Once upon a time, a young attorney at his first firm invited an associate at said firm on a date. Before Barack and Michelle Obama became one of the world's coolest power couple, they were Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson, and they ended their first date at a Baskin Robbins at 53rd and Dorchester. This may be the most adorable presidential marker known to human kind. It's a 3 ton boulder with a quote from Barack about that very kiss. It's pretty nondescript so easily overlooked, and it's not a Baskin Robbins any longer but a Subway (the BR moved down a couple doors). If you're a fan of presidential history, a mega fan of president Obama particularly, or just walking around the neighborhood take a selfie and to prove you've been to the site where where history was made. NICE piece of loving history from our exemplary President and First Lady Michelle Obama. There needs to be more signage to direct to Their Spot, as THIS is historic!

It's history so what can you say about that?! In the beautiful Hyde Park area a marker rests commemorating the 44th President and FLOTUS first kiss. When you go on your first date the thought couldn't possibly be, 'I'm kissing the future President of The United States! Or better for him she will be the future mother of two beautiful children. The story he told Oprah about the 'First Kiss' is inscribed on the rock. "'On our first date, I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate." The rock is plain and understated but the symbolism says it all. As I stopped to take photos a man and his son approached the monument. I beamed with pride as he explained the significance. The child's smile said it all, 'it looked sweet, like....CHOCOLATE!

We started our Chicago adventures by visiting the sky deck and Willis Tower. We had a great time…read morelearning about the history of Chicago. We purchased city pass tickets since we were visiting for a couple of days and chose the sky deck as one of our activities. They recommend making a reservation through the app so you can book the time you'd like to visit. Once we were in we went through the experience where we got to see exhibits and take fun pictures throughout. From there we took the elevator to the 103 floor to see the sky deck. The views of the city are super beautiful and of course we have to get our fun photos from the ledge!

While a 90-second time limit makes sense on a packed day, on a slow day with only 10-20 people in line and 4 decks available, they should easily extend it. Instead, they cram multiple groups into one deck--forcing our party of four adults to share tight space with two strangers--and strictly require everyone to enter simultaneously. By the time you get settled and overcome any nerves, your 90 seconds are already up. We would have rated our experience much higher, but an employee soured the end of our visit. When we politely asked him to take a photo, he rudely and repeatedly barked that he would only do so if we left immediately afterward, even though we had timed our visit and were barely over the limit. Great attraction, but better customer service and flexibility are desperately needed.
