have shit experience to rag on for the next day or two, and got to blah online about which is unusual for me in my life recently.
