We had the most beautiful experience with Oberer's! We stopped into the shop to get a flower arrangement for my mother-in-law's graveside interment service. The two young women who were working directed us to the cooler where they had so many lovely arrangements ready to go. We made our selection and proceeded to the cash register. The young lady carefully packed up the flowers with extra plastic since we told her we would be taking it to Pittsburgh the next day. My husband tried to hand her his credit card but she gave us the flowers and said, "have a nice rest of your day!" We tried to insist on paying, but she politely refused, saying, "our owner likes to be generous with people." What an unexpected act of kindness and generosity! I ordered flowers for my mom for retirement. they were delivered on a day when it was below freezing, uncovered. The flowers were brown around the edges, some flower stems were brown and lacking flowers at all. She didn't want to tell me but they looked like she'd had them for a week already. I emailed them with pictures and asked for a replacement bouquet. I never received a response but the next day she received a new fresh beautiful bouquet. Thats the only reason I gave 2 stars. I wish they would've at least apologized in the email. Makes me wonder if they just send bad flowers to see if anyone complains. read more

SO disappointed!! I ordered a boutonniere 3 weeks ago for prom today and what I got was HORRIBLE! Yes I know it is Mother's Day tomorrow but Seriously this looks like a left over rose. I even went in and told them I need a LARGE rose as the young man wearing it is not tiny! THANK GOODNESS Kroger saved the day!! Literally walked in asked if they could (thinking it was a long shot) make a boutonnière they stopped and made it on the spot and it was GORGEOUS!! Thank you Oberer's Flowers! I had placed an order with an online company and paid an extra (huge) fee to guarantee delivery before Noon 2 DAYS after I placed the order. That company failed miserably and so I turned to Oberer's Flowers. I called after 11:00am and they guaranteed me delivery that day. Not only did they follow through, the arrangement that they created was beautiful! When your family suffers a tragedy, the last thing you want is to use/deal with a company that is unreliable. I will never again do an online company. Oberer's Flowers set my mind at ease and provided some beauty where there was so much sorrow! I received the wrong arrangement and when it was picked up and the correct one delivered, I was extremely disappointed! It looks nothing like the picture on the website. I know they do subsitute flowers at times but this looks like someone took a small pot and stuck it down in the middle of the large garden pot. Terrible. Very depressing arrangement. Terrible... Despite being regular customers, really noticed how they are becoming less and less keen on customer service over the years. Today was last straw. Went and picked a bouquet from the shelf, for some reason not priced like rest of shelves , so went to check out and the lady there mentioned this is an old one and will give it to me for 20$. I was like great, it looks good to me. Gave her my card. However, She said let me check and call my boss just to be sure. She calls and then she tells me, "Oh, sorry , this is new and it's 45$" , I was like that's interesting since you said it's old and you are the expert , however no problem all good , let me go get another one instead. Mistakes happen. I go to one of the shelves with 19.95$ and pick one bouquet and go back and she tells me , great choice , that will be 55$ !!!!!! I was then appalled, what kind of scam business you guys are running here. No pricing and when I even get something with pricing on it you change and over charge. Her excuse was the shelve has 19.95$ and somehow this one is 55$ and price tag for that section of the shelve mysteriously disappeared. I asked for manager , none to be found, I asked her to honor the price THEY displayed , and she did not. Point here is not trying to get a deal , but clearly No one can trust such type of business when they operate like this. There is lots of other flower shops whom I can take my business to. Do not go here if you are grieving. My mother, sister and I went to Oberer's in West Chester last week to choose an urn arrangement for my father, who passed very suddenly. The attendant had an idea of a standard arrangement and didn't care to listen to us. We told her immediately that we didn't want roses, lilies or yellow but she kept pulling those. We told her we didn't want a big, sad arrangement, but she ignored us. At one point she threw the flowers in her hand down with force, rolled her eyes at my mother, and stomped away in a huff. When we did find something we liked but it was more non-traditional, she acted like it would be a huge inconvenience for her to create it. Everything was about her and what she wanted to do, not about my grieving family's wishes, and she acted like a spoiled child when we rejected her wishes in favor of something my dad would have liked. Her attitude was cold, callous and unkind, and she made an already terrible time just that much worse. She should not be permitted to work with anyone grieving without targeted and deep coaching and training - I never want anyone to be on the receiving end of this kind of "service" again. We went to a local competitor immediately after this incident and were thrilled with them. read more

That changed this for me, and their complete disregard for me as a consumer and overall poor customer service makes me think they must have changed owners or managers. The Oberers I used to know was attentive and their flowers always fresh. This time, they delivered 3 days late with no call or explanation and my flowers are dying. Manager will not return my call. They had no explanation and didn't even offer an apology. We have asked for a refund. It's one thing to make a mistake and quite another to offer not so much as an apology or a refund. As a bridesmaid, I had the pleasure of holding one of Oberer's beautiful bouquets during my friends' wedding. The arrangement complimented our lime green dresses perfectly, with bright purples, indigo blues, and bright greens. Touches of white feathers accented the bouquet, as the wedding included peacock decorations. We also gave Oberer's swatches of diamond fabric to wrap the stems of the bouquets for the bridesmaids. The same fabric was used throughout the reception, so it was fun to have our flowers match the facility. Oberer's also made the centerpiece arrangements during the reception, which included more gorgeous flowers and long, flowing peacock feathers. The centerpieces were predominantly green, which complimented the table settings perfectly. One small thing I noticed: the dandelion flowers in the bouquet had a potent stench. There were only a few of these, so the scent was not wafting along with the bridesmaids. But when we stuck our nose in the flowers (like most bridesmaids enjoy doing every 10 minutes) we'd get a whiff of unpleasantry. Just a forewarning; ask for no dandelions in the bouquet! read more

Long story short, I was originally thinking of DIY-ing my wedding flowers by buying in bulk from Oberer's, but quickly realized that was over my head and decided to let them handle all the arrangements instead. Met with staff at the West Chester location a couple times and *loved* the sample bouquet they made for me. The day of the wedding, there was a pretty significant snafu, but the manager did an excellent job of getting the situation under control, and within an hour I had everything I needed. Because of how professionally she handled things, and how beautifully the flowers all turned out, I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Oberer's again. (However, if it were a complex order, I would probably check in more often, just to make sure things were on track.) Side note: I don't like the dispatch phone system. I prefer to speak directly with someone at the location I am working with. read more

I received a large tropical theme arrangement for my birthday last week. I'm sure that my friend spent at least $150 for it. When it arrived, the ginger flowers have already turned brown. The arrangement looks like it was quickly thrown together with no creativity! There are only 2 types of tropical flowers, ginger flowers & birds of paradise. There are 4 hydrangeas & some roses. My mother and I went into have arrangements made for my grandmothers funeral. The older woman working was by far the rudest woman I have ever encountered. She could not handle the constructive criticism my mother gave due to the mistake they made on a prior order. And because of that, the woman working refused to listen to my mother and what she was wanting for her mother's funeral. Her lack of empathy was awful. I stood there in disbelief that a person could be so nasty. This location has truly taken a turn for the worst. I can only hope management will take this review seriously. Horrible customer service. They called my mother a liar and lied to the BBB. I used them for my wedding, they dropped the flowers off 2 hours before they were suppose to and left them at the front desk of the hotel. The boutonnieres were falling apart, the corsages were smashed and falling apart. My bouquet did not have the rhinestones as we requested, some of my flowers were browning, and I had a flower fall out before I even walked down the aisle. They are horrible at resolving issues and only offer a measly $100 something back in the ober $700 we paid and barely got to use any of the flowers we PURCHASED!! Someone I know was going through a rough patch so I decided to look up the nearest florist to where she was going to be and I came across this place. I placed the order online and had very specific instructions and she received the flowers the next day and let me tell you they were EXACTLY what I had specified and exactly what was shown on their website.
